I always dreamed about being a model. At the age of 14 I started going on photo shoots and scouting for agencies. Unfortunately my mother was never very supportive of my dream and thought I would be better off if I focused on school and school alone. I moved away for college where I studied business and criminal justice and was signed shortly after a One Source Talent Agency. A few weeks after being signed I learned that I was pregnant and had to postpone my dream. I even had to put off my audition for America’s Next Top Model for models 5’6 and below. This was in 2008 and I have since then had another child. I know I still have it in me and that I am very capable of being a Top Model, I just need the opportunity to do so, which I am hoping to get here. Thanks you.

I am writing about myself and my ex husband of 18 years. Together we have 4 children. He and I both spent 2 decades in pursuing a career in the music industry. He is a great music producer and together we have over 200 recorded songs. We released an album in Japan and another here in the US in 2004. It’s never happened for us because the lack of finances. He is still in the Army and he is limited when it comes time to travel for promoting and performing. I had many missed opportunities to be signed because he and I were in a group and the majority of times record labels were only interested in signing me because there aren’t that many filipina/white female rap artists but I never took any deals unless they signed us as a group. He produced all of our own music and he and I both wrote and recorded all of our material. Although we’re divorced we still get along. I have remarried and he currently is dating someone. I do know that he is still pursuing music, to be associated with it professionally once he retires in a few years. Throughout our marriage, we spent just about every dime into our dreams. I can honestly say we’ve together invested over $200,000 in the past 18 years. I gave up a few years ago and decided to focus more on my children’s lives and future. It just never happened for us but I am still convinced had the opportunity come both he and I would still be married and be very very successful. I say Music is what brought us together and music is what tore us apart. It was a love hate when it came to the music.

Pushed away from my dreams because of my image sure changed after I lost 115lbs after Gastric Bypass Surgery. A self taught acoustic guitarist/singer/songwriter who just signed to cut a National Album with Tate Music Group, in under 3 yrs. Yes, IMAGE IN TODAY’S SOCIETY IS EVERYTHING, sadly, I’m still struggling to make this dream come true but meanwhile battling Systemic Lupus. With poor intake due to the Gastric Bypass Surgery it is very costly to continue my care therefore I cannot contribute any more funding toward my album.
Our band composes and writes ALL of our own material. I give them an idea and we just run with it. So far we are working on 72 original pieces. We literally have OUR OWN SHOW, OUR OWN STYLE, OUR OWN GIFTS!
This is my dream and I believe that I was given a chance with a new body to let my gift shine through and show the world that it is okay to think the way we do sometimes. Every song is based on REAL LIFE experiences. You won’t be let down, other than the sound quality =(
That is our battle. Right now with $3,000 I can cut a 9 track professionally mixed and mastered album at Tate Studios with my band. That includes the balance on the album and the flight to and from Oklahoma. SOUND IS EVERYTHING, so this is our main goal.
To just give you an idea. Some tracks include titles such as:
    Dangerous
    Christmas In Afghanistan
    The Flood
    Wait And See
    Trouble
    Sing Me A Song
    Always Be Mom
We are a solid unit and our own very unique blend of Blues, Southern Rock, and Country. I like to say PopRockATernative, call it what you will, it makes you FEEL!

So Greetings from Simply Mary for Talent, Modeling, Acting, Singing, Dancing, I love it all!

Hello, my dream is to be seen. I’ve been overweight pretty much my whole life with the exception of a few years. During those years where I wasn’t overweight I got to see how differently the world treats you. It’s much nicer and definitely no laughs. I’m about 70-80lbs overweight. Not only of I want to lose the weight for reasons already stated, I also want to do it for my health. Just recently I had a blood test and my doctor told me that I’m pre-diabetic. My grandmother passed from diabetes when I was in high school. I’m a single mother of two boys ages 12 and 15. I don’t want to get sick and not be able to take care of my boys. Also since putting on all this weight I’ve been very depressed and only leave my house for work, errands and dinner with my parents. I have no friends, no boyfriend, nothing. Well I do have my boys and I love them very much. I know I just need help losing this weight and then I will want to do other things. I need a better job too. I’m a maid and my kids say their ashamed of me because of what I do. I’m sure my family is too. They all have master degrees and six figure incomes. So you see how I’m the odd woman out. I know you have a lot of submissions I hope you pick me so I can get out of this pity party that I keep throwing for myself. Thanks for listening.

  6. Hilary

My dream is to be a celebrity stylist. I’m 35 years old, a mother, wife and a recovering alcoholic. My alcoholism and some other things, held me back from pursuing this dream. I now write a fashion blog (www.simpleaesthetic.com) and dream about the possibility of working with a stylist like Rachel Zoe. I would die for the opportunity to make a life long dream of being in the fashion industry come true! Thank you for your time.

  7. A. Friend

This submission is regarding a friend of mine who once had a dream but got into legal trouble 18 years ago when in college that prevented him from entering into the Pharmacy world as a Pharmacy Tech. He is 44 now and never served any time for the crime, it was not a violent crime and did not involve any drug involvement but he has been stuck in a field that was not part of his American dream. I would love for him to get a re-do. Please consider. Thank you, AB

  8. Lindsey Barber

It has been my dream to become an actress to work in movies and tv shows I have worked my butt off at such a young age to make my dreams come true. I have never had stage fright at 4 i started dancing. I get great pleasure just being there on stage or just in front of a camera.. My parents have been so supportive in what I wanna do with my life that they have put me through modeling and acting classes at 13 I did that pretty much my whole teenage life. While most young girls wanted to go out with there friends or go to slumber parties I wanted to take lessons in acting. And at age 17 we have been scammed out of 800 dollars. When I moved to Nashville I have been an extra in a few movies this is just something I just love to do something I was born to do but I don’t have the money to just pack my bags and move to LA or New York. Now I am 26 married and working in a preschool I am really happy but there is still something missing in my life I would like to see if I have what it takes to make it as an actress. I really believe I deserve a second change.

  9. Cheyenne Cortazar

I have always wanted to be a singer and an actress. It has been my dream forever. I have been in chorus at my school since it started in 4th grade. I really want to be known as someone who followed there dreams, not the shy girl that sits in class as quiet as a mouse. Please help me live my dream. Thank You!

