Im daisha gaines from lubbock texas, and im 15 years old. Singing is my escape for everything. I sing all the time, at school, in the restroom, in the cafeteria, in the halls, in the gym, out on the football field when im not cheering, basketball games, in the shower, in my room, my backyard, ny grandmas house, in the car, on the bus, when im walking down the street. And im pretty sure sometimes even in my sleep. Music has helped me through alot and I feel the only way to repay it is to sing it. 12. Frank FEW Woods

Given name Frank E. Woods III, alter ego is Frank FEW. I’m a singer/songwriter currently a resident of Atlanta, GA by way of Ocala, FL. I’m a country boy at heart and proud of it.
Music has always been a passion for me and has transpired to be an expression of my art as well.
I first realized I could really sing when my Mom caught me singing My, My, My by Johnny Gill in the mirror when I was about 10 years old. Every time I got an audience following that she would be like “sing that son about the red dress”!
I began honing my skills and singing in the mirror led to singing in church, which led to winning Star Search in high school, to eventually signing an independent record deal at age 25, and then feeling like; I almost made it.
Ups and downs, highs and lows, lots of yes’ and plenty of no’s I still yearn for the opportunity to share my expression of music with the world. This show could be it. Finally my time to shine could be a reality. So win or lose, I simply refuse to give up on my dream. God is Real

  20. Paige Snider

Hi my name is Paige Snider. I am currently 10 years old. I live in a rural part of PA, about two hours North-East of Pittsburgh. Being that I am so young, I do not have a lot of experience. I do however, sing in my church at times and for the last two years I have been chosen to sing the national anthem at our local HS sporting events (such as basketball, soccer games, and wrestling tournaments and also at my YMCA Gymnastics Team Competitions). I also will be singing at one of the games at our minor-league baseball games-The Altoona Curve (affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates). I would love to work on expanding my singing career. So when my mom and I seen this opportunity, we thought this would be a perfect way to try and make this dream of singing, a reality! My family would be delighted to open our hearts and home to the person that can help me achieve this. Also, our community is one that would open their hearts and doors to make someone feel welcome. We are a community that pulls together to support each other through good events and bad. I am in many different sports, such as soccer, cheerleading, and gymnastics. I was also elected to be on my 5th grade student council.. I am telling you this because being a part of these activities has taught me to be dedicated and work hard to achieve my goals and be the best I can be. Please consider me to be on your show. I would love to learn as much as I can from you.

Growing up, and still to this day, I take on any opportunities I am given to live my dreams. When I was a little girl, I was so dramatic. Everything I did was acting. Everytime I was tv, I just get so envious of all the stars…I want to be up there was other them. I used to have my mom watch me while I sing and perform different scenes and songs, (some from tv, some I wrote.) I have many big dreams and I’m ready to start living them. I am a harf worker. I promise to never give less than 100%. I can assure you that if you decided to work with me, I would not make you regret it. All I want to do is entertain people all over the world. Please consider me for this. It would be an honor to work with you. Thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity.

  24. Patrick R. cole

Hello and to whom this may concern,
My name is Patrick Cole and most people who know me just call me Cole and I’m good with that. For nearly 13 years now I have struggled with the ups and downs of figuring out my path and to what direction I should travel. From an award winning rock and country lyricist and song writer with VH1 Save The Music Song Of The Year writers competition, to a father and son act entertaining the local masses and competing together to reach a part of both our goals. Today I am writing here to say I’m here on my own and wish to share with the world songs within myself, from the ones already ( a few on you tube @ thebandcole ) and just a couple few things I’ve done over the years on myspace. I am tuned in and am I ready to change my outcome? You bet…. I am a self employed mason contractor who does all the work or nearly 90% of it. Over the years I have competed in the local and state level competitions so I could work on perfecting my stage performances and singing. When competing against children you better learn real fast how to overcome the age gap. I have done well for myself in learning much from the competing part and have become a better entertainer from it as well. My songs have meaning and I would risk my making a career on performing my own work verses a song by another artist if need be to show that I am truly ready and I am not just the ordinary ” Concrete Cowboy “. Please consider me for this opportunity. I believe that if you can think it ,it’s possible. What the mind can conceive and believe it can achieve. I am 49 years of age and all who have known me for years think Im in my very late 30’s if not just breaking the 40 gap..much appreciated. I do have the guts and I do have the ability and yes I am probably very rough around the edges but I know you can mold this machine into success I just need someone to believe as much as my wife and I do. Thanks so much
    Keep Growing
    Patrick ” COLE “

  28. Latoya Mercer

Hi I’m a music buff who loves to sing, study, and share music. I have a degree in music and have always aspired to sing on a higher level. I never aspired to be in the forefront but only a background singer. But, this seems like a great opportunity to not only be the girl next door but also to be center stage. I’ve research many singing shows and never found them to fit my character until I came across this particular show. Allow me to be your star..your next door superstar.

