I’ve been in love with the world of Middle Earth ever since I watched the first Hobbit film, and started reading the books. I always loved how Peter Jackson’s movies were based on the book, but had a lot of his own quirks added into it. My two biggest moments on the stage so far are playing with the Utah Symphony on the piano twice, and attending Musical Theater at my school. Ever since my first experience on acting, I became addicted. I love The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit more than any book that I’ve read, and that’s saying something! Not only thrilling adventures, different places, and mythological beings in this book makes it so wonderful, but also the languages, writings, and history of what came to be. Not only did Tolkien create a place, he created a whole new world and dimension. The complex world enables you to delve even deeper into the story, and understand the plot completely, and why it happened. From a dwarf to an elf, I would be more than happy to be anyone. Not only that, but to go to a beautiful place such a New Zealand that is filled with nature would be beyond my dreams! I have brown eyes and long, jet black hair. I’m full Chinese, though I have been living in the U.S for my while life, and I speak both English and Chinese fluently (and some Latin and Elvish!). Hana CorbettI will be attending the British Stunt Academy Seminar in March and then will go on to complete the four phases of the Warrior Masterclass. On completion of this, I will then be put on to the official stunt register. My main ability is horse riding as I have two horses of my own in amongst a variety of other animals. I would like to specialise my stunt work in horse riding and animal training. I am active, I played sports like football from a young age and I regularly attend the gym, zumba and yoga classes.After completing sixth form I travelled for four months to different parts of Asia and Australia. It was the best part of my life, it changed me in to a better person and gave me newfound confidence – therefore travelling to New Zealand would not be a problem. Megan BivinsWhy hello there! If you haven’t noticed, my name is Megan! I am a big fan of LOTR and the Hobbit! I really like watching the movies and am now starting on reading the books. I have many goals in life, and I am not going to bore you to tears with details. Being a part of a movie, or maybe being an actress one day, is one of them. This would be really fun to be in. I just have a big imagination, and many people think all teenagers are the same, I’d always been different than them. My age is 16 years old, and I live in OK, USA. I have long, dark brown hair that reaches to my lower back, and dark brown eyes. I’m Asian, so I have tanned skin too. I don’t quite remember if I’m exactly 5’6″ or if I grew to 5’8″. Being a junior in high school taught me that I have one more year of school, then it’s off to college, or even getting a job. Being different is like standing up for yourself, only it’s your life and you live it like you want to live it. One of my favorite quotes is from one of my favorite role models- a game character- and that inspired me to do many unique things. “Courage is the magic that turns dreams into reality”. What’s the point in telling my dear reader or readers) some things that may not compare me to others, but only to the person I am talking to? This is why I WANT to be in this film. OR maybe others, who knows? Because I KNOW I can do this. Because this is my courage, to turn my dream into my reality. IT is a great opportunity, but it would be greater if I learn from it- even live it. It’s a dream, a dream that I find is fantastic. I’ve always been seen as the girl who’s really smart, or the girl who’s a bookworm, but it would be nice if later in my life I was an actor and have many kids/teens/adults say, “SHE is my inspiration because even though she was normal, she had goals that made her, her.” So this is why I want to be in the third part of the hobbit. Because I can prove to the world that even normal and different people, can achieve their dreams. I like being myself, but for once, I would like to be different; having others think twice when they look at me. There we go! I really didn’t intend to sound boring, because that would be well- boring! So I decided that this was what I was going to write, because this is my heart, that I poured into this one comment on why I should be a part of the cast of the third part to the hobbit. Ann-Kathrine MikkelsenI have a tremendous love and respect for Tolkien and his universe, have been reading his books and stories since I was 9 years old, and would find it a great honor to be able to help bring Middle-Earth to life for the audience and the fans. When I was 12 years I was in a school-play where we played The Hobbit, it was a great experience, and was what lead me to the passion I have about theatre and filmmaking industry that I got now. I am 24 years old, 175 cm tall, and weigh around 55 kg. My eye color is blue-grey and my hair is natural ash-blonde with some red tints all depending on the lightning. I have 5 years experience at the amateur theatre-scene where I have been at a drama school, making acts like Shakespeare, Macbeth, ‘Den stundesløse’ and also a single original musical called ‘Bukker Dukker?’. After that, I have been in a troupe of young people in a theatre group called Eventyrkisten for a year, where we have been out making small acts and hand-puppet shows for the community and children. I have also been volunteering in full costume at medieval festivals twice. Personality Wise I am completely focused when working including acting, I have a lot of energy and very idea-rich as well as patient, and eager to learn as well as a quick learner. When I go in for something I go in for it and give myself 120%. Of skills, beside from acting, I have a lifelong experience in horseback riding, experience with using a bow, as well as singing and dance. I also have a strong background in prop and costume design and making together with artistic skills too. In my spare-time I do a range of creative activities, such as hand and machine sewing for costume competitions, which i also design myself. Writing short stories and spending hours coming up with new story ideas to excite the minds of my readers, including writing lyrics for songs, which i love to sing to as well. On top of this, I have a keen passion for drawing and many other fine arts, which i began to take to the digital world too, and finally, I love to explore and learn plenty about photography. I hope that I by being part of this can give me a wide door to more open things, such as the film and theatre industry once again, as I have a great passion for theatre/musicals as well as the technical things that happens behind the camera. Hoping that it might help me get the experience in how the film industry really works on set and to make a fantastic film. I admit that I am from Denmark, where the opportunities in getting educations as well as working in the actor and filming business, sadly aren’t very big. We have 3 acting schools which each take in 8 students a year. My biggest dream would be to work with filmmaking and acting, as I really love the companionship you all get together, both as actor but also as instructors and stand-ins. I am aware that my role might be ‘just’ an extra, however i feel this would be the first step into achieving my goal in life and get the experience and education i so desperately crave. It will lead to so much more, and would be a great honour for me to see Peter Jackson’s work up close. I also have some stage experience. However, I believe that this would be an amazing experience for me since I would like to move from theatre to film.
