LaKia BaileyI’m LaKia Jeniese! Since a toddler I’ve had the love for music. From leading solos in the children’s choir, to starring as “Evilene ” in my high school musical Play! Music has always been apart of my life. I believe I have GOD given talent to sing. It’s a way of life for me. Coming from humble beginnings, I felt my singing would make room for me to succeed on this world. However it hasn’t been that easy. I graduated from a performing arts high school where I practiced my craft day in and out . When I graduated in 2006, reality hit. I had to take care of myself financially, so I started work as a pharmacy technician.. & enrolled in school. To stay grounded In music I made sure to perform at as many open mics as possible.. Not being fulfilled, I then enrolled In Columbia College Chicago. A rigorous performing arts college, In the heart of Chicago! I knew I couldn’t afford it. However my Dreams were greater than my current situation at the time. With hardly any money, & faith pushing me I applied to the school, and got accepted! I LOVED the atmosphere, creativity oozed out of my pours! I met amazing artists who took risks just as I did!’ A year later, my fathers health turned for the worst which forced me to relocate, to help nurse him back to health. I moved to North Carolina, & became a Correctional officer. This job was promising & a good career choice for some, just not me.. After three years of working for the state of Nc, I resigned. I felt as though I had let my dreams Fade away..With my Fathers health up to par, & my family reminding me To SING, I left to follow destiny! I am currently back I’m the big city @ age 25. Michael JohnsonWell to start, I hope there’s not an age limit, I’m sort of a late bloomer to speak, I’m 54yrs old!! I have been singing most of my life, nothing professional back then. I seriously remember singing along with Michael Jackson & The Jackson 5. He’s not but a yr older than me. But back then it was fun. I’d make the comment, well there’s Michael Jackson and here’s Michael Johnson. I’ve always loved to sing, I grew up on the south side of town which is majority the poorer & black side of town. My best friend growing up from a young boy was John Pratt who was black. The Pratts lived right across the street, they had a big family, 9 boys, 3 girls, John had older brothers & sisters that were same age as my older brothers and sister so that was cool.John’s family had a gospel choir along with the James Sisters.One Tuesday went with John to practice and I new some of the songs, I couldn’t help it so I jump in an started singing along next thing I knew they asked me if I wanted to join their group, I was like HELL YEAH!!! That was my junior year in High school. That town back then had racial issues, even though I was white on the black side od town me and all my family were cool. I had been in band since junior high thru high school so music was always in my blood. Left Louisiana and moved to Dallas in 89. Did modeling for JRP. was asked if interested in going IMTA convention in LA. Went there took first place in singing competition that totally blue me away. Shortly after coming back to Dallas is when I met my 2nd wife, there went the modeling & singing career. Then 6yrs. later I was divorced and met my present wife who heard me singing in the shower and complimented me after getting out, we were just getting to know one another and that’s when she found out about my Modeling & Acting that I was trying to establish when I met 2nd wife. The Lord had blessed me for the last 18yrs. to find a woman who’s support and has strongly suggested me to get back in the industry and see where it takes me. I Auditioned for AGT 6 times, Three times I’ve made it to the Celebrity judges, 1st time was XXX before song was over. the other 2 times the Tracks could have been of better quality from what I ‘m used of rehearsing with. It was a great experience. Just started watching The Voice and I can kick myself in the butt for not watching sooner. Your group of Entertainers for coaches are THE BOMB!!!!! One thing I know I can bring is energy like nothing else and a variety of styles of music, 50’s & 60’s, R&B, Funk, Classic Rock, Country, & Blues. This Reply is for the 2014 Season. Alejandra RamosHello, my name is Alejandra Ramos. I’m 17 years old and have been singing since I was seven or eight years old. I was not a great singer when I was little, but I never gave up. When I turned 14 I began playing guitar. My freshman year I got in Mariachi, which is a musical class of Mexican culture. Before going into my Sophomore year I entered a program called Towers music. This program taught me how to control my voice and sing really well and also to learn about music in its deepest. I have been in 2 recitals and performed in many places because of mariachi. Music is my life. I’m hoping to go to college at UTSA and study Music Performance. I want an opportunity in showing the world what I am capable of. Though I am not a fan of today’s music, there is many songs out there I can sing well and in my way. I would like to also play and sing songs that were popular back then, but I would be shocked if people remembered them.