singing is what I’m meant to do with my life. I’ve been singin since i could talk lol I’ve never been afraid to go for what I want, it’s just the way I was raised. The only reason I haven’t been able to have a breakthrough with my music is because I’ve never been able to obtain the resources, but with a little help I could inspire, and reach my dreams. I’ve got a lot to give to the world and music is my nitch so to speak. I intend on bringing soul into the way I sing and passion most importantly. 32. Katherine Smith

Hello, my name is Katherine Smith. I am 22 years old and I live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I’ve always had a passion for singing since I was 8 years old. I am an upcoming local singer/songwriter and I have performed for many different benefit events with other locals such as Crohn’s Disease and Toys for Autism. I have auditioned for American Idol. I did not make it, but the experience was worthwhile. For me, singing is a way for me to express my thoughts, feelings and to tell a story. There have been a lot of struggles that I have been through for a while, but it doesn’t stop me for what I love to do. A lot of people see me as the quiet girl, but once they hear my voice, they think I’m an angel. My future goal is to show the world that I have a voice that is so unique. I have a YouTube page that I have done some covers for and more will come in the future. An opportunity for your show will get me one step closer to my accomplishments. Thank you.

I’ve won Talent shows in California and even performed at fairs, My family found out i can hold a note at four years old and would take me to karaoke nights were i would sing one on one to old couples in Pizza hut for Dollar bills, Then it advanced to recording in studios and winning hometown talent shows. “You sing so good!” Or “You need to go to american idol!” Ive heard it all over and over not to brag or anything. Currently Im in chrous At my school and students that i have singed for root me as “The best singer in the school” i was also the best at my previous school last year in my 10th Grade year and actually probably most the schools ive been too. Just recently i went to karaoke night in Florida at applebees singing the magnificent Christina aguileras Bound to you song and a little girl was so excited from what my family said standing by me everytime i hit a high note in the song. That same night a man chased me and my grandma out the door and gave us information on a producer he worked with claiming that he can “Get me out there” and that “Labels would be flocking” but if i were to ever get signed his team would get something out of it.. My grandma was all like “Yeah sounds great” but she made me pass that offer unfortunately. Sorry for bragging but i just really want this, im tired of hiding.. i know i can amaze everyone, i just never got the chance too. Im mexican and black and i quote from some people have a “Unique look and to never change”.. Just Give me a chance, You wont regret it.

  41. Michelle

I have been in love with music as long as I can remember. Just like so many young people in this country I got caught up in drugs and running the streets of Detroit at a young age. I have been writing and winning awards for writing since first grade but the pull of my romantic notions about living the life of a drug dealer and “gangster” were stronger at one point in my life and led me down a road that most don’t come back from. Thank God that He had a bigger plan for me. I now sing all over the metro area and have been blessed with music mentors that have a wealth of knowledge and experience. Detroit is loaded with such people. I’m ready to go to the next level and have 63 of my own songs gifted to me by a power much greater than myself. I may not be the greatest but I have a story to tell in my music. I believe in it with my whole heart. I know that being a musician is so much more than just applying to a tv show and becoming nationally known, this is something that I have lived my whole life and I have to open my guts to perform. Singing is really exposing your soul and not everyone can do it., I try and I am a constant student trying to soak up all of the knowledge that other musicians are willing to give away. I look forward to seeing this show and I know that if I don’t end up on here I WILL make it somehow.

  42. Temitope Adekunle

  44. Belinda Scott-Graham

Its MY Turn! I know you will not be disappointed because l have the voice that its so uniqu! After being loyal to my family, my job and my community, l am now ready to break out and share my most humble gift with the world! I waited to balance my time and energy to the important things in life, my children. They are now of age to let me go forward and give myself to fulfill my my dream.l love singing and as a career nurse,l have given and shared thus gift to the hopeless, helpless and disparate, which l love doing. I’ve been close to launching out, but l humbly chose to care for my precious mother until her demise. I was given an opportunity to compete at The Apollo in 2007, but indiscriminately, my mother died the day before. I have won local talent shows here in Florida. Just recently, l launched out and auditioned for the next season of”America `s Got Talent `and awaiting their decision in January 2014. I have a unique voice of spontaneous quality, I’ve been told. I don’t pride myself in hoarding for and being the best, because l believe that God graces each one to reach one by the humility of loving mankind. I don’t aspire to try to please all, but l am humbly joyful when my singing will change or touch a life for the better.
I am a career LPN of almost 20 years. I am still very young at heart and now desire to fulfill my personal dream; to sing!