  10. Deb C

I am writing this for my boyfriend. He began playing hockey at the age of 7. He played on travel teams, tried out for the US Olympics and played four years of college. He got hurt his last game while in college and thought he wouldn’t be able to ever play again. Since that time he has grown strong and is healthy and would love the opportunity to play again. He is older, but an unbelievable goalie. I’ve only been dating him for the past 5 years however when he speaks of what “he could of been” he becomes upset. He is an unbelievable man and deserves this opportunity. Thank you Deb

  11. Ronjadale Marvin Davis

My husband Ronjadale Davis had a terrible tragedy a few years ago his producer died and he has been lost every since to watch him throw away his dream of music to see. All his dreams buried with his producer his children and I as his wife it hurts me to say Ronjadale died that day with his producer to watch my husband. Not do music is like watching him die he use to wake up singing and the light that once shined in his eyes are now. Hopeless he is a wonderful music artist/writer and a superior father and husband I feel if he is given the opportunity to show. His talent to you the passion he has for music and the Desire to become a great inspiration to America. Sincerely Mrs Davis and GOD blessing upon you

  12. Jackie

My husband is an amazing man. He moved to Canada from St. Louis, Missouri, in order to be with myself and my son (who was 5 at the time) He currently works in a bank in upstate NY (near Buffalo) and crosses the border everyday from Canada so that he can help support us. He is a kind, considerate and amazing person. He would help anyone who asks him and has a gentle soul. He has given up everything for us, including his dreams. I know that one of his main dreams is to be a scout for a Pro-Hockey team. He loves hockey, football and baseball..and of course being from the St. Louis area loves the Rams, Cardinals and the Blues. He can tell you every young player out there for hockey, and he knows stats and information about each one. I think he would be an outstanding scout, given the opportunity. He loves watching young players and assessing their talent and their ability to make it to the next level. Please let me know if he is someone who could be considered for your show. He is someone who definitely deserves a second chance after giving up so much to be with me and my son and be a great step-father and wonderful husband. There isn’t anything he wouldn’t do for me, and there isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for him.

  15. Jimmy Sealy

I’d like to nominate my Dad for your show. He raised my sister and me after he and my mom divorced years ago. My sister was born with Cerebral Palsy and took all of his time to care for her and me. She was diagnosed with cancer in 2007 and he took her to all types of doctors to find the best care for her to fight the cancer. After more than 5 years of being in and out of the hospital before getting cancer and then over 5 years of fighting the cancer, and fighting with one of the cancer doctors about her care, she died on November 11, 2011.
My Dad hasn’t had much joy since and other than raising me and my sister his true love was driving race cars. He has always wanted to drive either in road racing or stock cars again because he quit when I was born. When I was home on leave from the Marines a few years ago before my sister was diagnosed with cancer, he treated me to driving the racing Corvettes at Texas Motor Speedway, and he ran circles around me! I know he did some dirt track racing, too.
If you could give him the chance to drive again I think it would bring some happiness back into his life, which he really deserves. Thank You.

  17. Jennifer Wemstrom

I’m applying for my husband, Scott Wemstrom, who has always dreamed of being a Firefighter. Scott always wanted to be a firefighter, but early in our marriage I discouraged him from pursuing it because I thought it would be too dangerous. But as time went on I realized it was his true dream and he was born to help people. He started applying, and did extremely well on all the physical and written tests. But no departments were hiring in our area. He tirelessly applied over and over year after year, and was always at the top of the candidate list, but still no one was hiring. As he got older his chances were even further diminshed because most departments had an upper age limit of when you could apply. He has spent our whole marriage dedicating his life to our family. He has been our sons’ cub scout cubmaster, baseball coach, basketball coach, and volunteered at school. But he does very little for himself. I still feel guilty to this day that I discouraged him early on from being a firefighter because I believe if he started earlier, he would have been able to get on with a fire department. When I heard about this show I had this strong feeling it was tailor made for Scott. He is such a hard worker and I know if he could just be given a shot he would be an amazing firefighter regardless of his age. And the other “sign” is that Scott is originally from St. Louis and a huge Kurt Warner fan. He has no idea that I am submitting him for this show. It would be so amazing if we could surprise him and give him a shot at fulfilling his dream. Thank you so much for your consideration! Jennifer Wemstrom

  18. Jhanyce Wilson

    Hello,
I’m Jhanyce and I’m writing this for my aunt that didnt think I would actually do. I’m writing this because my aunt has always had a huge passion for dancing since shes been little. She never took the shot because she’s never had the push to actually pursue her dream and then on top of that having a baby at twenty-one out of college early, living back with her mom and going back and fourth she never took that chance to go out and do what she does best which is dancing. She is now 30 going on 31 and still trying to find her way and doesn’t have a job because she took the leap of faith and decided to leave her hometown chicago and come to live with her sister who is stationed in Jacksonville to find her way. I finally found this show and heard of it from my mother and I thought maybe this can be her shot at actually doing something she loves and smiling not having to be miserably and complaining like she does which is a pain in my butt. Her name is leslie Foney and if you guys would like to chat there’s my email and that’s all i have to say for now.

  20. Prince L. Miller

For starters, when I was a kid growing up my mother had her own Television show in Beloit, WI entitled “The Laura Miller Show” in the early 90’s to about 2007; it was only local so nothing big. I was feature on her show a few times growing up, but never had the time to do it regularly because of grade school and living with my father from time to time. I am currently in my senior year to complete my Associates Of Applied Arts Degree in Visual Communications; and the career field(s) I would like to go into after graduation are Video Production & Motion Graphics. Besides my college major, I really want to be an actor. It has been a dream of mine since being on my mothers TV show. I own a huge movie collection and can recite lines from numerous movies & TV shows. Since I am a video major I have created numerous videos, some for school related projects and others were just for personal fun with friends and family. I have written numerous scripts, directed, filmed, & edited all of my own stories. Being a video major has made me want to take my talents to the next level and all I need is that one opportunity. With that being said, I believe I will be a perfect addition to add to the cast because of my ambition, motivation & acting skills. Please see the Links listed below to view some of my latest work. Thank you for your time and hope to hear from you soon.

  21. Darren Thompson

Let me start by saying I could have been one of the greatest in baseball. I played every position on the field. There wasn’t a play that I couldn’t make. But at the end of my high school career I hurt my arm so I didn’t go to college. I started working right after school and left sports alone but always wanted to give it another shot but never got the chance. Until I came across this. So if I got the chance I will make it NO IFS ANDS OR BUTS. DC we back.

  22. Corey

This is actually for my husband!

    Age: 30
    Height: 6’1
    Ethnicity: Caribbean- American

My husband is half man half amazing. We’ve been married over 6 years now. When he met me I had 5 children from a previous marriage, but despite this obstacle, he asked for my hand about 6 months after we met and we’ve been one BIG happy family ever since. Over the last 2 years I’ve noticed an absence in him, his drive has been more about providing for our family that is now 7 🙂 he works his butt off so that I can care for our children. His dream was to coach professional basketball and because of the nature of the business, he just hasn’t met the right people! HE DESERVES THIS CHANCE!!! He took his dreams and put them on the back burner and I truly believe this is his time to shine

Thanks for helping dreams come true.

