Matthew UsackHi Copycat and MTV! My name is Matthew Usack, I am 16 years old and as many of the other people here, I sleep, eat and breath music. I realized how much I love it and my natural ability when I was 8 years old and performed at a school talent show. In 2013, at age 15, I tried out for The Voice. There were about 5,000-6,000 people in Philadelphia and I was one of the few chosen for a call back. Unfortunately, I didn’t know what to expect but the executive producers loved my voice and said to come back next year and to build and grow my confidence but I had true talent. I took what they said to heart and really began to focus on my voice and performances after that. I competed for a New York State Twin Tiers Idol Competition over a 7 week period and I won! I went on to compete at the New York State Fair and placed 1st in the singing competition! No other singer in New York placed in the top ten. I was so pumped. Most recently, I received a call back for Amercian Idol as a Silver Ticket winner and auditioned in NYC in front of their executive producers. Again, they really liked my voice,, loved my talent and said to keep performing and to come back and that I’m so close. I am close and I’m ready to go to the next level and show America what I can do and I want them to see my heart through my voice! I’d love to show MTV what I have and share my story with others! Most recently our house suffered a direct hit from a tornado in Lowman NY. It literally formed in our back yard and our area was considered a disaster area. By growing up I started singing at church and school contest in Haiti. On August 01-2006, I survived from an open heart surgery with two valves replace and put me on blood thinner med for the rest of my life. Six years after which is on August 23-2012 I died from a brain stroke surgery, put me on a coma. By the grace of the savior im a live today.in general’ I survived from four times stroke on my right side of my body.im not in a wheelchair I’m still waiting for my day to come to see my dream come true in America. I don’t have any booking agents because of unable to pay. Im homeless for many years in America because of my disability. I love singing and acting. I have experience from acting classes, musicals, skits, and i do/did a lot of sports like basketball, cheerleading, gymnastics, dance, volleyball, and flag rugby. Ive also auditioned for The Next Star (singing show). Ive been in a musical at my school of Annie and I was an Orphan and also part of the chore and dancer for 3 numbers. I was also in Willy Wonka Jr and i played Violet the Gum Chewing girl and i was so very nervous when i was assigned that role but built confidence and became such a new person and it was awesome changing character, opposite of me and got to sing and dance while in character! Being an actress in Disney/Family Channel would be beyond what i have dreamed of, even just a little extra part i would be the most happiest! Singing has always been one of my favorite things to do ever since I was real little. I have never taken any classes, but many people say I have a natural born voice that deserves to be heard. I not only love to sing but I enjoy playing the guitar. I have only been playing for about a year and a half now but I have learned a lot and still continue to learn something new everyday. To me music isn’t just about the beat of a song or who sings it. To me music is a way to escape from life. If you listen to the meaning behind a song it can help to give you advice in your life. One of my favorite artist is Ed Sheeran. His songs have the ability to tough your heart. They are more than just some song you hear on the radio but to me they have helped me out in life lessons. I can remember at points in my life where I was going through so much and it just felt like the world was against me. I knew that everything happened for a reason but it was driving me crazy not being able to understand why me? What did I do to deserve it? I never really got a straight out answer but I doesn’t matter because in the end I love my life and I am thankful for everyone in it. Music helped me get through all these hard situations. I still to this day before I go to bed listen to music that talks to me. I would love to do the same thing one day for other. To write songs that have a meaning behind them and that they can turn to for help. I am so thankful that all my friends and family love and support me in any decision I make. TamaraI started singing at the age of 2 and performing at the age of 7. Ever since then, I just had the passion and adrenaline to sing. The reason I think, well I know I should be on your show is because out of 84,000 people I was the top 218 to make it to L.A. for The X-Factor USA last year( and its sad to see them go) I got 4 yeses from: Simon Cowell, Demi Lovato, Paulina Rubio, and Kelly Rowland. I just think I deserve a chance because I got very close to getting out there two times (X-Factor USA and NBC The Winner Is…) and there is no turning back.
