The Hobbit – Movie

Just announced! Academy Award Winning director Peter Jackson, the man behind the original Lord Of The Rings trilogy will be extending his planned two part Hobbit film into three and shooting is scheduled to begin soon. Casting calls and auditions for a number of exciting roles in The Hobbit are being planned and submissions from aspiring actors of all ages are being accepted now. This is an amazing chance to be a part of film history.

The Hobbit will be a three movie adaptation of the literary classic written by J. R. R. Tolkien and will serve as a direct prequel to the worldwide smash hit Lord Of The Rings films. The film will follow Bilbo Baggins as he ventures away from his home and begins the adventure of a lifetime wherein he battles goblins, giant spiders and the nefarious Gollum and ultimately claims a vast treasure guarded by Smaug the dragon at the  Lonely Mountain. Coming on the heels of the magnificent Lord Of The Rings trilogy that grossed a combined 3 billion dollars worldwide, The Hobbit may just be the most anticipated film series of all time. Mr. Jackson has recruited an impressive cast thus far including Martin Freeman (The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Sherlock) as the legendary Bilbo Baggins, and returning stars Ian Mckellen (Sherlock, X-Men) as Gandalf, Cate Blanchett (The Aviator, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) as Galadriel, Elijah Wood (Wilfred, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) as Frodo, Orlando Bloom (Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl , Kingdom of Heaven) as Legolas and Andy Serkis (Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The Adventures of Tintin) as Gollum.     I am 1,70m, I have medium length brown hair with curls and I have big blue/green eyes. I have played a lot of soccer, and after I was injured I have used the gym. So I would say I have a atheletic build.
    Since I was born I have lived abroad. I have seen many different cultures, and have a good world education. I have always attended international schools, so my english is fluent.
    As far as my past acting experience goes, I have been part of the Dubai theatrical school, had drama lessons at school and always had a part in school plays. I would say that my experience with acting is decent, but there is most definetly room for improvement. I have always been a good worker and always put 110 % into what I am doing.
    As I have traveled all over the world, and have always met new people, I can strongly say that I am good with people, and work well in groups. I can be a little shy, but I get to know people very quickly.

    Hello! Let me first start off by saying my name is Reiley Green from the United states; I am a huge fan of Lord of the Rings, The Desolation of Smaug was amazing, and funny especially when Bilbo sent the dwarves down the river and was stuck thinking hmm this did not work out as I thought it would: I have all 4 movies thus far in blu-ray! It was the orcs running in the two towers, being followed by Legolas and Aragon and Gimli that made me want to join the united states army! So I was at 216 and I am now all the way down to 146 with a six pack but was medically discharged for my eyes with Keracaconus; the only cure is in experimental cure in Europe and hopefully will be coming to America in a year or two, I can see , I’m not blind: yet. I was medically discharged upon being brought into reception in Fort Sill. I am a police science major at John Tyler Community College with an average 2.9 GPA.

    I have to admit, I have no acting experience however, I do know a lot, I’ve read all the book and own swords of my own. One thing I can say however, is I have an amazing endurance and love of mud and obstacles they endure such as the mountains and snow they have to face.I do pretty much the same I am a professional obstacle course racer. Maybe you guys have heard of Tough Mudder or Spartan Race? I set up the VA Beach Tough Mudder although it got canceled due to hurricane Irene. I work as a street team member for Spartan race recruiting people to do the races as well as had an interview for Production Assistant for the Virginia Super Spartan, our goal is to rip 3,000,000 people off their couches and change their life. Our founder Joe De Sana made a joke and said he will do a burpee for every person who liked our 3,000,000 likes post on Facebook..he had 8000 likes and he did a video it took him about a week to do all the burpees.With that said I have my Spartan race trifecta which is a medal for doing all 3 race distances, ie 5k (sprint) 15k( 9+ miles super) and the Spartan beast (half marathon 13 mile). We have as many likes as the hobbit does on Facebook. My real job is working at Hardees as a cook, it is nothing glorious, however it pays my credit card bill and helps with college and gas and what not.

