I’ve done one half marathon and am currently training for my first marathon. being outdoors is my absolute favorite. The one’s who’ve been on so far have all been very young with very true experience in dealing with nature, mind you a couple of them are the exceptions. Broken up fights between gang members in prison. Before transferring to the Sheriff’s Department, I was a member of the Prison S.O.R.T. team, who goes into the cells of inmates who are considered the most dangerous and causing the most problems to subdue and disarm them. I want to capture every team and send them home. Hell, I’m use to keeping criminals in their cells everyday, this will be no different.My motivation for winning this game is my wife and two sons. While I am typically labeled as the big teddy bear, due to my love for humanity, innate goodness, and gentle nature, I assure you I am not someone to be messed with. From an early age, I learned how to hunt, I developed a love and understanding for nature and life, I spent a great deal of time trekking through the many woodlands in my county, most of which neither of us had prior knowledge of, and trying to find a way out of these areas, all from my grandpa. He also taught me how to shoot various guns, about camouflage, tricks of the trade, how to fish, and patience. Later in life, I took a two-year course to prepare myself for a career in Natural Resources Management. Through this class, I learned how to test water quality, use various tools for dendrology and marine biology, and identify many species of plants and animals, all while furthering the knowledge instilled by my grandfather.For as long as I can remember, strategy games and RPGs have always been my love, and I feel that the knowledge I have gained from them will make be a better leader, competitor, and more knowledgable contestant. While playing these games, I constantly think of ways to keep my character alive, keep my party healthy and together, and how to best solve problems. Seeing as there has yet to be a game in this category I could not beat with ease, I feel that I am well-prepared in the areas of strategy and leadership. Also, my love for all things dystopian, especially the Hunger Games will aide me in my quest for victory. After all, people do not call me Peeta just because it is fun. As a person, I am very much like Peeta, so people just decided to call me that. Matt PoeSounds like fun! Little about me. I have 12 years’ experience serving with Naval Special Warfare in field expeditionary construction in arduous conditions. As a construction worker I could bring skills and “Can Do” attitude to a team in order to help them fulfill team goals. In 2011 I left the military and went back to school to obtain a degree in electronic engineering. I realize that some people try out for these type of shows just to become famous. I must say that my goal here is to be challenged to my breaking point and see if I have what it takes to continue in the face of insurmountable odds while having fun, not to become famous. After I competed in this show I would go home and continue work in my field of expertise.
