Jamie BraunWell, my name is jamie braun. I live in wapakoneta, ohio. Home of Neil A. Armstrong, first man on the moon. and Kent Boyd, runner up to lauren from So You Think You Can Dance. Phylis Diller is from Lima, ohio about 20 minutes from Wapakoneta. Yes, THE Lima ohio, where the tv show Glee is from. Im 38, I love to sing at home, never sang in any competition. Just at work when I get stressed. It helps me alot to calm down. Lol. I’ve been known to “let it loose” at work. I think Gloria would get that. I get down! My favorite singer of all time is gloria estefan. Her music has gotten me through the toughest times in my life. A true inspiration. Come and see me in Wapakoneta, cause its Party Time! 0 Reply March 28, 2012
Marlon NeVar MasseyI was born in a small town called Port Huron Mi. and raised in Detroit. I currently reside in Grand Rapids Mi. I am 36 years old.To describe me & my singing ability, I would have to say that it is comprised of the accurate capability to produce a seasoned, soulful sound with precise intonation. I think I’m able to do this becuause I started off at age five playing the drums at my church (New Covenant Life Ministries, Port Huron Mi.) and everything we did was by ear. As I grew older, I found myself secretly singing in our basement and when my mom would hear me, she’d say, “Boy hush up wit all that noise! Just stick to the drums!….” Well fortunately for me, I didn’t listen, instead I listened to my Junior High School choir teacher Mr. Rambaum. Hearing my potential, he would have me lead songs ranging from Jefferson Starship to Guns N Roses! From then on, I kept dreaming, singing in various talent and t.v.shows such as “Your Big Break” (a Dick Clark production in 1999) and “Gospel Dream” (Gospel Music Channel in 2009) Funny thing is, I even auditioned for Queen Latifah’s Talent segment in 1998! I sung “What a Man Won’t Do” on a conference call with Queen Latifah and her producers from the show!! Unfortunately I received a letter stating that the show was taken off the air….I loved that SHOW!!! In the shows I have been in, I would some how have enough skillset to be in the finals, but I have never won it all!? After the last show I almost gave up, but after sharing with my super supportive wife about how I felt, she strongly urged me to give it one more try and she would do all that she could this year to support my dream, and then I found this!!! The Star Next Door!! What an awesome concept! I BELIEVE with all my heart that I have what it takes to be on this series and I will bring flare, charisma, awesome skillset and style to this production!!! In my opinion, the first season should bring forth artist’ that are hungry not for fame and fortune, but for the LOVE of the MUSIC!!! I’m NOTHING without MUSIC!I appreciate this opportunity very much! Look to hear from you soon!!!!Yours Truly, Marlon NeVar Massey Detroit/Grand Rapids Mi. 0 Reply March 27, 2012
Jessica GleatonHey yall. I think I am the star next door. I love to sing!!! I was given a talent and I love to use it. I was just recently made music director for my church and everyone says I should go to American Idol or The Voice. My thing is I have been diagnosed with lupus. It is very hard for me to go to an audition somewhere out of town and just wait. I have been singing since I was four. In high school I was captain over soprano and alto sections. I was also Sandy in Grease in the 10th grade. My chorus teacher begged me to audition for shows but i refused. At that age I thought I had more important stuff to do. But here I am ready to go and nothing to loose. I have been praying for the past year for the Lord to open the doors and show me how to become a professional singer. Once my mom saw John Rich on Kathy and Hooda’s show, last week, she said Jess this is for you. I know this is just one submition out of thousands but I’m praying now that you guys will come to Lancaster, SC and mentor me. Let my gift of singing reach the world. 0 Reply March 27, 2012
Natasha GreenMy name is Natasha Green and I’ve been singing since I was 12 years old. I worked very hard throughout high school to become a singer, and my hard work paid off because I was accepted to Ithaca college for musical theater. However while I was there I didn’t feel right. Musical theater was just not something I saw myself doing the rest of my life. I knew I wanted to sing, but I wanted to become a recording artist and sing R&B soul and smokey jazz. So I made the tough decision to drop out of school and begin auditioning. Unfortunaletly after I left school I started to feel like maybe singing wasn’t something I could really make a career out of. I felt myself starting to get caught up in this bubble that I couldn’t get out of. So I stopped auditioning for a little while and applied to a job working with autistic children as a one on one aide. After being there for a couple months, I started realizing that even though I loved my job, my passion is singing. God blessed me with a gift, and I would be disrespecting him if I took it for granted. So I got my confidence back and decided to start singing again. My mom later told me about this new show The star next door and said that it could be perfect for me. So here I am now. I’m ready and determined to make my dream come true. It took a long time for me to realize that i couldn’t live without singing and I hope I can get the chance to be on this show. So please come to Matamoras PA and let me prove to you that I am The Star Next Door!!!! 0 Reply March 27, 2012