    I don’t want to be famous, or make a ton of money, I just want to be a part of the film , I would do it for free! Anything would be awesome; even an orc that gets on screen for 3 seconds then slain by someone.

    PS: We are actually watching the lord of rings quintilogy ( all 4 movies thus far) for new years and getting drunk..what a way to celebrate new years among friends right!?

I am currently in college studying public services and have always I think deep down wanted to have some part in a film or production but when I was younger my confidence seemed non existent but as I grew older, now at the ripe age of 19, my confidence I think has sky rocketed. I have always loved The Lord of the rings films and Harry potter saga and now the amazing hobbit trilogy. This would be an opportunity that would never be able to be surpassed by anything in my life. Also I want to prove to people and my friends and family that I am more then just a tall guy with a deep voice. I think that if I was granted this amazing opportunity and succeeded in the role that I have probably dreamed of or a long time I would probably have a heart attack. I find my self when I want to impress people my confidence shoots rough the roof and my shell just disappears. I think that being so tall I would be quite a scary character if that’s the role I was given, which to be honest I do not mind if I got a Orc role or just a very tall dwarf. I was in my primary school in fact in a play Charlie and the chocolate factory and was the tallest of all the oompah lumpas. I felt when I was on that stage after the show had finished and everyone was clapping that I wish that I could do this as a job. I know that the chances of me receiving a part for this awesome film is going to be extremely slim but I have to try as if I don’t i will feel that I have just not tried and this will make me sad. I want to be an actor but i know that 1 more year later there is going to be nothing like hobbit .     Why should you consider me?
    Well obviously there are tons of actors with a lot of background experience applying. But you should still consider me for these reasons:
    I’m a fast learner. It hardly takes any time for me to get caught up, if somebody explains something to me they will most likely only have to explain it once, and I won’t even ask “what?”, and I can remember lines extremely easily.
    I’m easily adaptable. I can play almost anything someone wants me to! I speak fluent English, with an American/Canadian accent, though I can make Scottish or English accents, to some extent.
    I’m very committed. Even if it’s just a small school play in elementary school, I’ve always been committed to acting when i do. I do whatever I can to make the most convincing performance possible.
    I know everything about The Hobbit. Whether it’s a citizen of Lake-Town, a Hobbit of the Shire, or an Elven Warrior, since I’m a big fan of Tolkien, I know the ways of all the characters! I know how they move, fight, act, so I can bring any character to life!
    I have a gift, as some of my teachers would say. I’m very good at acting and entertaining, and I made little home movies some years back that my family loved.

    I will begin by stating how deeply I am passionate about the Tolkien films. Truly, the work and love that revolves around the making of these movies is what gave me the desire to work in the film industry in the first place. But something in me tells me that the director, crew, and cast in these films is unlike any that will ever exist in history, and it is my deepest aspiration to be a part of this beautiful moment in time. Even if I could stand on the sidelines and watch, one of my dearest dreams would come true.

    I am a tall, slender, fair-skinned woman, and I am twenty-seven years old. I have always been a singer/songwriter, movie maker, and actress ever since I was a little girl. From making homemade documentaries when I was ten years old about my dog (which required several ridiculous costume changes), constantly filming my family and friends’ daily lives for years, to filming my adventures of traveling from one side of the world to the other, my love of filming continues to grow.

    I consider myself to be a wonderful actress. It is my observation that so many actors and actresses over act, and their lack of genuineness on the screen can be spotted a mile away. This is where my strength is. I bring to life a character’s identity, and I allow them to be reality. What is so important in the Tolkien films is that these movies are not depictions of books, but documentation of a legendary history. That is why it is incredibly important that each character is absolutely real, not faked. I know that I can achieve this in my acting.

