AbigailHonestly, I just love dancing; it’s my passion. Whenever I hear a song with the right beat, it’s like I just have to dance and move around. And it would actually be so amazing if I could perform in Step Up. However everyone here seems so talented and you’ve dedicated your whole lives to dancing. Meanwhile, I’m 18 and I just found out my passion for dancing 2 or 3 years ago, and I haven’t had the chance to take it seriously. I’ve never been in a dance crew before and I’ve never performed in front of an audience before. Actually, only several of my friends know that I enjoy dancing, and even my parents don’t know. Whenever I dance, it feels as if I’ve got my whole heart in the dance. I have my own unique style that I don’t really know how to describe. It’s like sometimes my whole body moves around like a wave but then it stops as if I’m doing isolations. This isn’t a style I developed but it’s just something that comes out naturally when I listen to a song. Yeah, it’s rather tricky to describe. Besides that, I also have a love for break dancing. It seems like if you can do those moves, then you can do anything. Right now, I can do a kip up, several variations of a freeze, and several basic breakdance moves. I really want to learn the windmill and aerial flips but I don’t have any place to practice. Besides that, my parents will kill me if they found I’m trying to do these dangerous tricks. Right now, I’m not sure why I’m talking about this. I guess it’s because I just want to get it out, these feeling I mean. I would love to appear in a Step Up movie, but it can wait. I wanna get better first: learn more breakdance moves, make my own choreography, create youtube videos just of me dancing. Hopefully by then I can get a spot in one of the Step Up movies. I have been following the Step Up movies since the release of the first movie, and always wondered what it would be like to be a part of the production. When I stumble across this post I had to reply because this opportunity does not happen too often. I began dancing at age four and have never stopped since then. I have experience in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, and Hip-Hop. I first danced competitively when I was 11 and continued to do so,eventually competing in the National Dance Team Championship all four years of high school and also at The College Dance Nationals with The University of Memphis. I am now no longer competing, but I am currently an Instructor at a Studio near Fort Collins. Every since then, I continued to dance and performed, competed, and auditioned with a variety of styles such as Hip Hop, Ballet, Jazz, Wacking, Housing, Tutting, Lyrical and Co-Ed stunts/lifts. I was offered a National Dance Academy scholarship and made it into the top 10 dancers in the USA Spirit Association All American Dancer competitions three times. My dance experience and history consists of: Garry Dance Studio, John Burroughs High School 4-year dance team member & 2-year head captain and the UC Riverside Spirit Squad/Highlander girls. I was the first Freshman to make it into the John Burroughs HS Dance Team in many years AND was the very first freshman to make it into the Varsity squad. In the 2 years I was head captain, I lead my team to 5 1st place National titles in 3 different styles of dance in which we competed against 15+ team from all around the Nation in those categories along with a Judges Award of Excellence. This coming Fall I will be auditioning for either 909 Hip Hop Dance Team or Team Millennia as well as auditioning to become a Disneyland Parade Dancer/Performer in the coming month. I would LOVE to be a dancer in the Step Up 5 movie because I know it’ll be a different experience for me. I dance 24/7 to compete but being in this movie would allow me to rehearse for something simply just to showcase my talent rather than compete for a trophy or a title. I play soccer & sometimes basketball with friends.I have a lot of experience in acting and dancing. I can actually say I’m a fast learner when it comes to learning new steps for dances & learning lines. i know how it feels to actually perform infront of judges & a lot of people. I was in cheerleading for 2 years & I also been in theatre class since 7th grade. I also been in a lot of 15 & I still know some of the dances. I’m very energetic , somewhat flexible , joyful , a little bit bossy , very organized , I am one of those people that would actually motivate & help others learn new things. I’m also a hard working person, I love reading & working out. I watched all of the step up movies & their fantastic ! I’m about to turn 16 in a couple of months. Antwan Walker Jr "Mauii"Good Morning,My name is Antwan Walker, Jr. My dance name “Mauii” is an alter ego of mine that comes out when I perform/dance. I am interested in becoming a part of this film not only because I love dance, but because dance is what I breath. It’s the only subject that’s constantly on my mind day in and day out. Most nights I even dream of myself being as big of a professional dancer as Beyonce’s back-up dancer, or even Chris Brown’s, Ciara’s, and many other great artists that are out today. I have never auditioned for a movie before, but I know I have the moves, the confidence, the face, the body, and the courage to step onto a set and just fall in. I am a natural hip-hop/choreography dancer. Meaning if I am taught something, I will learn it without any issues. I have been dancing since the age of three years old. My first choreography I learned was Janet Jackson’s I Get So Lonely routine. I learned it just watching the music video over, and over until I got every move down pack just as she was doing in the video. It’s funny because, ever since I could remember, I have been daydreaming of the day that I actually become a real dancer for an artist, or