David TerreroMy name is David Terrero. I am a 33 year old solo performer. I have been singing since I was three. I play guitar, sing, write my own music, play covers and play all of the instruments on my recordings (guitar, bass, drums, piano, other percussion). Currently my solo music is self produced. I was lead singer of a band called Lavender Disaster for five years. Our fast success in my hometown led us to move to NYC, my birthplace, to pursue our dream when I was 19. Our original drummer, now a member of the band ‘Thursday’, did not move with us. We replaced him and over time had begun to near success and achieve our goals. This is what halted those dreams then. I lived with a girl I Loved and on the morning of September 11th, 2001 we could see the twin towers burn from our brooklyn window. My guitarist was in manhattan and so was my girlfriends sister, and near that area. I wasn’t sure if they were alive. Phone lines went down. As I had worked a day job at the Wallstreet Reporter for awhile, I was familiar with the financial district and my then girlfriend Jeri ( a photographer) and our friend and neighbor Dave and I decided to take the subway tunnels, bring flash lights and walk from brooklyn to manhattan and eventually to as close to ground zero as we could get. I wanted to see if I could help. When we got to street level it was unbelievable. There is a photo of Dave and I there, in white face masks, just beyond the edge of ground zero looking at the utter devestation. There was nothing I could do and it crushed me. I tried to go on and pretend I was okay. My band and I went into the studio to record a much awaited E.P. that would serve as a sampler for A & R purposes, to get our stuff out to record companies. We recorded the four song E.P. but by that time the pain of what we had seen, the stress of the economy of NYC crashing and all of that death took a toll on my relationship, my mental health. I was diagnosed with P.T.S.D. and couldn’t stand to be in New York City anymore. I wanted to be near my family because suddenly Life seemed more important than success and I walked away from it all. After taking some time to recover somewhat I began performing as a soloist in my hometown. I Perform live shows regularly, have developed loyal fans locally and via the internet, abroad as well, but I have no real channel or opportunity to achieve mainstream success as things are, so I though I would give this a try. Why not? I will keep doing what I am doing no matter what happens. I LOVE music, Love Rock and Roll and believe it’s not only a great thing because it is great entertainment but because it connects people, can help people through hard times and can potentially even save a life by letting a listener know there are other people out there who feel the same things that they do. I’m not really out to change the World, but perhaps if I could change a Life for the better, even if it’s just by giving someone some damn good tunes to listen to, to be the soundtrack to their lives then I am all about it. There are some videos of me on youtube.com and other video sharing pages, some music up on myspace, facebook and reverbnation but I am hoping to get some better quality videos up soon as far as visual and sound quality. I have been struggling for over 25 years watching all my favorite artist make it big knowing I could be just as good if not better. Today, I have grown up so much. I don’t compare myself anymore to other artist. I have grown from that mentality. I am my own! I have my own sound. I am a singer for almost every genre but I love R&B/ Alternative/ Pop/ Soul/ Hip-Hop but only as a featured artist. I have several different styles but one voice. I have energy out the roof and emotional soulful stage presence unlike any other. I jam like a pro as a rhythm guitarist and scream on the piano like Jerry Lee Lewis. Then I may turn around and play a piece for a male version of Adele with soulful vocals. I just can’t seem to catch a break. I promise if you pick me, you won’t be disappointed. Just listen to how far I have come. My vocal coach says I have a song right now that could receive a GRAMMY. He has been a voting member since the 70’s and worked with Anita Baker. I focus mainly on my rap skills but i also sing the majority of my own choruses. i go by the artist name of Filosophy and i chose that name because i plan on changing the music game by Rapping about something more meaningful to people around the world. i want my music to be heard world wide and be known for its insight and enthusiasm about things other than the usual sex, money, and drugs. i want to make music that everyone enjoys yet still want to dance to. i would love a real opportunity to put myself out there on a global scale to see how people react to my music. this would also be a great learning experience for me to perform as well as take on the constructive criticism that may follow. i appreciate any and all opportunities that are given to me and i always make the most out of what Im given. MichelleI am 40 and never had any children, but my “biological clock” is ticking to the rhythm of music. I have been singing since I was old enough to speak and frequently perform the anthem at sporting events. I am also working on an original songwriting project. Ria DiyHi, I am a 15-yr old singer/songwriter/musician/artist and I am very passionate about music. I have formal training in voice and piano but I also play the guitar and dance. I have always been writing (literary and music) since I was 7 and performed at the Composers Gala in Coquitlam, BC, Canada at 7 yrs old playing my own original jazz composition, ‘Who’s There?’ on the piano. I started singing at recitals when I was 9 but went public when I was 13 where I would audition for contests. Unfortunately, they have discontinued Canada’s Got Talent which would have been the only national competition left in Canada and it is a pity because there are so many talented artists in our country. I recently won the Ridge Meadows Got Talent (local) competition in Maple Ridge, BC for my original pop song ‘Just Like You’ and also made it to Top 16 semifinalists for The Next Star. I am among the 4 Wild Card auditions selected by the popular TV Show which holds auditions all across Canada. They say that I write songs far beyond my age and I am very happy to be writing for I inspire a lot of kids my age, or even the older generation.
