Danielle McDonaldHello Opening Act – E! YOU SHOULD MOST DEFINITELY CHOOSE ME! 🙂My name is Danielle McDonald, I’m seventeen years old, a senior in high school, and I’m from Haverhill, MA. I absolutely LOVE music and everything about it. I mostly sing Pop, Pop/ Country, and upbeat Pop/ Dance songs. Growing up I always knew I wanted to make a career out of being a performer. I’m sure every singer has said that one time or another that they want to make a career out of singing. But I knew this from a fairly young age. At the age of 2, my father would play “How Do I Live” by Leann Rhymes and I would twirl in circles and lip sing to this song. Whenever my father would video tape my sisters and I when we were young, I would always fight to be the center of attention and would always try to put on a performance for my parents. Especially if it was a new song I learned in music class in elementary school. Once I got to be about 11 years old, my parents bought be a piano for Christmas. Although I never had a music lesson before and didn’t know how to read music, I was determined to teach myself how to play. I would look on YouTube and search my favorite songs of the time and memorizes the simple keys being played so I could show my family. I did this for awhile until the chord actually broke from using it so much. So, I stopped playing for awhile. In middle school, I began singing and taking part in the Drama Club where I took on several lead roles and continued this as I entered high school.I’ve always had the passion and drive to want to succeed in life. I’ve been told “No you can’t” plenty of times throughout my journey to the top, and although it puts me down a bit, I still keep going. Whenever I’m told I’m not “good enough” or “This is a tough industry” or “You’re never gonna make it” It gives me that extra push to wanna prove those people wrong. Especially my parents. No parent wants to see their child fail at something they love, especially in the field of the arts. I’ve auditioned for American Idol and was turned down in the first round. I audition for Berklee College of Music, and was denied acceptance because the Music Field is SO COMPETITIVE! But I wanna be able to say, “I didn’t give up on my dream.” There’s not a day that goes by that I’m not singing. Whenever I’m in my car driving, or in the shower, or in my room alone I sing. I sometimes annoy my family cause I do it so much, but music is in my blood.
