Reggie HarrisReginald “Reggie” Harris was born in St. Louis MO. He began acting and dancing at COCA (Center Of Creative Arts) under Lee Nolting for Jazz, Marlon Hoffman for theater and Tracy Dupre for tap. As a young actor he appeared in several Z-Toys commercials airing on Nickelodeon and Nike print work. He also has won several monologue contest while performing in plays such as “The Ugly Duckling”, “Alice In Heartland”, “The Tempest”, “A Midsummers Night Dream”, “Stormy Weather”, “Titanic”, “A Raisin In The Sun”, “The Adventures of Tom and Huck” and “Rhinoceros”. In 2001 he received an acting scholarship to The Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts Camp in Steamboat Springs, CO. While taking tap classes with Lisa Owens at the camp he was invited to attend Tap Kids in Terrytown, NY as well. In 2002 he became a member of the COCA Pre-Professional Company, where he go on to work with Jason Samuel Smith, Robert Reid, Ronnie Harris, Diane Walker, The Trinity Irish Dance Company, and The Bototo Yatu African Dance Company. He was also awarded a scholarship to the St. Louis Tap Festival and in 2003 he was awarded an acting scholarship to The American Academy Of Dramatic Arts in New York City. In 2006 he moved to Dallas, TX and attended Brookhaven College to purse a theater degree. In 2007 he performed in “Metamorphoses” as two different characters. In 2009 he began dancing under Deb Jones of the Rhthym Junkies, who would introduce him to Kiera Leverton of Rhthymic Souls who he currently studies under. He also has performed at The National Tap Celebration in Dallas and at Gracie Tunes Tap Celebration with the Rhthym Junkies. In 2010 began to perform with Stage Band South lead by Jason Davis, he most recently performed at The City Performance Hall grand opening with Katlyn Harris and Kiera Leverton appearing as well. That same year he began his teaching career in Irving Texas. I strongly believe that I should be considered for a role on the “Love Thy Neighbor” Show and “The Have and Have Nots” Show, because I have the talent for it. With all of the dramatic and comedy acting that goes on separately in the two shows, I strongly believe that I can act it out. Yes, I know that people comment on here nearly every day and say I have wanted to become an actress or actor my whole life and that may be true, but why. Well I want to cast my talent to world so that I can show them what I made of and so that I can entertain people. That’s my talent. To entertain. I have put so much sweat, hard-work, tears, rejection, and hope just to get where I am at now. Right now I am no where because I have been rejected by talent agencies and big talent searches such as ProScout and Barbizon. I don’t care how long it takes me to become an actress and I don’t care how many No’s I get, I know that I have the motivation, passion, devotion, and determination to become an actress because I keep on pushing through and trying. I know that this is my goal in life because I love the craft of acting and being able to become someone that I am not that is going to make people go “Wow, she is a great actress.” It’s not that I want a chance at fame or attention or a chance of becoming rich, because they may not even happen. The chance of doing something that I love that so happens to be in front of a camera is the only legitimate reason for becoming an actress and yes like I said it may be a long term dream, but why. Hopefully my story if full-filling and convincing enough, but if not then I will try harder next time, but honestly to me my story is great and worth noticing. The only problem I have with watching a movie or well known TV show is that I’m not a part of it. I never wanted to be the average child. I always wanted to act and be a part of the movie screen. As I meditate on this, I remember the lost my father at age 13, the loss of my mother 20 years later, graduating from college, the break-up engagement, and the transition of being a women fighting to be heard, discovered, and remembered.