    Sincerely,
    Nicole

  23. Solomon Williams

Well, I’ve always tried to find my way being that I grew up in a crap basket place in Jersey City because I knew was meant for more. I grew up in a unstable home in the Duncan projects and even though there was a full house to me it was empty being that I am the youngest. Virtually everyday I had to go through some kind of physical altercation, which caused me to take up boxing. After learning I wanted more but between school, family, lack of HOME I could t do it. As I got older I started back and was going to have my first fight in hoboken at the W hotel but that didn’t happen because my trainer overtrained me and my tricep muscle tore. After 7 months I tried to go back but life had kicked in and bills had to be paid until I found another opportunity. I started going to Global boxing in north bergen nj and started getting it back and was excited and I had to stop boxing because my significant other started showing sign of MS and it haz been a difficult time ever since. I moved to Florida and go to a few sessions at Palm Beach boxing but its hard. . BOXING, fighting is what I know I can do and if I just had the extra hand to let me know its okay to persue my dream, that would mean everything and I could be proud.

I’m 30, 240lbs, athletic, fast (for a heavier weight), and I’m willing and determined! !!

  24. Wendy Swindell

Hello Mr. Warner, one of my dreams I had to put aside to help my mom who is ill(which I don’t regret) and history of prior stroke myself put a dent in my dreams of playing the violin professionally with a symphony. When I was in middle school my mom bought me a violin so I could play in my school “strings” assembly. I knew right then that playing the violin and with travelling around the world was something I wanted to make a career. I would love the opportunity to learn to play the violin again and travel around the world playing music. I am very outgoing, love to socialize, travel, make new friends and goal oriented. Thanks for your time and consideration!

  25. Wendy Swindell

Hello Mr. Warner, I am 36 yrs old and one of my dreams I’ve put on hold was performing in the symphony as a violinist. When I was in middle school my mom purchased me a violin because I wanted to join the “strings assemble” at school. I enjoyed learning to play the violin and travel to different places to play. I knew then that being a violinist along with travelling was something I wanted to make a career at. Well due to assisting my mom who is ill and deciding to stay home to help her(which I don’t regret) and also suffering a stroke myself put a dent in my dreams of playing the violin professionally. I thank GOD that I am completely healed and although my mom still has health problems(cancer in remission) she is doing somewhat better. I completed my Bachelors’ degree and currently work at an agency for the past 9 yrs. I would love to have the opportunity to play the violin again! I am very outgoing, love to travel, socialize and goal driven. Thanks for your time and consideration.

  26. Katrina Carroll

Hello there, my name is Katrina. As a child all I could think about was horses. I turned the couch arm, my bike, a broom or whatever I could get my hands on into an imaginary horse. I had an imaginary stable in the shed in my yard that housed hundreds of my “horses”. I created elaborate profiles for them and thought of a million names. I was lucky enough to get my own first horse when I was 15 and even luckier to have parents that had the means to get me excellent training and bring me to shows. I loved the exhilaration of 3 day eventing from the first moment I heard what it was. I planned that someday I would ride with the Olympic team and be a world class rider and trainer. I placed well at Training level even as a kid but then reality set in. I was to go to college to get a real job, I had to sell my horse and even stop riding for a few years due to financial strain on our family. In the end, I put myself into a world of debt going back to school for equestrian and ended up not being able to pay to finish. I worked to support me and my horse who was to be my show prospect (who I saved endlessly to afford) at endless farms grooming, shoveling poop, and scrubbing buckets only to find out that she would never be show worthy due to a chronic problem in her hind end. Ive been trying to break into the upper echelon of this industry for over 10 years now and nobody will seem to give me a chance or enough money to even live on and so I go back and forth between waitressing, catering, and farm work to make ends meet. I am at the end of my rope and have every intention of writing this part of my life off completely, yet i still can’t seem to let go. I know that I have a god given gift when handling horses and it is my one true calling. I would love for your show to give me the opportunity to leave my mark on the industry I love that seems to have no faith in my ability. Please help!!
Thank you for creating this show!! Regards, Katrina.

  27. Nikelle Willis

Hello, Kurt and company, my name is Nikelle Willis and I am putting this submission in for my boyfriend. HIs name is Nathaniel Armstead he graduated from T.C. Williams HS with a 4.0. He was a great student was accepted into the Honor Society and received grant money from the school as he gratuated with Honors. He did all that while playing football as well as running track. He was an amazing person, though since that time he hasn’t been so. After graduating from T.C. he was accepted into about 5 colleges with D-1 status through football, he chose to play and go to school in South Carolina at Coastal Carolina. Though, a simple game changed his life forever. He was in the T.C. Williams gym playing football inside with friends. One of the friends was throwing the football and him and another friend were catching it. Long story short, he raced his friend to catch the football first but did not realize it was going to far and heading into the hard wall, he raced to get it and boom. I get a call I had to go to Fairfax Hospital in Virginia because he needed surgery, that same day he had to receive a bar to hold his bones in place and 30-50 stitches in his hand up reaching a little bit of his forearm. He had a D-1 scholarship what would he tell the coaches at his new school. Unfortunately they seen the damage because it was so fresh, he decided to also tell them what happened. The coaches had decided to give him a red shirt to stay out until it heals and he strengths it, but by that time he was too depressed his friends that he met there didn’t help any they encouraged him to drink and go to college parties instead of going to class and working out his hand. His mother, the rest of his family and I were off in Virginia being lied to because he felt ashamed of the truth. Later, we found out because his teachers were failing him, he missed practice after practice. The cost of school got higher because of his depression of losing it all in a day was taking over way more than I thought it would, we all asked him to go to a school closer to home. Nate then went to NSU, where he continued to hang out with the wrong crowd his grades suffered and finally he just came back to the small town Alexandria in Virginia and decided to go to NOVA CC, where I currently go to school. It seemed nothing had changed because his desire to play football was lost in that one day which made everything else fall he lost his desire for school and a lot of other things. Finally, after the birth of our child his hand was fully strengthened and he feels he has purpose again but ever since that day he has not been the same. He really loves and desires football, he is super atheletic, he already has our 7 month old working on his little abs by pulling himself up from a laying down position into a sitting position by grabbing on our fingers, he can’t wait to show him all the football plays and moves. I would love if he had the moment to meet you and some NFL players and drill with them or even talk with them. That would mean the world to him and I think it would change his attitude about his life as well, this would really be a life-changer for him for sure.

  29. delia alcaraz

My name is Delia Alcaraz. I’m 14 years old. I have brown hair and brown eyes. I am about 5’2. Being able to be in this cast would be amazing. Acting for me would be a dream. Being able to be part of the acting business would be amazing. I think that I have what it take to be in the acting business because for me acting wouldn’t just be about the fame, but for being able to perform and have people connect to my acting. To be able to relate to how the characters feel. Being able to inspire people to move forward and accomplish their dreams like i did mine.

