I stand strong on my convictions and it is displayed in my artistry. I’ve had the pleasure of singing background on numerous CDs. My talents including acting as well as I have starred in a number of plays. This would be such an awesome opportunity to be a part of the Whitney Houston story. My interest is not just that it will be great for me but because I am so interested in Whitney being honored in such a great way.

I hope to hear from the selection committee.

    Thank You,
    Joan Martin

  11. Allyson M. Mooney

I grew up listening to Whitney, the first female singer I idolized (and still do, there are only 2 out of all the singers I like). I practiced her songs and wore out my cassettes tapes. Whenever I needed an audition song or was in a situation I needed to confidently sing, I sang a Whitney song and was even complemented that I sounded like her (I took it as a compliment obviously, but there is only one Whitney and there will never be anyone like her!) I wore out the karaoke cd for “I Will Always Love You” with my friend’s karaoke system, they would have me sing when they were at a new bar to show off their services (again, I was honored to help out). My karaoke debut, I was nervous and I sang “Greatest Love of All” and the cd stopped working but I kept singing and that is how I gained respect, thanks to Whitney! I also sang that song to win a scholarship at college. I sang “Saving All My Love for You” for a competition at the New York State Fair where I gave my first autograph to a sweet young boy. Whitney was my inspiration to sing the National Anthem for a graduation ceremony at my college and then I went on to sing it for my college’s hockey games for 4 seasons. “One Moment in Time” gives me goosebumps! I had never flown before and when I went from NY to CA, I was blessed with timing it just right to see Whitney’s whole floor at the Grammy Museum, I was in awe! “The Bodyguard” holds a special place in my heart because we saw it in the theatre after my baby cousin died and then a year later they lost another baby and we came home to watch “The Bodyguard” on TV (not to mention it is the greatest soundtrack of all time! Which I use to sing my way home on long night drives!) I miss Whitney dearly, I never got to see her in concert, but I am glad she shared her talents with us while she could. It broke my heart to see her struggle, but I know now she is singing with the angels! I started singing in church too, but in my life, it was Whitney’s voice that was gospel to me! To be a part of something to honor her would be humbling and I would be honored to do so! I didn’t have to meet her to feel so close to her, she spoke to my heart!

  12. La'Daija

Hi! My name is La’Daija C. Peebles. I am a 16 year old young African American female currently living in Alabama. I have been singing for my entire life and that has always been my career choice. On a daily basis my friends, family, and even my bus driver call me Whitney in honor of Whitney Houston. Not only because of my voice but because of my looks! I am very determined to live my dream of becoming a famous Singer. I have a passion for singing but also making music. Considering me for this opportunity would be a dream come true. I really hope that I do get that chance. I believe if you just let me get a chance to show you my talent you would be blown away. !

  13. Trinity Bryant

My name is Trinity Bryant. I am 11 years old. I am very intelligent. I’ve been a member of my school’s chorus since fourth grade. I’ve recently been a member of the BCSD All County Chorus. I have work ethic. I’m willing to persevere to get a role in this movie about this phenomenal woman. 14. Kristin

Hey there, I would love to be apart of this story.
I am sure we all have a connection to Whitney, however I share her connection to music.
Singing has always been my best friend, no matter what I have overcome my voice has been my lighthouse.
I sing because I was born with the gift, I also sing because I have to.

    Kristin

  15. Kathleen Burke

I desire to be considered for a role in this film because Whitney Houston has been apart of my life since I was four years of age. Growing up, I would stand in front of the mirror in the hallway with hair brush in hand (my microphone) and sing Whitney Houston songs. She has inspired my life with her vibrant vigor and phenomenal vocals. My first album owned was the cassette tape of the Preacher’s Wife soundtrack. I would re-watch that movie over and over just to see the scene of Whitney with Lionel Richie in the night club performing “I Believe in You and Me”. Aside from my love for Whitney, I also sing. And by listening to her, I believe I achieved a standard for myself that would have been impossible had she not influenced me. Her life and legacy has influenced me to continue on when I felt like giving up and the world has witnessed the loss of a very special human being, and like most, though I did not know her personally, she influenced me personally. Nothing would please me more than to gain the opportunity to partake in something representative of her legacy. I am not a ‘professional actress’ but I have been lead in a play at non-profit Liberty Theater Cultural Center in Columbus, GA and I can sing my face off. Life is about the fulfillment the art gives and how you inspire people, and this woman did just that.

