Allison MatiasHello, My name is Allison Matias. I’m an 18 year old Hispanic female college student. This is my first year attending college. The Hunger Games has always been one of my very favorite book series! When I saw the first movie, I was so excited! The characters were, literally, brought to life as if they jumped right out of the book and onto the big screen. I seriously believe I should be considered for a role because I hold a deep love for this particular book series. It always struck me as original, unique, and attention grabbing, unlike any other. I could never put a book down from this series and I felt as if I was part of the story. I lived in Panem and experienced the poverty and hardships of those that resided in the lower districts. I was the outcast with the weight of the world on her shoulders. The story was always one that I could relate to because I know what it feels like to have someone establish themselves and another group of people as those “in power” while the rest of society was placed on a type of, I would say, hierarchical pyramid. It is much like how society is today, where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, not to mention, just like Katniss, I was forced to grow up quickly in order to help my family survive, prosper, and make my loved ones proud. Just like in The Hunger Games, life requires sacrifices to be made and I have made many sacrifices and difficult decisions in my 18 years. Being able to audition and especially obtaining a character role would be more than an honor to me! This would be a dream come true. I hope that you will truly take me into consideration.