Angela EdwinsZebulon, Georgia…look it up….it is right down the road, take a left at the oak tree, next to the barn, right past the dirt road. I am the Star Next Door. My kids are my number one fans and in their eyes I am already a star. Anybody knows that the Star Next Door, has to be the one that you would least expect it to be and none of my neighbors would expect me to be The Star Next Door. Zebulon, Georgia needs a star, because I can not think of one star that has came from Zebulon, Georgia. There that is it, I am the Star Next Door. I am not someone that has been professionally trained, I am just someone that has a passion for singing and loves to use music to tell a story. I would be the right one to listen, take constructive critism and happily receive all the advice and instruction to make me better and stronger. 0 Reply March 25, 2012

Kat GutierrezHey I’m Kat Gutierrez. I’m 16 years old and in high school. I live in San Antonio, Texas. I love to sing. It is my all time passion and so is being up on stage and preforming. I play a bit of piano (still in the process of learning) and I’m currently learning guitar. I write my own song based from my experiences and what I feel (crushes, boys, friends, etc). Having this oppertunity would be the best thing that could ever happen to me in my life. It would mean so much for me to finally have this chance and stand out. I’ve preformed for my family events from time to time (graduations, funerals, parties, etc.) and for school (chior and a few chior events for solos). If I was given this chance, which I hope I am, I would love and be honored to work with whoever my mentor will be. I’ve wanted to be a famous singer, (very well known singer), ever since I was probably 5 years old or maybe even younger. I love being up on stage and its my long time dream to finally be up on stage and share my music with the world, sell out stadiums everywhere, have people listen to my music finally… I wanna be known more than just that shy girl in class sitting near someone. I wanna be known more than just the girl who’s quiet and rarely speaks her mind. I wanna be the girl to make a difference in her town and let people in her town know, if I can make my dream come true then they shouldn’t hold back on their dream cuz that girl who was quiet, who everyone thought wouldn’t be someone well known around the world is out there on stage, doing interviews, travling to see her fans, making records, and just living her dream is finally someone. I don’t wanna be just someone who they’ve been passing by not knowing what talents I have. I want to show everyone at school that I can and I will be something. I don’t want to go through life unknown more longer. This is the BEST and ONLY oppertunity that I can possibly have. I would love and be honored if I was given the chance. Trust me everyone that hears my voice says I’m not a disappointment and will be something if I continue with my singing. So please come to SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS and help me reach my dream. 0 Reply March 24, 2012

I’ve been working extreamly hard on my music and would love for this to finally be my chance to show everyone that I’m not just that shy girl sitting next to, in front of, or behind of that never talks. Preforming is my everything. I’ve preformed many times before and gotten outstanding compliments and even standing obvations. People are very surprised when they hear my voice cause no one ever really hears me talk. I want to be known more than just that quiet girl. I want to make a mark in my town and let everyone know, I’ve been here and I’m just waiting for my moment to shine. Please come to San Antonio and help me live my dream. George Whittaker IIHi, my name is George (known as G.W. to my friends & family). I currently live in Beckley, WV, but am originally from Jacksonville, FL. I have been singing since I was 3 years old, professionally since I was 15 years old. I had a band that played several local venues in Jacksonville, FL & all around southern GA & most of FL. We opened for several country music artists in the mid 1990s (Loretta Lynn, Diamond Rio, Neal McCoy, Faith Hill, Lorrie Morgan, & Merle Haggard to name a few). My mother passed away in 1997, so I took a break from my music career at that time & took a job with CSX. After almost 2 years of not permforming, I requested a transfer, with CSX, back to Nashville. I found it very difficult to work on my music career while working fulltime, I also got married during this time. In 2002 my wife & I moved to WV (where she is from & most of my family also). We both started jobs there & then started our family there also, so we decided to stay. I still work fulltime & do some DJ work on the side. I would welcome the opportunity to showcase my talent!! 0 Reply March 19, 2012
