I used to love acting out scenes from them with my friends when I was younger. Alyssa SpridgeonHello, My name is Alyssa Spridgeon and I am 14 years old. I am applying for this opportunity, because I have been singing since I was very small and it is a passion of mine and something that I wish to further. I also enjoy acting very much, I like to immerse myself into a completely different role and it gives me a lot of confidence. I don’t have as much experience or as many references as some of these people, but I have performed many times before, including at local fairs, auditions for vocal competitions and this year, at Disney’s American Idol Experience in Florida. It was incredible. I am also going into high school this September at a school for the Performing Arts, which I had to audition for with a monologue and song/vocal excercises etc. Disney has been a huge part of my life, and I’ve grown up watching it and admiring the actors and actresses on it, and wishing I could be like them. This is something I would love to pursue for the rest of my life and even if I were to be cast as an extra in a movie or TV show, it would be a major step towards that goal. Finally, a bit about me: I am 5’3 with medium/long blonde hair with natural brown underneath. I’m not stick thin but I don’t think I’m exactly curvy. Maybe a little bit. I’m very athletic and balance being on a high level soccer team with academics, and finished this year with high grades particularly in English. Sofia HerreraHelo my name is Sofia Herrera and I think that I have what it takes to be on the Disney Channel because all my life i’ve thought that you go to school, than you go to college, you get a job, fall in love with somebody, get married, and have children. But ever since the fifth grade, i’ve felt like I have something. You know people are always telling my mom and I “Oh your daughter is such a joy, she has such a light, she shines.” I feel livivng a normal life isn’t good enough for me. I feel this could possibly be my chance. I was in a pagent when I was in the fifth grade and won first place in the actress competition. I thought about starting up acting classes and doing commercials but, I thought I was to young. I said maybe in a few years I will really know what I want to do with myself and my life. I do have a great family life with a good and firm foundation. I am in club soccer and I’m about to start high school. Additionally, I know what college I want to attend. I know what I want to be when I grow up. But, for some reason, that just isnt good enough. For me. It’s not about being in it for the fame or the fortune, Fame and fortune would be great. However, it’s about looking into the eyes of the kids and seeing the joy and laughter I am able to bring to them knowing that they’re happy. This is what makes me happy. And honestly, that’s what I want to do; thats what I think its all about. For some reason, acting has always just kept coming back to me. Acting is constantly on my mind.
