Step Up 5 – Movie

Here’s some amazing news not only for Step Up fans but also for up and coming actors and dancers everywhere – Step Up 5 is coming! That’s right, another installment of the incredible dance filled film franchise is set to begin production soon and casting calls for a number of fabulous roles will be taking place very soon. This is the chance for several performers of all ages to ‘Step Up’ into an exciting movie career.

Step Up 5 will follow the series previous hits Step Up, Step Up 2: The Streets, Step Up 3D and Step Up Revolution which have grossed an unbelievable $570 million dollars in worldwide box office all while launching the career of some of Hollywood’s favorite stars. Plot details for Step Up 5 are being kept very secret at this time but the producers goal is to have a Fast And the Furious type climax that will feature a veritable all-star team from the first four films including mega star Channing Tatum (Magic Mike, 21 Jump Street, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra), Jenna Dewan-Tatum (American Horror Story, 10 Years, Take the Lead), Briana Evigan (Sorority Row, S. Darko, Longmire), Sharni Vinson (You’re Next, NCIS, Home And Away) and Ryan Guzman (Pretty Little Liars, Beyond Paradise, April Rain). The rumors are dancing around but what is known for sure is that Step Up 5 is happening and you could be a part of it.

Coming up in the neighborhood I lived in, in queens was very rough for a lot of people I know. I was maybe the only one around my neighborhood that did not get into trouble. Why, because I was always in dance school after school. Dancing saved my life if it had not been for dance I would probably be a trouble maker as my surrounding peers were.     My name is Darrien L. Staples. Have you ever had something that sparked something in you and you cannot part with it, that is my life with dancing. I have been dancing since I was 8 years old, no schooling on it, I just learned from my surroundings. Growing up in the rough parts of Chicago Illinois, there was not much to do but to either join a gang or be in jail. My parents saw things better for me, so we moved to Aurora Illinois. During this time, I lost a very important person in my life, my grandmother. She was that person I’d turn to when I felt like there was no one or nothing else, and I began to stumble and fall. After her passing, I literally felt like I had nothing, that was until dancing fell out of heaven into my life. I grew up watching movies like “You Got Served” and all of the “Step Up” Movies. Dance was and still is something that just clicked with me, and everyone has said that I had a passion for it. Fast forward to my senior year of high school, after a bunch of people begging me to do my schools talent show, I finally did. To my surprise, I got first place! So then I start to think that maybe I do have something worth doing in life. Around this time I had a YouTube account that was inactive and i thought it would be cool to put up some dance videos. I received a lot of positive feedback for fellow friends and strangers, I’ve been doing videos Ever since.

    But enough about me babbling on about my life. The reason why you should consider me, is because I never put so much of my heart into anything other than dancing. It has literally kept me going through those dark days and nights. I can ask you to consider me all I want, all I want is a chance to prove myself, that’s all I want. I want to show the world that a dream can come true if you put your heart into something you believe in.

    Hello my name is Logan and I am currently 14 years old living in the DFW area in Texas. I am an experienced singer,actress ,dancer and gymnast and because of this I can bring much to the table. I am African-American with brown eyes and long black hair. I am 5’3 and weigh about 115 lbs and I have a passion for many things that have to do with the fine arts world, and acting is definitely one of them.

    I have had the pleasure to work with Casa Mañana when they debuted ‘Into the Woods Junior’ and the Atlanta Ballet Centre for Dance Education when they performed ‘The Nutcracker’ and those experiences have helped shaped my acting career and have helped hone my technique. Other events such as ‘Once Upon a Time’, multiple years of competitive cheerleading,recitals, talent shows, and a performance at Universal Studios with my school choir have also helped along the way.

    I believe that I should be cast for Step Up 5 because I am a definite ‘jack of all trades’. Why look for one dancer, one actress, one singer, ect., when you can find one girl that is able to do it all? My experience and abilities could only add to the already amazing cast for Step Up 5.

I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois and I have done quite a few great projects during my life. I can perform contemporary, modern, jazz, ballet, and my strongest style of dance is Hip-Hop. I currently go to Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA) to train and solidify my dance technique.

    I have been watching Step Up movies ever since the first “Step Up” and i have been pushed and inspired not only to train on Hip-Hop but also in other genres of dance. I consider myself as having a great personality especially when i dance. i love dance. i basically breath dance. I would love to audition for “Step Up 5” and show everyone who i am through dance.

In grade 6, a.k.a. 2010-2011, I auditioned for the role of Jasmine in the musical Aladdin Kids. For my auditions all of my lines were memorized and the judges or whatever you call them, well in this case it would be you, were impressed. I played the role of Jafar, the evil villain. I memorized all my lines, and everyone elses in the first week of getting the script. Any chance I got to have extra help to become even better, I took in a heart beat. We performed four shows and I remember at the last show a women, who I didn’t know, came up to me and gave me a rose and told me I was amazing. It felt so amazing to feel appreciated for something I love to do. I’m a perfectionist, I’m not satisfied until it’s perfect, so I work at everything I do until I feel it meets the bar of expectation or even exceeds it. This school year I will be going into grade 9 and I’m sure that I will be given more and more opportunities to audition for plays at my new school. Although, being a part of the newest Step Up movie casting would be a dream come true. I’ve always had a little part of me that wanted to be an actress, but I thought I’d have a one in a million chance to make it. But watching all the Disney Channel Classics, I realized that I wanted to be just like them. Selena Gomez in particular made me realize that this could actually happen.