FrankieShayneI have been auditioning for show after show and have had some limited luck at making the various call back stages of them all. I’m a guy from a small town where opportunities are few, but I love music and it’s power, just for the love of it. I want my shot to be heard and a chance to get my message out there and honestly if you want to pluck a “star” from obscurity Hutchinson, Kansas would be a great place to start. I’ve got kids that love me and think my time is now but I need someone in the industry to at least give me a chance. So c’mon H.B.O. Helpa Brother Out! 0 Reply March 19, 2012
Debra SharfnerI am a 29 year old singer/songwriter/producer and I have been singing since I could talk. I have auditioned for American Idol, The Voice, Star Search, and others and had no success. My father is 72 years old a minister in a small town outside of Nashville, TN called Lebanon. He was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer. I would love for this show to come to the Lebanon to give me a chance to make my father proud and allow him and my family to see me happy and fulfilling my dreams! Please help my dreams come true. 0 Reply March 19, 2012
JennFHi there! My daughter Amanda would be perfect for your show. She is 15 years old, and the new kid in town. We recently moved from NJ to Roanoke, VA. Amanda has been singing since age 5, and was known in our former home town as the go-to girl when a vocalist was needed. The local news did a story on her and her talents, and she was a “little local celebrity”. She made it through 3 rounds of the Xfactor, and has won dozens of singing competitions. I fear I have broken her momentum with the move to Roanoke, VA 🙁 Other than a few of her new friends, nobody knows that an up and coming star has moved to town. This would be a great opportunity to introduce her to her new town and hopefully regain some of that momentum. As a young child, she sang pop and Broadway, Over the years, her song choices became country. Now that we have moved more south, it has confirmed her love for country music. She would love to be mentored by Jon Rich. I’m sure he could take my Jersey princess and make her an authentic country star! 0 Reply March 19, 2012

Rosita*********I appreciate you taking the time to read this*******I feel I should be considered for the “Star Next Door” because first of all Ive been praying and praying that I would have a chance like this to show the world that if you put God first, work hard and be honest with yourself among other things, that things will work out!! I am versitile, which I always felt contrbuted to my sound. I just feel like when I sing I get this overwelming feeling that I cannot explaine….I feel like singing comes natural to me (not in a conceeded way)…maybe because its like theropy for me. The problem is that in this economy its so hard to audition in other states with all the cost involed….I feel like there is no better oppertunity then this. Just like everybody else I too have a story and through those rough times my passion for singing and music became stronger and stronger. I have so many Ideas and I know that if given the oppertunity I would work hard and give it my all. I am always doing things for other people, I think its time for me to think about myself. Thank you so much! 0 Reply March 18, 2012

I have auditioned for X-Factor, AGT twice and the Voice ,endless hours of waiting to sing for 90 seconds and my chances of being call back were very slim. But I’m not giving up. FelisciaHi, My name is Feliscia. I am writing on behalf of my extremely talented mother, Sponjetta Parrish. It would be a great blessing from God for you to come to Athens, Ga and help my mother’s dreams come true. My mother has been singing and writing songs for almost all of my life. She does not hesitate to say that music is what she thinks about when she wakes up and when she goes to sleep. I feel that it has been her lifelong prayer and I can not express the joy that I would get from seeing her prayers answered. My mother has written literally hundreds of songs and a has a style and creativity unmatched by anyone else I know. She is truly a treasure to me, our family and her community. Most recently, Sponjetta took the stage on America’s Got Talent singing her original song Studio. Her videos