    Characters in the Tolkien films have a different air about themselves than is the case in most movies. There is a legendary presence, a sense of grandeur in the acting. It is genuine and deeply moving in a way that makes you believe such a world as Middle Earth exists, and I want to be a part of that life-giving process. It would be my greatest dream made reality if I were to act, sing, or somehow contribute my artistic ability to the making of these films. If nothing less, I would want to look at Peter Jackson and thank him for being one of my greatest heroes.

    Just on a whim, as I was going over the countless websites full of anything and everything that I could possibly read about LOTR and the Hobbit movies, I came across this one and was compelled to leave a comment of my own. I have never done anything like this before and I have no acting experience at all. I am a 62-year-old Grandma, happy and content. Like all of the others, millions of others, I too have been infatuated with The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit Trilogy. There is really nothing special about me, but I do share the dream of being a part of something that has always had such an impact on me throughout my lifetime. Just to be whisked away into the many realms of Middle Earth always was and still is an important part of my life. We all seem to need some form of escapism and LOTR has always been mine. You have given me and so many others something to look forward to in so many ways. This I am truly thankful for. As far as being cast as an extra, it would be the highlight of my life. If considered at all, I would be eternally grateful to be one of the ” background” Hobbits. Something really compelled me to leave this note with you. I do believe in miracles…I hope this one comes true.

    Hello. This probably will never come to anything, but this is a film franchise that I would love to be a part of. I really love acting, becoming a character, but more than that, a whole different person. There are more worlds to explore, lives to grow with. You can develop a character the way you want, either put your own personal twist on it, or act it exactly the way someone else wants you to.
    I don’t really have much acting experience, but I have acted in numerous school plays, and used to go to a acting class on Saturdays in my local city. I do LAMDA speech and drama grade 4 level 2 at the moment. My previous grade was passed with distinction! A result that I was very pleased with, but my teacher said was to have been expected!

    OK. now this is the part where I tell you why you should consider me.
    I am willing, will give anything a go, and I am fun loving .(I do know when to stop though!!)
    I love acting, whether a big or small acting role!
    I remember words easily, and love reading them.
    I always push myself, as far as I will go, to be the best I can be. I always set out to succeed. I really hope to be considered but before you even do do, you need a description of me!
    I have thick brown curly hair, paleish skin. I am 13 years old, and weigh 6 stone. I am about 5 feet tall perhaps a bit smaller. My favorite school subjects are design and technology, cooking, sport.

I’ve been interested in acting ever since I was in 6th grade. I would love to get an opportunity of a lifetime. I’m easy to work with. I knew that I was born to be an actress, when i was in 6th grade. I would watch the same movie over and over again. Eventually, I would say the lines at the same time as a character in a movie would say their lines. I’m good at facial expressions and making my mood look believable. Recently, I have been in a commercial. The commercial was for my theatre arts class. In the commercial, my role was to trip and fall. I made it look really believable. While my friend was recording the commercial, i had a stranger come up to me and ask if i was ok. On top of that, I scrapped my knee. But you know what? I don’t care that i scrapped my knee. I was doing the one thing that i love to do the most, acting. I think that i should be considered because i am a hard worker and im really dedicated to acting.

    I have been in many plays and musicals in and around my community as well as having been in/made a few short videos.
    I have been in some acting classes as well as stage fighting and am taking fencing lessons.
    I have always loved fantasy worlds and grew up with the lord of the rings. I love all the books and movies and have always wanted to act in or in any way help with a fantasy movie. the Hobbit would be an ideal favorite. I have grown up making videos and also sword fighting a lot to put my self in a fantasy world. I even have developed a Gollum impression just because Its fun to be that much closer to the movies. I don’t have any professional training yet, but do fence very often with real and fake swords. I would love to be involved in the third part of the hobbit. My size and eye condition do mean i don’t fit extremely easily into just any role, but I can take directions well and can be outgoing or business like as needed. I would love to be involved in the hobbit in any way. Although acting would be my favorite, I would also like helping out in any ways necessary.