  30. Brianh Harshman

I have been looking for the big break all my life… and I hope this is the one. I am 33 years old, but often feel older due to the weight I feel on my heart due to the burden I have for people. At the age of 9 my life changed dramatically. Due to financial ruin (due to a con artist) my family had to move from our nice neighborhood in Las Vegas to a new home in Idaho. It was there I was bullied for about a year and a half at the school I was attending. We then moved again to another town where our living situation got worse. While the situation at school would become better, home was not easy. I luckily had an outlet of sports, it was what kept me sane for those years. My senior year I was presented with an opportunity to go on a missions trip to Mexico and it was there I saw what poor truly was. Many things happened on that trip and it was there my life truly changed. Due to my own experiences and from what I saw in Mexico, I decided I would commit my life to helping those who had little to no hope. For the next 12 years I would follow my passion of helping others and it came in the avenue of working with at youth. My dream would be molded in those years as I learned that I wanted to become motivational speaker and eventually start my own business that would allow those who needed hope in their lives a place to go for that to happen. While it was easy to find a job serving others, I found it was difficult to start my dream. It seemed every time I began to get traction, my life would dramatically change directions due to often obstacles I had little to no control over. My pursuit of my dream all came to a head about 8 months ago. I was living in Indiana with my wife and two kids, when I told my wife I had to do something drastic to step out in faith and see what would happen. We had briefly lived in Florida and had friends in that offered me a position working for them. My wife and I decided that I should take it and see what happens. However, my wife and kids would have to stay in Indiana due to my wife being a college volleyball coach. We couldn’t have her leave with almost no notice to the team before the season. After I arrived in Florida it did not take long before I knew the new job was not for me. My wife and I decided that I would remain in Florida to see if there were new opportunities for me to full fill my passions and dreams. After a month I quickly began to find opportunities opening up, but due to the hardship of distance, I would have to return to my family in Indiana. I am now content with not chasing my dreams anymore, but my heart still cries out to serve others in the area of my dream. While my life has often been a struggle, the gifts I received from my experiences may one day open the door for me. Throughout the time of me chasing my dream, I got my degree in counseling, became a personal trainer, was employed as a college strength and conditioning coach, became a Martial Arts instructor, a Defensive Tactics instructor for security and law enforcement, a wilderness survival instructor, a juvenile corrections officer, high school basketball coach, a youth minister and activities coordinator. Without me realizing it, my journey allowed me to have the tools to become great at what I dream to be. It is now that I hope my dream can come to fruition. With all my experiences I dream of sharing my testimony to inspire others while creating a facility that helps changes lives. A place that serves people with little to know cost and is based on donations and gifts from others. I desire to serve by providing counseling like services that are experienced based. Wilderness survival that promotes self reliance, Personal Training that inspires change, Self Defense that increases confidence, Athletic Performance Training that allows a person to be their best and relationships that brings hope. I now have a window, but I know I need help in fulfilling my dream. I need that big break, that thing that opens the door to allow my dream to come true.

I’ve read that your accepting casting requests for Kurt warners Hosted show called the Moment. I would like to be looked aat as a candidate for the next filming of this awesome opportunity. I have always dreamed of becoming a NASCAR driver. I’ve grown up on the racetrack with my dad since I was 5 years old. I was digging dirt out of my ears ever Friday Saturday and Sunday night. My father used to build racecars by day and I watched them race at night. I’ve raced BMX as well as go-carts in the past. I was going to start racing for my dad, but he decided to pull out of the racing industry as he kept being called a cheat as his team kept beating the competition. At the young age of 17 I joined the United states Army National Guard and therfore couldn’t put myself in harmsway to jepordize that career choice. In the meantime I started working for a Company called NASCAR Silicon Motor Speedway, which was a Entertainment store that housed 8, 3/4 scale Full Motion NASCAR simulators. I accumulated well over 100,000 miles between Atlant Motor Speedway, charlotte Motor Speedway, Daytona International Speedway. Richmond International Speedway, Bristol Motor Speedway and Indionapolis Motor Speedway. I did this until 2004 when I chased my dream of racing to Charlotte, NC in hopes to participate in a Reality TV show called Ultimate Reality Racer, and this never got off the ground after phase 1 of 4 which I did qualify for. I still have the certificate in my possesion. I then started working for Richard Petty Drving experience part-time while I worked at my current job still today at Radioshack as a store manager. I would love but nothing more then to have a 100% chance at actually proving to my dad as well as the world that I can race a stockcar and more importatnly compete at the NASCAR level, even if I start at the ripe age of 35, soon to be 36. I know I have the talent, i’ve always had great car control with anything that I got behind the wheel of. So I ask that you will give me the chacne of a life time and be one of the next contestants on The Moment.

For as long as I can recollect, I have always wanted to act/entertain. When I
was younger, I would watch T.V. and wonder why I wasn’t on
one of the shows. My desire to act was strong, only my parents made it clear
to me they didn’t want me to get engrossed in the entertainment industry
until I was older. Each year I reminded my parents that I was getting older
in hope that they would get me an agent, but they insisted that I wait until I
turned eighteen. Since my parents wouldn’t let me set foot into the crazy
world of the entertainment industry, I performed in various school plays and
attended performing arts high school. I loved performing in my school plays, making people laugh and feel entertained. However like most Americans I went to college, started living and began to grow out of the peter pan phase. I soon began thinking it was just a dream. Now at 34 years old, with one son, I realize life just isn’t as fulfilling without that thing that makes me light up…that brings me excitement…entertainment. I always knew my life would feel empty if I wasn’t able to express myself through arts and entertainment. For the most part, the experience I have had with acting has only been through drama classes at school, acting lessons, private shows I would host, exc. However any opportunity to do what you love every day would be great. I typically don’t have allot of luck when it comes to pursuing my dream….but what the hell do I have to lose. I would love to have a second chance at life and living.

I hope the show is a great success….and I look forward to hearing from you all soon.

I’m sure you’ll receive thousands of these a day.. I have done musical theater since I was 13 and absolutely fell in love with it. I prefer acting but I also excel in singing and dancing. I’ve played piano since I was 7 and was a competitive gymnast for 10 years. I’m a behavioral analysis major at USF and absolutely LOVE interacting with people- any age, race, religion, etc. I realized I could not leave performing out of my life; it is too much of who I am. I have other experience in agencies (acting and voice), independent auditions, modeling etc. I can’t stop trying to pursue this dream and I refuse to. An audition itself would be remarkable and you will not regret it. This IS my passion. This IS my dream. This is not something I’m going to stop striving for. I want to show the world what I can do and am so passionate about. When I want something I go after it and give it more than I even knew I could. Getting off the theater stage and into film of any sort is my greatest goal, dream, and aspiration. I appreciate this opportunity and would do anything and everything to be a part of it. Thank you!