  20. Shannon Fowler

Hi, I am a singer and a writer and I love the arts. It would be of great privilege to take part in the movie of Whitney Houston whose singing and heart I just admired. Seeing her struggles both on screen and off made my heart go out to her and feel I could relate to her confusion and confidence well. Amidst the pain enduring within and the fight to keep her on track with the help of her mom. This is what life is made of. I’d be honored. I’d love to sing a song in her memory. Keep the dream alive.

  27. Shakeena English

Hello all. Longstory short I love Whitney Houston. Ever since the bodyguard soundtrack came out I had my Fisher Price cassette player. My late grandmother would let me sing each song and than would tell me “sing it just like her”. I learned how to sing vocally in church and from following Whitney Houston’s vocal range. Every night I will pray for her health as she was going through her drug addition. I even believed that one day I was going to receive a Grammy Award from her.On the night cnn confirmed her passing I was crying the whole night and a the whole day watching her home going service. I feel that whatever role is available an extra, singing background just to say that I would be a part of her life story would be the ultimate honor in her passing for me.
    Thank you

  43. Tanya Porter McKan

Hi my name is Tanya Porter McKan, I’m 32 years old and it would be a priviledge and a honor to be a part of production tributing to our missed “Queen” Ms. Whitney Houston. She was one like no other and no one will ever be able to replace her angelic voice. The day of her passing felt as if I lost a very close relative. I don’t get caught up in the hype of celebrities but Ms. Whitney Houston was someone that I loved….not because she was famous but because I could see beyond her exterior. Her spirit was phenomenal. With all of that said, being apart of this movie will basically allow me to be part of her in such a way. Her story has been POSITIVELY been told through her music, through her VOICE…..Through her singing. The reason why I should be picked for this movie, not because I want to be seen or get my face out there (that doesn’t interest me) but because no one can tell Whitney Houston Story better than her. Therefore, you need people with HEART and SPIRIT to bring life to the script and to ensure that The Whitney Houston Story can really be told even in here absence…..that would be ME! TPM

The choir was so excited but, there was a change of plans. I love her music and would love to have the opportunity to sing in this theatrical event.

  48. Holly Dillon

Hi my name is Holly Dillon, and I would like to be considered for a role in this film, because I followed Whitney’s career from the time I started living in East Orange New Jersey, after I went to one of my first school concerts. There was this skinny young girl that came out on stage with one of the most powerful voices that I have ever heard from a high school student. It was Whitney. I rehearsed to every song that was released of hers thereafter; before I did a show (singing in a local band). I still sing Whitney’s songs, and my daughter in law said a few moments ago; “If you all were in the dark and did n’t know that Whitney was gone, hearing my mother in law sing her songs, you would think that Whitney was in the room with you”. Whitney not only sang with grace but her acting was effortless.

    Thank you for the consideration.

I started following Whitney Elizabeth Houston when she was modeling and fell more in love with her beauty and talent when I first heard her sing on Ed Sullivan. She is and always will be the Voice. I am not an actor but to be a part of this tribute movie would be amazing. I have appeared in one Whitney Houston music video (So Emotional) as part of the concert crowd, I have everything Whitney and have been president of the Whitney Houston Fan Club I started back in 84-85. The loss of this remarkable, talented and beautiful women is still heavy on my heart as I know it is for all her true and loyal fans. Whether good or bad I like many others never stopped loving our Whitney Houston (Nippy). I still remember the first time I got to meet her in person and will always cherish that moment and the many others. She will Always be Loved and never forgot for her talent whether it through her music, movies or her countless charity work will be with us all forever.