in a movie role. So not only is dance my life, but it’s what I want to do for a career. I can’t see myself doing anything else but dancing, rehearsing for shows, etc. If you pick me, I promise to practice till I bleed, and practice till my moves are as technical, and precise as my own choreography. Laken FranksI’ve grown up watching the step up movies, and I absolutely love them! I love to dance, I dance all the time. I love the rhythm of up beat music, I feel something when I dance. I feel unstoppable. When I dance I feel my body going with the beat. It’s such a rush, the feeling is indescribable. I’m a quick learner, and I’m always up for a challenge, especially when it comes to doing something I love, limits are endless when it comes to dance. I completely fell in love with the dancing and how much effort and how they won’t give up until they get to the top which I was so inspired by. Now to be completely honest idk if I’m a good dancer or not. I don’t have a lot of confidence in myself to show people what I’ve got. Anyways I’m in love with dancing and music and when I combine them together I can feel electricity going through my body I can feel my heart opening and at that moment i feel free and I feel like no one could stop me. And I also want to be in the next step up movie because Since I was a little girl I’ve always dreamt of being someone important when I grow up. I know that I have what it takes to become someone huge and people know I do but they think that I can’t become what I want to be which is a singer and a dancer because I’m Muslim. I want to change that. I want to show them that just because I’m Muslim does not mean I can’t do what I love and it can not stop me from being who I was meant to be. I want to make a change. Rebecca KrauszI’m really hoping this isn’t some joke and that I could really get into this movie because this is my dream, I’ve been dancing for almost 10 years but I’ve been dancing hip hop for 6 years. I love it! I went to a few other auditions that my dance teacher recommended but it turned out to be for older kids like 18 year olds, I’m only 13. I’m currently in a competing dance team. I also auditioned for a hip hop solo at my studio and I got it. I know you guys probably have a LOT of people applying, and I can’t really compare myself to people I have never met. I can say one thing though: I have watched all the step up movies. They give me inspiration and energy and I get so much dance moves out of it. Whenever I see that one kid in your movie doing some cool arm wave, I always say to myself, “I want to be that kid one day.” Before I become older I want to be a kid in a movie. I want to have just one scene where I do my own thing. I’m good at acting too but not professional. In camp I was Troy in high school musical, so I did all that dancing and singing and acting. This means a lot to me and I really hope you consider me as someone who could actually be apart of a movie. AndrewMy name is Andrew. Ever since I could walk, I was dancing. My family knew I had a talent at a very young age. Whenever music was playing, they would make me get up and start dancing. They knew that I heard and felt music differently than kinds my age. Whenever my friends see a cool dance on youtube or somewhere, Im the first they think of and send that dance to. I have loved dancing my whole life, and after the step up movies started coming out, I learned that dancing was more than just moves to music, its an outlet for emotions, its a part of who we are as humans, its a way of communication, it can make someones day. Ever since step up 2, my dream in life was to be a part of what started it all for me. Kalani BihnReasons to pick me? Step-Up movies were my inspiratiot to be a hip-hop dancer.Hello! My name is Kalani Bihn, and I am eighteen years old from the small town of Perrysburg, Ohio. I watched my first Step-Up movie in fifth grade, and was forever changed after that moment. I still scream when I watch it. After that I became inspired by the Les Twins; they worked so beautifully together and brought comedy and theatre to hip hop for me. I shouldn’t say Burlesque was also an inspiration, but it was; the choregraphy in that movie is so sexy! Hip hop is something that I express everywhere: I moonwalk in Walmart; I dance in my room when I wake up; I dance to work out. I dance wherever I am, because I can dance to the beat of my heart. I started taking dance classes in seventh grade after realizing soccer wasn’t my thing. I loved it from the start. Learning new chreography and expressing yourself through your body with beats and rhythm is inexplicably beautiful. To live idealistically is to live holistically is what I believe. I have always wanted to perform, and am willing to work on whatever I need to. I know headstands and spins. I know sexy and sharp. I know how to work with myself and with others. Dance is sporatic, and expressive, just like some of the random experiences I’ve had.I will never forget the first time I went to a club in Miami. I just was freestyling, and before i knew it there was a crowd around me cheering me on. I actually had the owner of a new strip bar down there ask me if I could come dance for him. I kindly declined his offer. To be honest, I never wanted to work at a Strip Club, but just him asking me made me feel like I could dance well. Additionally, apart from dancing, I love theatre.I adore to read scripts and act out theatrical parts. I’ve been apart of multiple theatrical productions in my home town. I love to emotional and dramatic in both my acting and dancing. Life is so much more exciting when everything is “full out”.Dance has been a passion of mine since watching my first Step Up movie so to be apart of the set would be an dream come true. So here I am, eighteen and taking a huge leap into my dreams.
