I learned a screen test with another individual and Tasha was very pleased with our presentation. We were believable. The title of the screen test was Silkwood. I played Dolly.It has always been a dream of mine to pursue acting. God has allowed me to pursue my dream at this time in my life. If Sara could have a baby at the age of 90, I can pursue an acting career at my age. I always thought that to play a role in any film would be one of those things that I could only dream of. Not to say I don’t believe that dreams do come true, sometimes, we just get older and get a little more realistic about them as we go through life. Regardless, I still never gave up and I feel as though this would be the perfect role for me because of my passion and strive for situations like these in life. I mean, I can only try to imagine, as a mom, what it would be like to go through any tragic situation involving someone so dear to me and how much of an impact it would have on me psychologically. This goes beyond my experiences as a mom but more so from whom I really am within.It is what I have always done, looked BEYOND myself regardless of what I am personally going through in order to help others whether or not I can relate to what they are going through. Even though this is an ‘acting’ film role, I would take it beyond that and use this platform to help those women and men personally dealing with similar situations in real life to get through it. I believe that just by acting out this role, this is something others will be able to feel within because I will be acting out on my real emotions, my real experiences, my real beliefs. KELLY CROSBYI AM READY to work HARD and DEDICATE long hours to one of many of Mr. Tyler Perry’s great film/television creations. Mr Perry is a pillar in the community and I’m very Proud of him and all of his achievements. He is an inspiration to all and PROOF that there is a GOD. I too have stepped out on FAITH and I KNOW GOD WILL DELIVER. “HE” said it in his word. As a child I was cast in a principle role in “The Marva Collins Story.” Cicely Tyson and Morgan Freeman starred in this movie and Marsha Warfield (Night Court as “ROZ”) had the role of my mother. Since then I’ve always had the “acting bug” but did not truly pursue it until NOW due to being a single mother and not wanting my two daughters to have to live a possible unstable life. However, I have continued honing my craft by taking classes and participating in theatrical productions when my schedule permitted. Nia RodgersMr. Perry,I am unsure of why I even have the guts to write you. I have struggled with my self-esteem for years and have prayed about it often. when I was younger, I was performer through dance, and did that for fifteen years. I even auditioned for the an acting company in Philadelphia call the Rainbow company, I was 12. I had to audition by performing a monologue. I couldn’t decide on any so ended up writing my own and performing it. It was THE BEST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! I ended up getting a call back for a second audition, this time for dance. In my mind, I did not do as well as I hoped, and did not expect to get in. There were so many other great dancers there, I felt like didn’t measure up. Well I ended up getting an acceptance letter, but my insecurity got the best of me and I never went back. Ever since then, I have been struggling with my fear of becoming what I should be, an actress. I have NEVER auditioned for anything since then, and I have tried to work an ordinary 9-5 ( and I always feel off balance). I am NEVER as happy as I was that day I auditioned. It was a feeling I will never forget. I know this is my calling, but I am absolutely terrified! Fear has crippled me to the point of feeling stuck in place. I have prayed and prayed for the confidence and the opportunity to experience that feeling again. My mother keeps telling me that I will never be truly happy, unless I do God’s will. She has always believed this is God’s plan for my life, and deep down I know this is what’s right for me. I am ready to stop resisting. I stumbled across this site, and I cant even believe I am typing this to you! I hope this is my opportunity to get on the right track, to do what God has planned. It made me say I can do this I can act if I put my mind to it and just play the character and not me and be the other person; Be that peson for this role be that person for that role. the idea is to play the role of the character and not me ‘can you fulfill this job description for this charater role’ ?, take myself out and be that person for that role so when I audition for that role Im not me anymore. I just Play the character , and get so in deep with character motives /actions. Is like having a new body, when playing a role of another person life, putting all your energy to fulfill the this character life. so I be great for the acting path that I want to take on, all I need is a chance. the only thing holding me back I can’t say my self?.
