  1. Paul W. Weeden Jr.

Hello, my name is Paul W. Weeden Jr. I am currently a young 71 years old who started singing at the age of 5. When I was growing up, the opportunity to display my talent was not as plentiful as it is now. Because of my singing ability, as a young boy, my mother would take me to as many talent shows as she could. As I grew older, I sang in church, nightclubs and with different groups as a backup singer. After moving to Nashville, TN, I was diagnosed with cancer of the vocal chords. The treatment was 28 sessions of radiation which was very devastating and affected my singing voice. The treatment not only took away the bad cells but also affected the good cells. With God answering prayers not only from me but my family and friends, I received my singing voice back. This alone made me a cancer survivor; and if given the opportunity to sing on your show, you will see that I am a winner!!

  16. Annette

The greatest accomplishment in my life was successfully raising my three children. My oldest is 33 years of age Also becoming an ordained pastor.. I believe that finally now it’s my time to shine. I was challenged with the question as to whether or not I could or should do this. I love to sing and have done so since a little girl. My dad who was my hero always complimented me and told me what a great singer I was. He would ask me to sing all the time especially when guest were around. But at sixteen when singing with a girl group and having received a contract my dad refused to sign it and told me that I needed to go to school get an education instead of singing. He said that I couldn’t carry a note around the corner. This hurt deeply and affected me so much that I feared singing. I know it’s not my dad’s fault. God gave me a gift and I need to use it. I would love to sing in your competition.

  27. Nicole Tiger

Singing has been my passion my entire life–my dad even still has home videos of me as a kid belting it out for friends and family. Music has been an outlet for me emotionally and socially. After a bad day or upsetting encounter, listening to my favorite songs quickly restores me to a happier frame of mind. At Brandeis University, my love of singing attracted me to the A Cappella group Up the Octave where I sang and bonded with girls that will be my friends for life. Performing with them at concerts and coffeehouses helped me to build the confidence I have today. Music is such a powerful and wonderful force, and I embrace this opportunity to share with others the joy music gives to me. Please accept me on the show! I can’t wait to display my talent and passion on a national stage!

  28. Jessica Balella

Hi! My name is Jessica, and I believe I should be on this show because I feel like this is 100% what I am meant to do. I know everyone on the planet says this but it’s true. I’ve battle depression and stomach issues for the past few years and the pain was sometimes so much to take that I felt like I didn’t even want to go on. The one way that really helped me push past this dark period was music. Ever since it is my favorite thing to do, and I would love to make a career out of it. I am currently a college student also in deep debt because I couldn’t figure out what I wanted to do with my life. I have been to 3 different colleges, and I do like what I am doing, but I can’t say I love it more than music and singing. I do believe in myself, and I feel that I could win this show because I have faith in myself. If I won this money, I don’t even think I would use it on myself. My dad has been out of a job for 6 months now and cannot find another one. Meanwhile, my mom doesn’t work because she took care of me and my siblings when we were young, and due to having battled cancer a couple times, she is unable to work. If I won this money I would use it to help my parents out, not only because they’re amazing parents, but because they deserve it.

  29. Angi McBride

Hey there! I am watching the show tonight, so I don’t know if it’s still possible to get on the show, but I am going to try. My name is Angi and I am a 3rd grade teacher. Although I love teaching, singing has always been my passion. I would love to be on the show to prove to myself and those around me that I have what it takes to be a performer. It would be awesome to win some money in the process, as I am a mom to 3 great kids. My hubby is a firefighter, and occupations like that of my husband’s and mine don’t have the highest income. I know I am a good singer. It’s always been a gift of mine, and I know that I am not using that gift as it should be used. Please give me a chance! 🙂 Thank you!
    Angi

I have dreamed about something like this and I would be so extremely grateful if you gave me a chance! <3

  58. Aunjelique Avalos

Hi my name is Aunjelique Avalos, and I’m 17 years old. I have actually only been singing for about 2 years, but when people hear me sing they tell me I’m lying or that they don’t believe it. I have heard so many times I sound a lot like Christina Augilera which is my idol because of her amazing vocals that I have practiced so hard to hit. The first time I started to get interested in the music industry is when I had an improvisation for the song “Unwritten” in my chorus in 8th grade. Everyone was blown away by my performance and I decided then and their that music was gonna be my life and that it was what I wanted to spend the rest of my life doing. I actually got invited to the first show of “The Winner Is” but sadly my chance was ruined when I was admitted to the hospital for a severe stomach virus during the time of the auditions. So I’m hoping I will get another chance to be apart of your show and prove that I have what it takes. Thank you!