have gotten thousands of hits and her audition alone has over 2 million hits! My mother has many fans (who would LOVE to see her on your show) and takes the time to reach out to them and let them know how much she appreciates them. She is a kind, passionate, and blessed woman that i am proud to call my mom. In every way she is truly a superstar. She just auditioned for The Voice and made the callback. They loved her and we got nothing but positive feedback yet they did not pass her through. She is truly the girl next door who is probably really the star next door if she only had an opportunity like this. It is so difficult to find venues for someone her age. With the right professional training I know she will be able to become the recording artist and performer she wants to be. dominique cunninghamI’m 20 years old and I’ve only been singing for a little under 2 years. I never had the proper support from my family in pursuing singing so when I got into my second semester of college I enrolled in my first vocal coaching class. It was a slow start and I’m not perfect or even close, but I feel with the mentoring from the iconic persons working on the show, I could proudly represent my city, the GREAT Houston TX, and even my nation. I’ve been performing in front of live audiences since I was 4 years old, so being on stage, or in front of people is second nature for me, I actually get a “high” off performing because I like showing off my talent and being recognized and praised on how well, or bad, I did. Being a little more specific, I’ve done live performances in dance, theater, volleyball, softball, basketball, and track. Although I love all these activities to this day, music/singing is what I’m truly passionate about and I believe “The Star Next Door” will be a great start and experience in my road to sucess through singing! I can’t wait to audition so please come to Houston, TX!! 🙂 0 Reply March 14, 2012
Lisa LuckettI have been singing ever since I can remember and being from a small East Texas town, Texarkana, TX, I haven’t had a lot of opportunity to get myself out there. I’ve recently started writing and really all i can say is my heart is in music and it’s something i will always love. Please come see me!!! 0 Reply March 14, 2012
reagan marlerI am a singer songwriter from Asheville NC..one of the coolest cities in the country. I am deciding not to tryout for the voice this year because of the lengthy filming schedule falling on the wrong timeline for me to uproot from the east coast….I am very excited about possibly working with John Rich as a mentor and am very serious about my talent. Please email me as soon as possible with audition information. Asheville is an awesome city with diversity and true musical talent. I am petite, blonde, with a big voice and a unique tone. I believe that I have commercially viable originally written songs and just need an opportunity on the east coast early in the summer. I have been flagged as a friend of a talent coordinator for The Voice and am deciding not to do this only because of the timing of the filming schedule.. I am 2 days away from an Atlanta audition and am withdrawing for personal practical reasons. If I could back this decision up with another forthcoming opportunity, I would certainly feel better about it. I am a hair and makeup artist and understand the styling aspect of casting for TV.. My voice is unique and my talent deserving. I have made these recent decisions unselfishly because of my son who is 16 and almost driving and the timing of the voice audition doesnt fall right for me just yet. This show format and timeline would work better for me.. I have wanted to work as a songwriter with John Rich since Nashville Star.. Please dont overlook me.. I sound like Susan Tedeschi and am ready to embark on what i know is true souls destiny..I have had my priorities straight my entire adult life and have been a wonderful mother… I look 25…ten years younger…and have patiently waited to be able to put myself and my dreams first, though not at the expense of my son…My time is this year.. Im ready… 0 Reply March 14, 2012
Kristen LicataSinging is the love of my life and I cannot image abandoning my dream of performing professionally. My parents and I have sacrificed so much for me to study locally and in NYC. I am 28 and have sung classically, Motown, pops, musical theatre, and jazz on stage in Southwest Florida as a soloist and in groups since I was 9 years old. I need the opportunity to show my abilities on your national platform. I will not give up my dream until I am successful and I would appreciate your consideration to show you what I can do. 0 Reply March 14, 2012