I have been working in Public Accounting for 3 years now. I have obtained my MBA and I am moving up the corporate ladder but it is no longer enough. I don’t want to live a life were I am merely existing. I have decided to take a leap of faith and truly go after my dreams. I have a skill to learn things quickly and adapt to any situation. If given the opportunity I can almost guarantee one would not regret taking a chance on me. I am dependable, accommodating and flexible. “The Moment is looking to cast people who have had a dream to do something big in their lives or have at one time pursued a dream job or experience only to have to abandon it.” This show would be perfect for me because if I could have gone by in time about 7 years ago, I would have majored in performing arts and spent all my time with perfecting that skill. Instead, like most kids, i listen to my mom tell me that becoming an actress or even striving to be one was a total waste of time. Now I am ready to live my life for me. Please allow me to re-do my “moment”.

Wow How do I start is my gift ! I’ve been obsessed with fashion design from I was about six years old. My first memories are of transforming my socks into dresses for my dolls i got my first sewing machine at eight ( of which I have the pic) and then on to y grandmother’s pillowcases i went.

My training came from high school and working in the textile and retail boutiques.
My dream was to attend fashion college, launch my line and have my clothing draped across the pages of Vogue then at sixteen my father died and my dreams slipped away; the real world said hello and I just sewed part time, I now know my passion was suppressed but never truly died . In 2004 I left employment for self employment as a Designer ( sans advance skills) then came love, kids & again employment.

I just need to prove to myself that I was given this gift to be great

  38. Susan Concepcion

I have always been a performer. I let go of my dream, for what I believe is the fear of rejection. After thinking about it, I can not pin-point exactly when I gave up. It’s difficult to admit. I have been performing some stand up in front of my 8th grade students. No fair, I know, they have to laugh. So I must pause to ask you to fulfill a life-long dream of becoming an actor. How cruel that I was pulled to teach at a performing arts middle school and I don’t even teach ACTING. Poetic Justice? Why of course.

  39. Mellonease Naylor

    Hello Mr. Warner,
First let me say “doggone it, you beat me to it!” The Moment is an idea that I tried to submit to another tv station, only to be told that it had to be done through a production company. I ask you, what does the average Joe/Josephine know about production companies? But anyway, I’m glad you did and that you’re providing this platform.
My name is Mellonease Naylor and I am a self-published author, and am I writer/director/producer of stage plays. I have served as head of my church’s drama ministry as well as having independently written/produced/directed several stageplays over the last 20 years. Though I only have local exposure, people are ALWAYS asking me, “When is your next book/play coming out?” As an African American woman I am always encouraged to solicit the help and recognition of Tyler Perry, but guess how hard that is—I dare you! lol. Which is why The Moment is the perfect vehicle for me.
I am 63 years YOUNG and I refuse to give up on my dream to produce a commercially successful stage play. Yes, I want my work to be appreciated, but when your success opens a door for others to come through, a portal into a world that could never be realized otherwise, then is when your life takes on real purpose.
I live in Chester, PA, a small city just south of Philadelphia. Our school system was in receivership, and sadly has one of the worst crime rates in the country. Though we proudly boast being the hometown of NBA players Jameer Nelson and Tyreke Evans, my hope is to bring a cultural component to our city.
My youngest son, Kasai, was affiliated with The Young Americans, an organization founded by Walt Disney. His involvement provided him with the rare opportunity to travel around the U.S., to Paris, Germany and Europe to encourage maintaining cultural arts in public schools. He is now in college pursuing a degree in film direction. But I made a sacrifice as a mother, to send him to California to live so that this could be possible.
Mr. Warner, your personal story is inspirational, but your willingness to make it possible for others is a quality not many possess. And so, I would cherish the opportunity to give birth to my dreams to produce while serving as an incubator to keep alive the dreams of those who come after me.
I thank you for your time and your consideration and pray that I hear from you. God bless you.

  40. Dorie Clarke

Hello, My name is Dorie and I am a 42 year old mother of seven ages ranging from 11-24. I am married but have been separated for the past 3 years. I don’t know where to begin. I have sacrificed much for my family since the age of 18 with no regrets. However I guess I lost sight of my own dreams and aspirations until the most recent years. I believe I’ve always been a creative person and believe it comes out in many ways either through my fashion or decorating. I have a deep seated passion for interior decorating. I have often found myself gathering objects from within dept stores setting up displays for potential purchasers; not by request by the store but my internal need to decorate something. I gathered up the nerve to signup for school to pursue this dream in 2011. I thoroughly enjoyed going and learning at the school. However due to 12 hour work days, school schedule, children/church responsibilities, funds and recurring upset in my marital situation I became discouraged, depressed and overwhelmed that I end up leaving school. I wanted it so badly that I went to work at 6:00 am left for class by 8:00 am. I would leave class by 12:00 return to work and be back to class by 6:00 where class ended at 10:00 to then go home and tend to my family. This happened for the entire week and school on Saturdays for months. I’m disappointed that I didn’t finish what I started and wish to have an opportunity to do what I love to do most. It would be an honor to have such a great blessing given to me with your help to achieve what I dreamed of doing. I kind of feel selfish in asking for this help when I originally wanted to request a dream gift to one of my children but at this time in my life I want to be able to say I accomplished my dreams and made a success of myself. Thank you so much for this potential opportunity.

  41. Zulema Oyola

Hello I’m Zulema Oyola, I’m 15 years old. I know I may be to young to be on this show but its worth trying. Well I always wanted to Act, so one day me and my mother were in the car and we were listening to the radio and a commercial came on saying the they were giving auditions for anyone who wanted to act or model. So I went to the audition and the audition was a contest to see if we were good enough to be on Disney channel. Well after the audition like 3 days later the called but my step father didn’t pick up the phone, so they left a message saying that they picked me to be in the contest because they thought I was good, so we Tried to call back but it was to late:(. Ever since that day I stop searching for auditions for a long time until today I saw a commercial that made me think that I should never give up, so I’m going to keep trying again.
Thanks for reading hope you pick me….
Love, Zulema Oyola (P.S I know my name is cool

  42. Jessie Smith

My dream, passion, heart, soul, and ultimate desire would be the opportunity to the next but very unique Suzy Kolber. I’d probably cry like a baby my first shot….. Lol. I have loved sports my entire life. Played Volleyball and Basketball growing up. I’ve coached many years of Little League sports with my kids.i am the LOUDEST and most PASSIONATE woman watching sports. Everything about Sports is intense. From the crack of a bat to the squeaking of tennis shoes to the grunt of a Tennis player…. I hang on EVERY moment of it. I know if I had ONE chance I would succeed. I’ve known since I was a small child that Sports would always be a passion for me. After I was adopted at the age of four, I remember my parents taking my brother to see The Harlem Globetrotters…. Without me!!! I cried and cried and cried. I was devastated!!! So when my son was six and my daughter just a baby, I went to see The Globetrotters for the first time with them. I sobbed. I was so happy and overwhelmed. When there was 2.1 seconds left in the most amazing Duke game…. And Laettner got the pass from Hill…. And turned… Went up…. And MADE the SHOT to win over Kentucky, I screamed and jumped up and down in joy!!! Nearly passed out lol. And on February 14th I was at the Orlando Magic game. Michael Jordan’s jersey was stolen and he had to wear number 12. The Magic beat the Bulls in double overtime!!!! I had no voice for six days!!!! How about Ed McCaffrey (Mr. Sticky fingers to me since he could grab a pass from anywhere!) Monday Night Football… Pass to the chest, perfect catch, leg gets broken…. Compound fracture…. Never dropped the ball.
These are the moments I live for. Please…. Just one chance to make my dream a reality. To show my kids that the years of torture they endured from my very loud excitement was worth it!!! One shot to be a Sideline Reporter…. One chance. Let me take that shot with only 2.1 seconds left to beat the buzzer.