  59. Cassidy Burris

Hi, I am Cassidy Burris 12 years old. The reason i think i could be the next “The Winner Is” is because i have done over a THOUSAND competitions and i got 1st place all the time and some times i had to really work my butt off but, it was worth it since i got 1st place all the time:) I like to sing.. especially when there’s competition! 63. Jolene 2BO

Hello, this 31 year old mother of 3 boys has always had a song in her heart. Last August (2012) I recieved a pacemaker for my musical heart. The last four years have brought struggles of all kinds but if I can say I realize one thing, I’ll agree that life is too short. I have a passion for singing that has been with me my whole life. Life doesn’t let you see what is ahead though and I am ready to move forward toward something new and great. I believe now is my time to shine. Please share with me how to take advantage of this oppurtunity.

  64. Victoria Richardson

I soooo want to be apart of this show. I watch it every week with my family and I know I have what it takes to win. I am 30 years young and I have been auditioning for different shows and contest for over 15years. I’ve been booed off Apollo, eliminated from Gospel Dreams, eliminated from Sunday Best 6 times, told No by American Idol 3times, eliminated from Making The Band 2times, selected to sing the National anthem at the pre olympic games in 2001, won several local and state wide competions singing to name a few. The list goes on but I will not stop until I make it. I’m the daughter of a pastor and I grew up singing in the church so I am very well rounded musically. This is the competition I’ve been waiting for and if I am selected you won’t be disapointed. I’m ready to SING!!!!!!!

  68. Sara Torres

Hi!! My name is Sara Torres I’m 18 years old and i live in Tollhouse, CA . Ever since i was a little girl singing has always been my passion. I have always wanted to become a singer as a career but its hard for me to be away from my mom and 5 sisters. Since before i could remember my mom has taken care of all of us girls all on her own, my dad never helped out with child support and their has always been money problems all throughout my life but she has always managed to provide everything a girl needs as she grows up. I have always felt like I need to give back to my mom because she has worked so hard to be there for all of us girls and she has never given up, shes the strongest person i know and i believe its time for someone to be there for her and help her out. If i auditioned for The Winner Is i believe i can make it pretty far in the competition and it would be a dream come true to perform in front of an audience to show people how much singing means to me and how much i want this just to help out the one person who has always been there for me. Help me give back (: I hope to hear from you soon, and if not then hey it wasn’t meant to be but thank you for taking the time to read what i had to say, Sincerely Sara

  69. Victoria Johnson

My name is Victoria Johnson but I go by Tori. I am 20 years old with the kindest soul you’ll ever meet. Singing is not only a passion of mine but its a big part of my family as well. Growing up, my dad has always been into playing the guitar and singing his heart out on stage. With his help I have been blessed to be able to sing my heart out and record a few songs in his recording studio. The only thing is, I haven’t been able to be individual and sing the things that I would like to. I think I deserve to be on this show because my whole life all I’ve ever wanted was for the world to hear what I have to offer. It’s not about fame or money. It’s just a lifetime of expierences that I want a taste of that could possibly lead to Niger and better things. I want my family to look at me and be proud of what I have accomplished and my strive and thirst for performing. I was a competitive cheerleader for most of my childhood and The rush that you get on stage is phenomenal. The adrenalin running through my blood is what I want to feel everyday for the rest of my life. This could be the foot in the door that I need to get where I want and to have my dreams become reality. I can then start living life!

  70. Sherrika Taylor

I like to sing but those I i sing for love to hear me sing soooooo. When I went to Iraq and served my country, singing was how I got through it. It boosted the morale of others around me and I promised that if I made it back home, then I would pursue this music thing. Those soldiers swore one day they would see my name up in lights and singing the national anthem at the superbowl. Perhaps this is one way to get to where I want to go. How do I sign up?
