With the help of two Cochlear Implants, I am able to hear and talk the same as a typical hearing person. This has not nor does it hold me back in any way at all but has motivated me to work hard to show that a “deaf” person can do anything that a hearing person can, they just cannot hear. I have had experience in acting and in the drama group growing up. I graduated from Film School in cleveland to become a Filmmaker. Back to my reason for wanting to be on the show, I think that this show shows people who believe deaf people are retarded that they are better then they think. I have always wanted to learn sign language (I only know how to say “sorry”, “thank you”, “I know”, I can spell my name, and thats about it). Please let me know if I’m cut out for it. (P.S. NanyamkaMy name is Nanyamka I have been doing acting, poetry, music and dance basically all of my life. I am an african-american actor. I come from a family that is very passionate about acting and poetry. I love to express myself, I am know as a trickster sometime. I really would not call it that but at times I practice my acting in real life to make myself seem more natural. I of course tell people late on before things get hectic that I was just acting, and they all help me. I have not really been able to set out and pursue my acting because people in my immediate family where always sick. Also, i found out that my parents are very protective. I fell in love with the show since the first episode. I like how it brings awareness to deaf people. This show build them up and show that they are not as vulnerable or needy as people think they are. It has made me want to learn sign language even though I have proven to be horrible. I am a wonderful actor I can be a great add as a serious character, or more of a fun/funny character. I am currently just a college student going in the field of helping people, mostly kids. CarlosMy name is Carlos, I’m 18 years old, and I live in Florida. I have always loved acting and music. I was born with only one arm. I’m missing my two hands. But my disability has not prevented me from accomplishing anything. I learned how to play the drums with my one arm and I’m really good at it. I also learned how to play the piano with my toes and I’m also good at it. I would love to become part of this show. I have loved it from the beginning. I know I would do an awesome job in it. There are so many things that could happen in the show with a person with no hands that plays the piano with his feet. Please take me into consideration. I have always loved acting and I will always do. I think one of the things that make me a good actor is the fact that I have gone through many things through out my life.