    Thank you

Extremely talented, versatile, can play any role.

  44. Roger Gauvreau

Hello, my name is Roger Gauvreau and it has been my pleasure to entertain people for the better part of my life. I am a 43 year old single father of a wonderful 13 year old daughter, and currently work as a disc jockey at a local night club.

My roots run deep in the entertainment industry as I had grandparents who were in the film business and had great success. It was my grandfather who prompted me to take drama in middle school with the idea that becoming comfortable speaking in public would be a great skill to hone. He was certainly right, and I excelled on stage all the way through high school. I had dreams of becoming an entertainer as an adult, but alas, life got in the way and I never truly pursued my passion.

Sports and music are both important aspects of my life and I’ve always fancied myself as a radio host. Both rock n’ roll disc jockey and sports talk show host have been the most intriguing parts of the industry for me as I have a passion for both, and I can’t imagine a better life than being able to play music or talk sports all while entertaining and hopefully amusing people along the way. Toss in my sense of humor and impeccable timing, and I can’t imagine a better fit for me. The best part is not only am I interested in the industry, I’m also a fan. I truly love both sports and music and I feel that with my strong personality, knowledge of both industries, and commitment to succeed that if given the right opportunity I would truly excel.

Thank you for your consideration and I hope to become The Moment’s biggest success story!

  47. Tony Tate

Dear Kurt Warner and the casting members of ‘The Moment” on The USA Network

First of all, Mr. Warner, I truly hope you are able to read this email personally. I believe that my story really relates to you in a very unique and intriging way. Im not sure you keep in contact with any of your former teammates, but if you do I went to high school with one from your Superbowl Champion St. Louis Rams. Im sure he will vouch for my character among other things.
Kurt, my name is Tony Tate. I current reside in a very small town called Haskell, Texas. Its about one hour due north of Abilene and approx. 3 1/2hrs west or the Dallas/Ft Worth area. I hope I dont wasted too much of your time, but I wanted to send a reply that I hope will jump right off the page and consider in the least a personal response from you and perhaps a strong canidacy for you show.
I have done so many things and have had numerous job throughout my life. Ive been everything from a shelf stocker, to a project leader in construction, to a bouncer in many nightclubs, to a Certified Nurses Aide; which is what I currently do now. I love my job and have loved my life and have had no regrets. However, the one thing that I had the opportunity to experience was being a baseball umpire. I umpired high school and college baseball for two years right after college. Needless to say, I was a natural and not only loved calling games, but I was good. Of course, any umpire will tell you: if you wanna get rich umpiring is the wrong business. Even though money is by far not the most important thing to me. At the time, it also wasnt able to put food on the table or pay the bills. Although, I had a full time job at the time. It was just something that did not coincide with having a new family to provide for. I still have so much love for the game and still feel that I possess the skills and knowledge of the rules and regulation of the game.
My dream, Kurt, is to not only get a reply from you. It is to have the opportunity to be sent to the professional umpiring school in Florida to be trained by the best and umpire the best and to become a Major League Baseball umpire. In my dream, the show would send me to the school, monitor my progresss and like a fairy tale; the show ending with me on a MLB field umpiring my first game. I myself , dont think this is too farfetched. Like I said it is a unique request. I mean whose dream is to actually want to become something like this. Trust me. I know there would be hard work and very hard decision making. But, when I saw your show and what it was about, I thought to myself, “hey that could be me and that is something right up my alley.”
Anyway, Kurt, I really hope this email reaches you and you atleast send me a reply. Ive never done anything like this before. So, Im kind of in uncharted waters. By the way the player I went to high school with is Ryan Tucker. We were actually friends in middle school up until high school when he moved to Midland.
I thank anyone who reads this strange and unique request and I hope to hear from anyone very soon and good luck with the show!!!

    Truly Yours,
    Tony Tate

  48. Camille Gregg

Hi my name is Camille Gregg. Before I got pregnant I was performing my own songs and doing shows and becoming more confident in my stage fright, but that all changed after birth. No, I dont regret my baby I just wish I can get back to doing what I love and hopefully get noticed by the right person and start a career.

  49. Gerald Mitchell

Hello, I am a 43 year old make from New Orleans, La.. Upon hearing about this show, I immediateky felt a connection to it. I grew up a star athlete, playing sports all throughout my childhood, excelling in all major sports, attending great private and catholic schools raided in a famiky in which my father is very spiritual. FOR me church and religion was very strange never paying attention much, wether it be at school or our home church. One day in the hallway of our highscool, my head coach overheard me say a few curse words with my friends and told me,”until I got myself right with God, I would never get where I was put here to be” After a great H.S. career and on to college, I ran in to much trouble, even having a child born, a loss of dcholarship due to vsd decisions, now with child, I turned to selling drugs,it bevame a 10 year stretch of light slaps on the wrist living a drug dealing life, although always living a double life of taking online classes, coaching, personal trsining, etc.. until one day, im busted and now facing 10 yesrs in jail! I served four years, mrt a person who reintrduced me to God while seeing the potential in me, inside working in the law library, a GED instructor and eigt Theology. Certificates, along with taking business classes from LSU. I have been home fir two yesrs now and own an athletic recruiting service, and have an online magazine and shooting a pilot for a recruiting show.It has bern said that I am a natural as a dports analyst, I know yhst God is now opening doors for me and this dhow is about second chances!

