Broad Green Pictures to Develop Orphan TrainBroad Green Pictures is currently developing a feature film based on the bestselling novel, Orphan Train, written Christina Baker Kline. Orphan Train was published in 2013 and has sold more than two million copies in 35 countries.Kline’s novel takes its name from the rains that regularly traveled from cities in the East Coast to the Midwest between 1854 and 1929 which carried thousands of abandoned children whose fates would be determined upon their arrival. Orphan Train is set in modern day Maine, and tells the intricate tale of two lives. Kline’s novel tells the stories of a 91-year-old Irish immigrant Vivian Daly, who was shipped from New York to Minnesota on the orphan train as a child and a 17-year-old Molly Ayer, who is on the brink of aging out of the foster care system.
