Wayne RiegerI do love the show and I almost always know the answers to the questions asked. However, that doesn’t remove the “nervousness” aspect and the times when you know it but start to get doubts. But I am sure I could do well and I would love to give it a go. I did apply here as well. While my education happened many years ago as I am 63 I do remember most of the questions posed on the show. Give me a shot and let me see if my confidence is warranted 🙂 0 Reply September 1, 2015

John ManganAs a retired school teacher who has enjoyed “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?” for a few years now, I would love to have the opportunity to see if I can indeed demonstrate my skills and knowledge in front of a nation-wide audience. I would love to make the trip from the great Midwest (Walthill, Nebraska) to the Big Apple (where I lived for eleven years through high school and college) to audition for the show. Way back in (1980, I think) I was a contestant on “The $20,000 Pyramid,” hosted by Dick Clark. I did well, but not totally well. I think I could do really well on “Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader” because, in all honesty, I think I AM smarter than your average fifth grader. 0 Reply August 24, 2015

AlanI have a degree in Aerospace Engineering (yes some rocket science in there). I have also worked 8 or so years in electrical engineering as a Sales Engineer (including starting my own business) and am currently working as a Project Engineer for a small start-up. I am married with 2 children and am active politically. Currently serving as a local City Commission member, I have also run 2 times for local City Council and one time for CA Lt. Governor (not too many people can say that). One can argue that there aren’t any politicians that are smarter than 5th graders (but I haven’t won any elections, so perhaps my brains still remain?) Then again I am active in 3rd party politics so perhaps it is doubtful if I have more brain power than a toddler. I haven’t given up my interest in politics and will be running for office in 2016. Generally my head is full of random facts, and I can remember some of what I knew in 5th grade, so why not put that to use entertaining people and perhaps win some money? 0 Reply January 17, 2015
