Ammi FaithWhy I want to be part of this project: First and foremost I am deaf in both ears, i just got a cochlear implant just the passing summer. I want to show the people who bully me at school that just because I am deaf doesn’t mean that i am useless. I want to show them that i can do the impossible by getting a chance to audition for this project. I feel so connect to the show, because I am deaf and I know what it’s like. I don’t ASL because my adopted parents never told me about it till I was 13. I tried learning it a bit last year but there there wasn’t anyone in my family who was deaf or know ASL so i started to forget and stop doing it. But i would love to work with these actors and learn ASL along the line because after all ASL is dead language and therefore I am deaf. My family aren’t very supportive of my acting because they’re very protective of me, but i want to show them I’m not a kid anymore, I’m someone who will go after her dream even if she have to care the missing sounds along with her. I am a very hardworker, my interpreter say i am a perfectionist because I try so hard to make everything perfect (school work) because I’m afraid of failing. Even a lot of people were shocked that I was hard of hearing or deaf. I use sign language when I’m with a deaf people or group, also help teaching hearing people how to sign. I know many different culture deaf, hearing, brazilian ( my wife is brazilian ), and christain Anyway, I’ve been watching this show switched at birth and made me really want to be an actor or be someone to prove deaf people that they can follow dream just like hearing people. I am 37 years old but a lot of people think I’m 22 or 25. I’m blessed with a beautiful hearing wife and hearing son who is 10. I met my wife at the mall when there a college group who want to learn how to sign in the food court. My family loves watching switched at birth and thought maybe I could be an extra or actor for switched at birth. It’s would be a dream come true for me and my family. Shania BeltonI’m not looking for fame, but an experience. An experience that some people dream about, i love this show because of the dynamic it has. Not only this show applies to hearing and deaf it had a great story. Really there has not been any really good shows except for buck rogers and Dawson’s creek, so i thought until i saw this show. When i was little we had a deaf person come into my school who taught us to accept everyone and not to judge on the outside cause there could be a whole lot more that we’ll never see. Once i saw your show i began to have interest because when Bay when to Carlton.She wasn’t accepted because she was hearing. Its a unique perspective because its like looking for the outside on the inside. I’ve always have had a love for other languages, but sign language is purposeful and can be spoken around the world i am aware the different types of sign language. I’ve attended a public schools with Deaf programs, two different Deaf Schools, and end up the only Deaf student graduated from local high school nearby my hometown. I’ve attended to some colleges, but i just couldn’t seem to find the right major for me to continue to graduate with the degrees. I’ve watched couples of episodes of your shows, i felt like, “hey that’s how exactly i felt with my past life” so basically, i just could relate to that television show of yours. there’s some facts about me. I grew up in both worlds (hearing/deaf), and not just only that, i’m also mixed (white/black), i’m into sports, and sorta of a tomboy. I love acting ever since that day i acted like i’m peter pan since i was 5. I’ve always pretending to act like other person around my friends, and all of that open-minded acting. I’m not camera shy, that’s a positive thing. I would act what you want me to act. The main character Bay, played by Vanessa Marano has always been one of my favorite actresses ever since I saw her in The Brooke Ellison Story and then again in the Clique. I’m 16 and at the golden age where I should experience these new opportunities as they present themselves! Which is why I attended ITP Interpreter school. I would always go back and forth between fields because people would say models and actress can’t be interpreters.