  49. Joy Sweeney

I’m Joy Sweeney, and I have been singing from a young age, I love it. I wish that I could be on the show because, I feel that music makes people come together. Makes them understand that no matter the different languages we all speak, we are all the same. The reason I would like to be on the show is because I want to reintroduce music to the world, I want America to be seen as more than our music videos, movies, tv shows and so on that get banned in other countries because of their content. I want to show the world that music is still in it’s cocoon, soon to become a beautifully colored butterfly. I hope I see you guys on my doorstep.

I listen to all genres of music but at the age of 8 I got my first vinyl 33 record of George Strait and that same year a guitar and by age 12 I knew I was moving to Nashville. I moved to Nashville when I just turned 18 years old and I did open mic nights all around town. I remember sitting in a corner doing calculus homework just waiting for my chance to sing, one song, one thirty in the morning to the empty chairs. Music is my life I love writing it, singing it and performing it. I love performing live. I want the music to be great but I also want people to have a great experience.

its about time i get lucky enough to be selected to one of these competitions im so tired of seeing these half talented ppl on these shows and they get all the opportunities that hard working talent like myself would die for but we are always expected to stand in long never ending lines at open calls and over exhausted, drained and overlooked meanwhile the less deserving are selected and we are forced to watch them weekly try and prove that they are worthy of the opportunity they were given overriding many who were more fitting to compete and possibly launch a serious and long-term career!

    thats all!

  59. Taylor

Hello, my name is Taylor Nicole and I am currently 19 years old and just recently moved back to Chickamauga, GA from Cleveland, OH, which is 2 hours from Nashville and 2 hours from Atlanta. Ever since I was a little girl I was that one person that always locked themselves in their room dancing and singing around into their hairbrush. I have had a rough time growing up and fitting in with anyone I was around. By the time I graduated high school I was in 5 different states and 15 different schools. High school I stayed all 4 years. I have been bullied and through the hardest of times. Music is the only thing that gets me through. When I found out I was staying in the same place and wasn’t going anywhere, my mom immediately enrolled me into dance classes where I professionally danced for 3 years because after my 3rd year I couldn’t afford it anymore. I also wound up taking singing a whole lot more seriously and figuring out that that’s what I want to do with my life. I post covers on youtube in hopes to build my self confidence and that people would appreciate me more. I am currently in Full Sail University as well doing my program online. Sometimes I wish I could wake up one day and all my dreams come true but for now I just work day in and day out when I’m not working at American Eagle or doing homework. Music is definitely the easiest way for me to express myself and hopefully connect with those listening to me. Songwriting I guess you could say is my tough spot, I was never really good at writing. I am definitely excited to see what this show brings and what it has to offer.

  61. Ashley Carlson

Hello im Ashley Carlson, I am 18 years old. i been singing since the age of 3. Singing is my life. it helps me through any problem i have. i am able to pick a song and sing it that connects to the way i feel. Singing is therapy to me. It’s my passion, my inspiration. Singing is who i am! Without Music there is no me. Music to me is more then just listening to the beat nd hearing the words. Music is the story behind it, the story a person builds up towards the song. Every song has a story or a message behind it. With me, Music, singing, is a big major part of my life. If i wasnt to sing, i dont know where my life will be. Singing is the best thing that has ever came to my life. Its not only a talent. But its Me! Its who i am!!!

  62. Renee P Howard

Hi my name is Renee, I’m 32 years old. I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember. It doesn’t matter the genre: R&B, country, blues, alternative or gospel. . If you can name it, I can sing it. I started singing to my deaf mother, when I was five years of age, the “Greatest Love of All” by Whitney Houston. Whitney was my epicenter of sound and I immolated her high-soprano noted. I learned to appreciate almost any sound and would hum a tune to anything. As I grew, I found that I could imitate Whitney’s pitch and that I could stay on key walking and running. She was a true singer and my inspiration during a trying childhood. I cried like a baby when she passed away. I also loved “Annie,” the original musical and watched it every Christmas. I listened to Annie (Aileen Quinn and Carol Burnett) sing and ( would challenge myself to sound just like her during the scenes. I knew if I could sing like her I had “the right voice”. Like many of my peers, I signed up with Columbia House music and ordered tapes, amongst Jodeci and Luther Vandross was Annie’s soundtrack. I had a boom box and all the songs I ever wanted.
I was permanently placed in foster care at the age of 10. At that time I lived with an old couple that loved music from the 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s. I learned about great artists such as, Nat King and Natalie Cole, Gladys Knight, Dionne Warwick and Patti Labelle. I learned about Motown bands and groups such as: The Supremes, The Five Tops and The Miracles. I watched classic films, as well, so while everyone my age was doing the “rump shaker” video on BET. I learned about: poodle skirts and the “jitter-bug “. “The Lady sings the Blues” and the “The Jackson Five”, were two my favorite movies. They taught me determination. I was exposed to the fascinating presence of Michael Jackson, Diana Ross and Sidney Poitier. Knowing, understanding and replicating great music has always been a passion. In saying that, please afford me the opportunity to perform and make you a believer in my abilities.

