John B AskewTurn’s cinematography is compelling. I’m a programmer, 54, ready for a change. I’ve acted in my youth, including weekly comedy skits at my high school. I have no agent, but my kids are grown and I’m on my own looking for something I want for me. If my “glorious hair” tips the balance for me for certain work, I would love that. Don’t ask me to grow my own beard. TV Series production value has risen to the top shelf in the industry, whether due to equipment affordability or cheap travel and location costs, this is awesome entertainment. Samir KhalafDear to Whom It May Concern, My name is Samir Nicola Khalaf. I’m 28 years old from Northern Virginia and have a passion to perform. I have had the dream to act for about 5 years now. Over these past few years I have taken steps to achieve my goals. For starters I have always heard that great actors are involved in Theatre at some point in their career . I figured this would be the first step to achieving my goal. I have taken the Theatre Studies Program at Northern Virginia Community College and I must say it was a great experience. I learned so much and loved every part of it. While attending NOVA I knew my next step was to learn Improv. I then started to do some research online and kept reading about 2nd City Theatre in Chicago. I didn’t have the money to go to Chicago so I did the next best thing, join the DC Improv Comedy Club in our nations capital. I have taken several Improv courses there which I am currently still taking. As of now I’m proud to say I have been a part of 2 films. The first movie I was a background extra for “All In Time” directed by Chris Fetchko and the second I am playing a Knight in William Shakespeare’s “King Lear” directed by Alexander Barnett. Production for King Lear is currently underway.Why should I be a part of Turn? The answer is simple really. I am a great person to be around, full of energy, very personable, positive, reliable, and honest. I will give you 110% every day that I am there. I am a team player who will do anything that is asked of me. It does not matter if I am a background person or a person with a speaking role. Either way I would be honored to be a part of your awesome show. I have several friends who were on some episodes of Turn as well and have heard great things.
