It was kind of funny because in my agriculture class there was a deaf person,and I just like Kathryn and John in the first couple of episodes. I was not aware of the community that deaf people had. I was able to communicate with him a little, and I really enjoyed it. I am not fluent in sign language by any means , but I am a really quick learner. Lori NicoleMy name is Lori Nicole and I know that this would an importunity of a lifetime to be on a show as successful and popular as the Switched At Birth. This is not a spontaneous act for me to want to act in fact I’ve wanted to be an actress, model, and singer for quite some time however acting was my first love and passion. Like many other applicants I am a huge fan for this show. I have loved it since the fist season and am always left in utter shock after each episode. However my favorite part of Switched At Birth isn’t just the plot and characters but the behind the scenes of how everything works and what the cast has to say about working with one another. I l love watching bloopers, behind the scenes and reading the tweets of the cast, directors, and produces of how much hard work, time, and effort was put into each episode. I love that the most. I want to be apart of the Switched At Birth experience because I am a hard worker and it’s difficult to make me quit something, and also because i feel that i can portray what ever would be required of me perfectly. I was diagnosed with Deafness at the age of 15 months old and received a Cochlear Implant at the age of 13. I am now 23 years old and love both worlds, Hearing and Deaf world. I know American Sign Language and would love to work with Switch at Birth Family and learn of how to become a successful actress. I do not have tremendous experience in acting but I have been in several skits that involves with ASL. I learned Sign Language at the age of 15 months old and by the time I went to college, I started learning ASL and it’s so different, and I LOVE it. I am happy of who I am and want to show people that us Deaf people can succeed in anything. I have been in several pageants and won, I finally became a cheerleader in 8th grade after 5 cheerleading tryouts, I was determine not to quit and now I want to determine to be a part of the Switched at Birth Family and show the world how much we are not a quitter.