  63. Denise Kitchens

Hi my name is Denise Kitchens, I am a 38 year old mom of 3 beautiful children who deserve a wonderful life. I hope you can make that happen! I have been singing gospel music my whole life. It is my passion to use the calling God has given me. I wont to give hope to our confused generation and peace with all the turmoil that our world is enduring. I won’t say I am a victim, but I am an overcomer of domestic violence, and through music I want to help and show others a better way for life, they don’t have to fall for the enemy’s devices. We as a family have struggled so hard financially, emotionally, and mentally. But by the grace of God, he will bring us through. I pray you can help me achieve my goals! Please view my you tube

I’ve always dreamed of living out not only my dreams, but hers through me as well. I now have a young daughter and I sing to her and she sings back 🙂 This would be an amazing opportunity to not only live out my dreams, but, as my daughter grows up to show her that if she believes in something, she can achieve it!! Thank you all for your time! hope to speak with you soon!!!

  66. Rose

I have waited patiently my whole life to be discovered, and I believe deep in my heart that now is my time. I have literally been singing ever since I could talk, and now that I’m 22 and a college graduate my passion for it is stronger than ever. I have a vocal performance degree and am doing all that I can to market myself. I am trying so hard to embrace the struggle of being an artist, and not a day goes by that I don’t spend most of my time thinking about it. I don’t want to take anything from anybody. I just want to have a career as a singer and I know in my heart that it is what I need to fulfill my purpose. I believe in wishing and dreaming now more than I ever have. I need to meet and work with the right people to help me help myself become who I am supposed to be.

I have been singing since I could talk. all through school I was in choir classes, I had a private voice teacher and sang at restaurants for my school money. my dream and passion has always been to sing. I’ve had a few offers to record when I was young but I was thrown out to the street as a teen and ended up having to struggle with homelessness for a very long time. Then I ended up being a single mother. Been through years of tough times and recently had delt with heart problems and chest wall problems but I haven’t given up hope on my dream. I’m now 29 years old with a seven year old and almost lost my voice a few times to laryngitis but I come back even stronger .My son also shows signs of talent he loves to sing and dance and I want to be his roll model and show him that no matter what life throws at him that he should never give up on his dreams that he can make it in whatever his heart leads him to. I would love to have this chance.

  69. Tianna Stewart

  70. Treneka Long

I am a independent young lady from West Memphis, AR that has been singing since I was five! I sing gospel & r&b. I love to sing because its in my blood also I have many family members who sing as well! Many people says that I have the talent so go for it, and I responded it don’t hurt to try! I have audition for abc’s “The Voice” and I have recorded in the studio! So I believe that I have what it takes to become a singer I just need some more encouragement! Can’t wait to hear from You!!!

  71. Felicia

I’m submitting on behalf of my husband. He loves to sing and believes it is truly his gift. However, he’s a bit of a “man’s man” and I didn’t really know he could sing so beautifully until we had been married 9 years. He says he was always too afraid and I guess self-conscious; always wondering what others would think of his voice. He is very soulful but light…if that makes any sense. Since this time, he sings in a choir and leads beautiful solos. When he sings I always close my eyes and wrap myself in the beautiful words. He’s a wonderful father and very handsome husband at 36 years of age. I would like him to have the opportunity to ‘make it’. Not for the money or fame, but simply for happiness in sharing his gift. Many thanks. Boy, did I use the word beautiful a lot, lol.

  73. Monique Brooks

Hello my name is Monique Brooks.!! I am from 19 year old and from Nashville Tennessee and I think that I deserve an opportunity because of all the years that I discovered i had a voice no one has ever really heard it. Living in Nashville( Antioch, Tennessee) I have never really been blessed with the opportunity or fundings to be able to travel and do vocal competitions or put my voice out to be heard. I also was always to shy and to scared of what people would say about me if they didn’t like me.But one day it hit me, with plenty of help from family and friends that God Gave me this voice to use and touch people.! I think I deserve a chance because just like every other person that responds, Im willing to put my whole heart and soul into this completion. I know it’s a long shot, but music is me, I love breath and worship it everyday.! Only God knows just how honored I would be to get a chance at a once in a life time experience like this. I would work my BUTT off for a spot and I’m willing to prove it to anybody that gives me the chance. Thank you <3 be blessed

  74. Katie

I have an ability to take any song out there and turn it into any genre I’m given. I love singing and I love playing with music to make it different. I am an amazing singer but there is always someone out there that is better than you. I know that, and I think all good singers do. The difference is making it your own and taking the music you know to a different level nobody has heard.

    Excited for the show!
