SophieHi, I think I should be considered because I never have been considered before. I’ve tried out for other reality tv shows before and haven’t made it. SukieHello. My name is Sukie. I have been singing sinI was 2 years old. Since the very first day my mother told me that I had a beautiful voice, I knew then that my passion would forever be singing. When I was in the 6th grade, I took general music. When I was in the 8th grade, I auditioned for choir for my freshman year in high school and I got in.That same year, I went to a solo/ensemble competiton and did a solo called Se Tu Mami So Spiri. With a 1 being the highest score and DQ being the lowest, I scored a 1 and earned my letterman jacket, I went on to state, and I was one out of the 14 freshman who auditioned that made it to state( 3 freshman in total made it to state!!). When I was a sophomore, I was placed in varsity choir. I went to state once again and earned another patch on my letterman. This year,however, I did not make it to state. Much like me, when everyone heard I didn’t make it, they were in complete shock. I am currently a junior in highschool, and I have one more year. Singing is my life. Tressa KelleyHello! My name is Tressa, I am 25 years old. I have been singing since I learned to make noise. It has been my passion my whole life. I have done a few amateur covers and won several karaoke competitions, written numerous songs, and strive to take my singing career further. It has been challenging for me as a singer to really invest money in because I have been on my own since I was 17. I continued school to college and I am still a student working hard to get a Music Education degree, and have been working part time, paying bills, etc. So there was little left over to invest in lessons to better my etiquette, and improving piano/guitar, and so I was unable to take it further. The past year or so has really changed my life. My boyfriend and I bought a house, I am no longer doing everything on my own, we have amazing teamwork, and he pushes me to take it as far as I can and believes in me. We have plans to put a studio in the house. I would love this opportunity to test my ability for not only to make my family proud for never giving up no matter how hard things got, but also to prove to myself that it was worth holding on to. BonnieMy grandson, Ian is 17 years old. He and his friends have formed a band and have practiced day and late nights whenever they can. He has applied to Berkley College of Music and if accepted will apply for scholarships but if he can have the opportunity to get a chance on Rising Star, it will give him the confidence he needs to realize his potential. He had a hearing problem and was slow to learn how to speak. It is amazing that he now plays the guitar, drums and is their lead singer. I would have never expected him to be able to do this when I was trying to teach him how to say blue when he could not pronounce the blend of BL. Ashley MarieHello my name is Ashley Marie and I am 26 years old. I have been singing practically since I could speak and would love the opportunity to be the next Rising Star. I have auditioned for every vocal competition out there, first American Idol, then The X Factor and finally The Voice (3xs). Each attempt has helped me grow and develop as an artist, allowing me to learn more about myself as well as my talent. I know the competition is fierce but I am determined to have my moment in the spotlight. I have a versatile voice singing anything from Country (Carrie Underwood), to Pop (Lady Gaga/Pink) to Rap (Eminem). I have even considered taking my talent another direction incorporating Opera. My grandfather was an Opera singer and as no one else in my family besides myself can sing, (literally) I like to believe my talent came from him. A man I never got to know as he passed away years before I was born. He suffered from severe Anxiety which held him back from many opportunities. A trait I also unfortunately believe I acquired from him, but that I have been working for years to overcome so that I don’t suffer the same fate of wondering what could have been. I most enjoy singing for charity as I know that my reward is that I am making someone else happy. I have had the opportunity to sing for First Lady Michelle Obama during the 2012 election, at the Gaylords in Orlando, Florida in 2013, and on our local television station (channel 6) honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy for 2 yaers. I have also performed several songs for the recreation department in Petersburg, Virginia during their summer camp activities. I am currently attending college in my Freshaman year at an HBCU. I love college because I am studying Psychology but I want to make a career in the music industy. My parents want me to obtain my degree but also support my love for music and entertaining. I have had some challenges in life with bullying in high school and the recent suicide of my favorite uncle at a young age but I have been working hard to get through the challenges. My enthusiastic attitude, energetic personality, and willingness to work with coaches are reasons why I should be considered for your show Rising Star. They have amazing voices and every vocal coach they have had says they have perfect pitch and they should be singing professionally. Her and her sister used to sing karaoke together and would get asked by the owners to come back to help draw in crowds. Allison TurnerHi I’m twenty years old am from Austin Texas and absolutely love to sing it is one of my passions and I have been signing in many different choirs since I was in elementary school. I am currently a college student in Odessa Texas and currently sings in a church choir. Music has been a big part of my life and I want it to stay that way, it especially has helped me through some difficult times this year. About nine days after my birthday this year my dad had passed away of a heart attack and I really havent been the same since it happened. He was the man who I came to for everything big or small and to lose someone so important to me was difficult to handle so I did what felt right, I put my headphones in and blasted my ipod. He pushed me to do the things I love, even if others disagreed with it. Artists such as Avril Lavigne, Miranda Lambert, Christina Aguilera, and Luke Bryan have helped me through this time and it only feels right to be able to share my ability to sing with others like they do. Shiane EubanksFor starters- I’m not even sure if this is real, and I hope I’m not wasting my thoughts. My name is Shiane Eubanks, and I’m 21 yo. I know this is probably going to seem like another tedious comment your publicist told you to read, but I’ve been believing all my life that somehow I’ll make my voice known on stage. My parents have always sheltered me, and I even had a bad case of the “step-child” factor. Always loved and appreciated, yet my creativity and inspiration was put down with people around me saying, “You’ll never make it”. Why even try? I tried a local talent/beauty pageant and it was amazing the feeling I’d gotten when the curtains went back and I belted out my own voice. I even overwhelmed myself at the end, but that was when I was in the 9th grade- at 14 yo. My capability to adapt became more and more apparent. I’d fully bloomed. I write my own music, sing my own lyrics, and do so because of other artists inspirations I’ve grown to love. I live in Brevard, North Carolina (Asheville area). I may not have won, but I was the only Freshman to participate out of my class in a school of only about 600 people. Grew up in a very small town, and now all I can dream about is my chance to soar through my dream of being a model singer.