Brittany SmithWhen your a newborn, you can’t speak. When your 5 your reciting the ABC’s to everyone on the block. When your 23 and you sit back and realize how you have grown up to be the woman you are today, you realize that music was involved each and everyday. In some shape and in some form it has molded and shaped me into an amazing woman. Singing is a passion that I have always wanted to pursue. I am lucky enough to have just married into the family of a musically entertained family. My father-in-law is a musician and plays for the California Cowboys, Robert Smith. A huge hit in California. But it is so intimidating. I wish I could explain to him how music makes me feel, and how I wish like him that I could have the same career. I would love to share my God given talent with the world. My mother is my inspiration. She is an almost 7 year Ovarian Cancer survivor. She has had some reaccurances and recently has began Chemotherapy again because the cancer has spread to her omentum. While this is such bad news. My mother tackles each day as if nothing is wrong with her. She is my hero. She loves to watch me chase my dreams and supports me no matter what! Growing up we use to go to Wannabe’s in Nashville, TN and she would sing Delta Dawn. She wasn’t the best singer, but she tried. Now it all boils down to, Why should we pick you for “The Star Next Door?” Well while Sacramento, California may not exactly be my hometown. Its exactly where I am. I left home in Hodgenville, KY to be with my husband here in the Golden State. I promise you won’t be disapointed if you choose this city for your show. Like Jo Dee Messina says in one of my all time favorite songs, “Heads Carolina, Tails California.” I want to show the world what this 23 year old is made of. I go by the name of Brittany Lynn Smith, you can take the girl out of the country, but you can never take the country out of the girl. I hope to see you soon Queen Latifah, and I promise I won’t let you down. This is how you make dreams come true and its all in your hands now. 0 Reply March 13, 2012
JeliciaMarch 13, 2012 at 4:30 am Singing is a passion to me. I’ve been singing at a tender age. I’m now 22 years old and feel like its time for me to make my dreams come alive. I’ve always been told I give up to easily and need to live my dreams without fear of being turned down and I did. I want to become a singer so bad I dream about it all the time. I just want a chance to shine and let my voice be heard I will do whatever it takes. 0 Reply March 13, 2012
6XOk – now THIS is what I’m talking about, AND Queen Latifah is tied to this?? Love her. And more importantly, I AM a female MC, 5 months shy of turning 40, and have been called “The Sade of Hip Hop” from those who’ve seen me live, and heard my recordings. I’m a late bloomer, for sure. Been writing songs ever since I was 17; was too shy to get on the mic so I opted to learn how to produce music, and jumped into acting/modeling from 21 – 32, on and off in L.A.. When I finally built up the nerve to let my voice shine, I was already packing up my bags and moving from L.A. to AZ to get my Master’s and work professionally in the field of Education. I KNOW this is my shot. I KNOW I am good. And I KNOW America, shoot the WORLD even, is in DIRE need of a LEGITIMATE, SOPHISTICATED, and SOULFUL, FEMALE HIP HOP ARTIST. It’s been a loooooooooong time coming for me, but it’s also afforded ample time for me to get my confidence up, and stay TRUE to my natural born talent – inspired so eloquently by my unofficial mentors- MC Lyte, Queen Latifah, A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Digable Planets, Gang Starr, Slick Rick, Whodini, and COUNTLESS others who NEVER comprimised their integrity in the name of hip hop. I AM NOT A GIMMICK! LETS DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And let’s put an end to the 20-year question of “whatever happened to the real female emcees?” Lots of Love, 6XOXOXO 0 Reply March 13, 2012

SarajaneOky, why not? Come to Gainesville, Florida; Im 35.. and Ive been a musician (drummer/percussionist) and vocalist since age 14.. Influenced by Genesis, Gloria Estefan, Fleetwood Mac, Annie Lennox, Heart, Foreigner, Bad Company to name a few.. I wont give you the sad sappy story about why I havent pursued my music further, but to say, life.. Im currently a Soul Counselor and I enjoy doing what I do in that area. I still play and sing in my current duo group. I cant really say that I sound like anyone else, but then again everyone says that.. I can however back up my drumming and my singing. Straight up rock, progressive, contemporary and pop; but I dont sing like those post Mariah Carey influence. My fiance Gary would also be great for this as he is a Christian Contemporary artist, songwriter and muscian.. So and yes I am heavily influenced by Gloria Estefan’s music with Miami Sound Machine and solo.. I cant do her songs justice, but I do enjoy singing them pretty good, I’d like to think. Allow me to show you! 🙂 Peace out, Sj 0 Reply March 13, 2012