  50. Wanda Maness

I would love to be cast in The Moment~I am from a small town in North Carolina. All my life I have had bits and pieces of acting. I was married and had a family as a teen. My dream of acting stopped dead in its tracks. I got into radio for five years doing the news and commercials. I needed to help my family out so I went back to college to be a teacher. In the meantime I was an extra for The Color Purple, Evil Dead 2, Born To Race, Documentaries-False Witness and Medgar Evers a principal role. Locally I did an outdoor drama and our local theatre group. Years have passed and I still daydream about going to audition for big movies. I am serious and silly~partly sophiscated and hillbilly. I want to be the next TYLER PERRY playing different characters. Thank you for your consideration~ Wanda

  51. Trey Dunia

My goal is to become a PA Announcer for an NFL, MLB or college football team. When I was young I always wanted to be behind the mic but the choices I made as a teenager did not allow me to pursue my dreams. Once a became sober, over 20 years ago, I did get training at a radio broadcasting school but I also got married, had kids, and found that the starting salary was not enough to raise a family. When my kids became old enough to play sports I asked if I could announce a few games, and the fans like it. The following season I scheduled special events featuring all the fanfare associated with an all-star baseball game and it was a big hit. I was then given an opportunity to announce football games for our local youth team…where I shined once again. The following year I continued to announce Friday Night baseball games where the whole community got involved…making signs for the players, all the kids choosing walk-up music for their at-bats…and when the football season came the teams we played against even asked me to announce their special events. I was also given an opportunity to announce the high school games. It makes me wonder what I could have accomplished earlier in my life if I wasn’t drinking and doing drugs for so many years. I could be a benefit to your show…and you could do me a service by getting my skillset and goals to a wider audience. Get in touch with me…neither of us will be sorry.

Hi my name is Ali and I would love my for my husband Grant to get he’s second chance at his life time dream. He’s such a hard worker and has helped me with so much. I just want him to get his chance.

  54. Stephanie

I am writing for my fiance’ Isaac. He is 38 yrs old and put his dreams of being a Professional DJ on hold back in his early 20’s when he had his oldest son. He has been Dj’ing since he was 12 years old and to say that this is his passion is an understatement. Since we have been together (4yrs) we have slowly gathered back equipment and he works feverishly on blending and producing music as well as dj’ing clubs, parties, events, etc., along with his regular job. He has submitted music various outlets and had the opportunity to work with some musical artists that have become fairly well known along the way. I would love to see him have the opportunity to get the shot to try again. He works so hard for his whole family and we would love to see him fulfill his dreams in any capacity! Thank you!

  55. Michael Anthony Bosby

My stage name is Sssilk. Why because when I sing, it’s silky smooth. I would love to be on the show and have a chance to show the world my god given talent of performing. I would love to sing in front of a packed house with a live band. I would have you asking, why doesn’t he have a recording contract. I know I could pull it off. But as we all know you have to be in the right place at the right time, it has nothing to do with not having a passion for your art. I And I was just never in the right place at the right time. I have always wanted to be a recording artist. I have be singing since I was 10 years old. I write, arrange and produce my own songs. People say I sound like Smokey Robinson. Think about it not everyone has Smokey’s silky smooth voice. And pull of singing The Tracks of My Tears. If given the chance I know I can pull this off. I know it.

Since being a young girl I have had an “interesting” voice. Not a singing but speaking voice. In classrooms I’d never wanted to ask questions or read aloud. As I got older the most common questions I’d get regarding my voice was “have you ever done voice over?” or “have you ever done radio?” No one knows this but I have always envisioned myself in front of people speaking and I see them light up as I deliver my message. Trust me I have gone deep into my imagination over the years with daydreaming about this. In the late 80s I would watched Les Brown. Some speakers would come to Texas I’d sit in the audience and watch. In 1996, while on maternity leave I researched many ways in how to use my voice as a speaker. Nothing was in my reach. I went to voice over classes and was surprised how well I did. I had a demo made. It would be awesome to be able to get one more chance in going all the way this time. I want to hit a home run this time with nothing in my way. Just me and my gift. The obstacles have been obligations in raising my kids, finance and the biggest FEAR. I have brushed this gift under the rug for far too long. Courage has come a-calling!

I am a very fast learner, and if I am considered for this role I would love to audition. I also believe I can impress alot of people with my acting skills! Thanks for the time.

  62. susan cingari

It is no coincidence that I am writing in on the night of the Boston Marathon Bombing as life is just too short to not “go for it”

I swore I would never apply for any reality shows.. because (gasp) I work as a freelance producer behind the scenes but my passion for a career change is just too strong.

I have done just about everything in TV my client list reads like a who;’s who, bored and over red carpets, hurricanes, murders, celebrity temper tantrums, court cases, Superbowl’s and Spring Training, I was set to retire but then I discovered MIXED MARTIAL ARTS. and is has re ignited me.

I own 30 websites geared to the sport and am working on a book. I live eat and breathe the sport.. Weekend MMA! , I dumped my boyfriend since I watch MMA every weekend and he was not into it.. MY DVR is packed with MMA shows I watch so to understand the sport. Books I must have a library that looks like I’m in grad school. Obsessed? Possessed Fanatical maybe.? Passionate DEFINETELY!

I want to go back on camera reporting for this sport. and one way or another I will do it. The on camera reporters look like ring girls so it is a bit intimidating and while I am by no means a beast on camera, I am not 25. I am currently freelancing but I want to soar to the top.

What would I do for a gig with a sports network? Probably anything except sleeping with the boss.

  63. Amber Segebart

  67. Scot Tiliinghast

My name is Scot Tillinghast and I have been married for 27 years. I have four children 19 to 25. I have always had a dream and passion to be in a movie, but when we started our family it was about taking care of my family and providing for them so I got into Construction and have been doing it ever since. When I tackle something in life I go all out I want to be the best at what I do. This is what I did in Construction I became one of the best Builders in my area earning a reputation for doing great work. Through all those years there was passion inside that deep down that said I would act one day. Its one of things were you see someone else doing it and you say to yourself I know without a shadow of a doubt I can do that. Well I will be fifty July 7, 2013 and this would be an amazing dream come true for me. Im sure there are others out there that probably deserve this more than I do, I have been truly blessed in life, if I died today I can say that I am rich in family and friends. In 2001 my family and I gave everything up and went to work at a home for troubled teens in NY. We walked away from a business that was doing 1 million dollars a year to go and work at a home for troubled teens that paid us 650. dollars every other week. It wasn’t about the money for us and everyone thought we were crazy. We left in 2006 and have never had any regrets we were a part of changing young peoples lives that were at a cross roads in there lives. We continue to stay in touch with some of these young people and see the amazing lives they have. I guess I am asking for this chance for selfish reasons, but sometimes you have to do it for yourself.

    Thankyou,

    Scot Tillinghast

I want to nominate my husband for the show. He is a 50-year-old recovering drug addict with 14 years clean. He has always dreamed of being a musician/singer and he is very talented. He has dabbled in contests in our area, but he has missed his shot on a couple of different occasions over the years first because of his addiction and later because of our family. We have spent the last 10 years battling his medical problems and now mine. He is not able to have a conventional job and is a man’s man who has always worked. He can no longer do that to support our family and that really has gotten him down. We now have a 3-year-old son and we want to be good role models for him. My husband wants to teach our son to be a good man and a provider for his family, but he needs another shot at his dream in order to be able to do that. Please consider him for your show. I know he can do make his dreams come true!

