My great grandpa use to play the drums for Otis Redding and as I was watching Otis and my great granddad sing and play the drums, I said to myself that I love music and I want to do this for life. I am all about the MUSIC with my mom who played the clarinet, my aunt who played the saxophone, my granddad who played the guitar and piano, and my great granddad who played/still plays the drums, and me who plays the drums piano guitar and a few more instruments, this is just how my family is. It is a dream that I will ALWAYS try to follow and ALWAYS will, It is AMAZING how many comments and things that I get about my voice because I have never had any singing lessons, choirs classes, nothing. I think I should be considered because, I am a trained singer. The music industry today is full of people who make it big using only auto-tune and their looks. It shouldn’t be about that. Above all, it should be about the music. In order to truly appreciate music, a person should take the time and energy to learn everything about it. Seth ForschinoHi, my name is Seth Forschino. I’m 19 years old and I live in Satellite Beach, Fl. My life has always been revolved around music. It’s the only thing that has ever gotten me by in life. I have had a lot of different issues with depression and listening and writing has gotten me through it. When the problems of depression occurred it was my sophomore and junior year of high school . Needless to say my GPA dropped and I really didn’t have an option of going to a big university. I ended up going to a school for culinary because I just wanted to make a quick decision on a major. A week before school started I got into a car accident. I was going 45 mph and couldn’t stop my car. Realizing this, trying to avoid the car in front of me, I turned my car into a ditch. After that I started having minor memory issues which caused problems with school. So, because of that and money issues I had to drop out. I took this all as a sign that it wasn’t apart of my plan to do that and have been thinking greatly of what i want to do. Music is really all i know, but its one of the hardest things to greatly accomplish. I have faith and hope that everything will one day work out, and music will always be apart of my life no matter what happens. Catherine Janee' BrownI would like to be considered because as a born and raised Georgia Peach I believe that Country Music is not as appreciated as it should be and since I am a country singer I’d like to show how a real southern girl can rock an audience. I am from a suburban town called Acworth, Georgia where the recent version of Footloose was filmed. Country is very popular since I do live in a Southern Belle state and I always get a welcome reception when I sing karaoke or for my friends at my college’s radio station. Music is my life, it has been the only constant positive energy for me growing up because I had a lot of personal demons to overcome and tended to push away those who cared for me. Growing up I remember riding in the car with my mom singing “Strawberry Wine” and telling her that one day I was going to make her proud. Unfortunately going to school became my main focus and all my fun performances got pushed to the side. I would feel truly blessed if y’all would let me be part of you show, not only for the obvious reasons of being a part of a singing competition but also because every opportunity I am given to grow gives me hope that at least one person will be up-lifted with my music. Also John Rich would be an incredible person to learn from. I can’t even remember how many times in middle school my mom caught me singing along with “Save a Horse” . I am a 21 year old college student currently living in Acworth, Georgia and attending college at Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta, Georgia and have been singing as long as I’ve been talking. Joshua Chas McCoolI come for peace, ready for war. I’m JusJosh, a 22 year old openly queer-hop artist from the Chi (Chicago) and I’m a singer, songwriter, and emcee. Since I was little I’ve had to use my talent as both a healing resource and a weapon for the wars me and my people face. As a rape survivor at the age of 13 who as “a man” was deemed unrapeable, as someone queer identified who’s constantly dealt and deals with homophobia head on, and as a poor man of color who has been isolated in America, I knew at a young age that music was more than entertainment for me. I knew the power that came with it. I’m working hard to help push the voices of LGBT artists and to help connect the communities we are a part of. We’ve had many LGBT artists in the mainstream industry but very few have spoken on it and around the issues and stories in our communities openly in their music, and even fewer LGBT people of color, even fewer LGBT men of color, and even fewer LGBT full figured men of color. I was singing before I could talk, started writing songs as a singer-songwriter around the age of 9, and I started rapping when I was about 14. Whether I become The Star Next Door or the local singer on the streets I will heal and fight with all I have. Let it be known that regardless of the homophobia/queerphobia a lot of the mainstream hip-hop community heavily reflects, bar for bar, I will rip any homophobic emcee you put in front of me. I will humble them and before I erase them I’ll educate them.lol Please come to the Chi and I’ll stay posted. We waited in line over 7 hours! We worked the night before singing! We were exhausted! When it was finally our turn to sing, we had no music background, no microphone and a cranky judge! We only had no more then 15 seconds to sing! It was so frustrating! There were so many wonderful talented people that day! We know that you have to be persistent to make your dreams come true,and that’s what we are doing. but it is time consuming and very discouraging! What a wonderful idea this is! I am originally from NY but recently live in Fresno, CA pursuing a doctorate in Clinical Psychology I am hard of hearing, yet have been in musical numbers such as Annie Get your Gun, Annie, Dam Yankees, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat and a few others. I have also participated in NYSSMA for both piano and voice, went to a music camp, obtained a bachelor’s degree in music and currently I am in a local choir. Finally, I also write songs. My daughter, Victoria has been a singer, songwriter, and musician winning her first award for music composition in the 3rd grade. My youngest daughter, Veronica has a very soulful voice. They have performed in local plays and venues of different sizes in the Hampton Roads area. They won the competition of Viginia Youth’s Got Talent last year. Living in Terre Haute in. you have next to no chance of ever being discovered. I have a wonderful family and can’t just leave and miss work to go to the reality auditions on the chance I may get to audition. Janessa BryanI’ve auditioned for a couple of TV shows before. My family has traveled so much and we’ve waited for so long with thousands of other people in hopes of me being noticed and making it farther than the annual Fair Talent Show, which is still a blast, might I add!:). I went from being a shy little dork in school to an outgoing and courageous person, and it was all because of singing on stage and connecting with my peers!! I feel like some of these shows overlook the true meaning of being a musician, which cannot be expressed through simple words. I want to help put the quality back into singing and performing..