Danielle Renee’ cleverly named is Daniree’ (Danny-Ray) after her first and middle name is a 22 year old Nuyorican hailing from the borough of Queens and ready to show why New York City is where only the strong survive! At the tender age of 5 on July 2nd, 1995 Daniree’s life on stage was born. One unexpected performance with upcoming Latin Superstar Marc Anthony would change her forever! Angel FilkinsI live in Clio, Michigan. I am a very fun outgoing 21 year old and I am married to an amazing and very supportive husband. I also have a one year old son who means everything to me, I would love an opportunity to do something I love to make him have a good life. I have been singing my whole life, but I never really had the courage to sing in front of an audience until high school. In high school I broke out of my shell and started getting solos in show choir, and doing talent shows. I was second soprano in our high school trio( who won 1st in regional literary, and 2nd in state), and the leading lady in our senior musical.I love all music, there isnt a genre I dont appreciate, but I see myself as a country pop singer, country music has gotten me through some tough times and I have always felt the most connected with country: However, I do feel my voice is also suited for pop and I see myself as a crossover artist like Carrie Underwood, and Taylor Swift. I would love to be a part of this show, all ive ever wanted to do was be a singer, if you give me that chance,sd you will not be dissapointed!!!! 0 Reply March 11, 2012
Maddy HudsonI’m located in the San Francisco Bay area. I’ve been singing since I was 6 and have had some vocal instruction. I also play guitar. I am comfortable performing on stage and have tried out for several singing shows. I can sing Pop but also love R&B, alternative, classic rock and some country that’s not too twangy. I tend to sound more like Adele, Lilly Allen, Sara Bareillas, Kelly Clarkson, and can pull off some Christina Aguilera. I’ve got what it takes, I really do, I just need someone to believe in me and give me a chance. I don’t have a story like my Mom’s is dying of cancer and we live in a shelter. I’ve been bullied and had to leave a private Christian school I was attending. I know what it’s like to be different and have different aspirations that all of my friends but it doesn’t make me want to change who I am. My mom is a single parent and works hard to raise and provide for me. I go to a public school, get good grades, I am involved in swimming and water polo so I can try for athletic as well as academic scholarships but singing is my passion. I want to get a performing arts degree and pursue my career. I am extremely competitive and work really hard and would give 150% to this competition if I was chosen. I hope you will consider me. 0 Reply March 11, 2012

AndreaEversonHello my name is Andrea Everson and I am 27 yrs oId and i live in Fairfield NE town of around 500 people. would really appreciate if I was picked to be on the The star next door. I have always wanted to sing and i love to sing. I drive my family crazy sometimes because i can get a little loud. lol. I have wanted to pursue this for a really long time but wih the way things turned out in my life even still to this day i sit and wish i had taken the chance to do something about my dream. I have been through a lot of trials and tribulations throughout my life but i never regret one second of them. they built me into the person that i am today and i love the route that i took. I just feel like there is something missing in my life and i know that it is music. me being able to sing and let others hear me. I know that it is just a dream. but i like to think that it could really happen for me some day. I am married to the man of my dreams and i have 4 wonderful children.I want my children to see that they can do anything they want to do in life if they only take a chance. Having children happened very quickly for my husband and I so the opportunity to take a chance at my dream got put on hold. I put it on hold in fact. I wanted to get grounded and have a family and a home and just all together be able to watch my children grow up and mold them into wonderful young adults. Even now i hesitate because my oldest is only 7 but if i dont try now i feel like i never will. I believe that you can be a singer and a mom and a wife and still have some sort of normalcy i hope. I really hope that you will give me a chance to be able to follow my dream of singing and allow me to audition for your show. If this time it doesnt work out, it is alright because i still have all the things that are part of my everyday life but this would make my day a little sweeter. I just want to see if i can do it and be successful and at the end of the day i dont make it very far at least i can say that i tried and there is nothing wrong with that. thank you so much for your consideration and hope to hear from you soon!