  71. L'Rea S Robinson

I started out in school wanting to become a great actress. I let people discourage me. Along the way I discovered I could sing and I really love entertaining people. I had an oppertuninty at 15 to move to New York and go the the School for performing arts. My mothers best friend has a sister named Delores Hall who played in the Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. My mother was afraid to let me go and turned her down. I really wanted that. As I approach my 50th birthday I would love to one day put on a one women show with music and acting the two things I always wanted to do. I have gotten alot older and I lost my mother on 01/03/13 but I want to show others that its okay to put yourself out there even if your are older and not supermodel size.

I would love to be part of The Moment, and have a chance to become a Disney Imagineer. When I was younger I began going to school, but decided to take a break and have a family. Years later I decided to go back to school, and then found myself in the middle of a divorce and messy custody battle. I needed to win custody of my children so that I could move to Los Angeles and actually apply the degree that I earned, and that cost me over $100,000.00 to achieve. Don’t get me wrong, I love what I do. I have a degree in Media Arts and Animation, and work as a puppet fabricator in stop motion animation. Since moving to Los Angeles, I have been lucky to have steady work at the studio where I interned. It was such a difficult road to get where I am now. I interned for 6 months first year, and another 6 months the second year. I commuted from San Diego to LA every week and slept on the floor of my friend’s apartment. I worked two or three jobs at a time to support my kids because my ex husband never helped me with child support. Just when I was ready to move, and was going to be offered a paid position, I had to go through a custody trial, so I had to wait another year before I could actually work. Luckily things turned out well for me and my children, but it hasn’t been easy. It took me a while to figure out what I wanted in life. Family life, and being responsible for two other people sometimes makes it difficult to pursue the things I need to do, to move forward in my career. I have taken a lot of time away from them while attending school, and I could never go back and get a second degree, or further my education while they’re still young. Not to mention the fact that I have to pay off my tuition as well as save for theirs. I have a great desire for becoming a Disney Imagineer. My family loves Disney, and I have a great respect for Walt and his ideaology. This would truly be a life changing opportunity for us. Thank you for your consideration.

    Sincerely,

    Jennifer Hogan

  73. DIA DINGUS

I just watched an episode of this show, and felt urged to tell my story.
My name is Dia Dingus. I am 36 years young, and currently a stay at home mom. Due to my husbands career, I have had to give up my dreams and focus on our family. We have had to move around several times from Mississippi, Columbia,Missouri , Lexington,Ky, and now Louisville KY. We are not planning on moving again!
I went back to school in Missouri to a surgical technology program in hopes to become familiar with the operating room and getting a job as a medical instrument rep. My dream of working in a fast paced environment came true when we moved to Kentucky. I got a job working as a laparoscopic tech for a hospital in town. I loved finally having my own career and helping take some of the financial burden off of my husband. However, just moving into a new house and new town with 2 school aged kids was an adjustment in itself. My husbands jobs requires him to travel a lot ,and me starting a career so soon was not the right timing for our family. I didn’t have all my “ducks in a row” with extra help with children as I do now. Moving around and not knowing anybody or resources , ended up to be e biggest downfall.
We have been here 3 years now, and I so need and dream of a career again ….Your help would be just what I need to get my foot in the door!
Thanks for your time and consideration…….Dia

Would love to be on ;”The Kurt Warmer Show.My dreams were put on hold in order to support my children’s dream. Now they are grown and it’s my turn, please help me!!!!!!

  75. Paula Lonardo

Hi, When I saw Kurt Warner this morning promoting his show :The Moment” I just knew I had to be part of it. I just turned 53 years old and I have been waiting for an opportunity like this for many years. When I was younger I tried to fulfill as many dreams and goals as I possibly could. My career meant everything to me. I put career first, even before family because I knew how important it was then to do something that you have “passion” for. So I went for it, I joined the Navy in 1982 and became one of the Navy’s first female Deep Sea Divers. It was exhilarating to say the least. I was high on life and enjoying it to the fullest because I loved my job so much. When my four years were up, I wanted to finish college, so things really changed for me and naturally took me down a different road. Not only did I have to adjust to civilian life but everything seemed so boring and mundane. School wasn’t doing it for me, I wasn’t happy camper, but I felt like it was important to have a degree. So I finished and got a BA degree in Speech Communications. Unfortunately, in the end, no one really seemed to care, you needed to be a Doctor or Lawyer to get a job back in the early 90’s. I couldn’t find a decent career job anywhere and living in Maine wasn’t really helping me, it made it all the more harder. You either became a lumberjack or you had to wait for someone to die to get in with a good company. Finally, I was so sick of sending out resumes and not getting anywhere I decide to buy a professional Karaoke system. I went out and got my own gigs and no one even knew what the hell I was even talking about, they couldn’t even pronouce it. So there I was on the cutting edge of all this new alternative entertainment and “I was back” and life was exciting again!” In the beginning phases of Karaoke it was a huge challenge because I really wasn’t a great singer but I had to sing at least from 9:00- 11:00pm, until people got up the nerve or were drunk enough. Other than that they just steered at the books with their mouths open. I began singing a lot of country stuff and sang and sang and sang. Then it gradually took off after several months. For 6 years I spun my tunes and then I finally met someone and I actually got serious about marriage. Unfortunately, when push came to shove, he wasn’t as committed as I was and moved back to California and left me totally crushed. I gave up my job for him because he wanted me to travel with him and everything seemed like it was going to be a fairy tale ending. After a world wind year he went back to California and it was “over”. I didn’t want to go back doing Karaoke anymore because I felt like I was completely over it. I was so depressed and bummed out to think that I had to start looking for a real job again in Maine, it just blew my mind. At that point, I moved back to R.I. where my family lives because I thought there would be a lot more opportunities for an X- Navy Diver with a college degree and I’d also have the support from my family. So I moved back to my hometown R.I.
One day sitting down eating chicken at an ‘all you can eat chicken farm restaurant’ I saw an old friend working there. She said she could get me a job there until I found a “Real” job. I said Cool! That was in 2000. I’ve been slinging chicken ever since. With the economy turning for the worse and the cash flow there always good and reliable and only working the weekends I thought I’d have the time to persue bigger things during the week, that it would just be temporary. Well, I feel like I’ve been to hell and back when I reflect on it all. Needless to say, it’s been a humbling experience. I’ve really had to swallow my pride and I still haven’t met my knight in shining armor. Things just didn’t turn out how I expected them to turn for me………… But when i saw Kurt promoting “The Moment” I thought this show is perfect for someone like me! It just might be the thing I need to help me get my mojo back! Well, here it is, what I really want to do if I had a “second chance” to do it all over again? I always wanted to be a stand up comedian. I know I have what it takes, but I just don’t know how to break into the biz. Kurt’s show could really put me in the spotlight again. I would love to know if you think I’m a good candidate. I appreciate you taking the time to read my profile and I do look forward to hearing from you and hope that you consider me for the next show to come. Good luck with the show and hope to hear from you soon. Take Care Paula
