The Gambler Starring Mark Wahlberg

The Gambler Starring Mark Wahlberg

One of the world’s biggest stars is set to lead an all-star cast in an exciting new crime thriller and up and coming actors of all ages will have a shot to be a part of the action. The Gambler starring two-time Oscar nominee Mark Wahlberg will be rolling in front of cameras soon and the producers and casting directors for this highly anticipated feature film event are organizing a series of open casting calls now. Aspiring performers can apply today for their chance at landing a role in what is sure to be Wahlberg’s next worldwide hit.

The Gambler will be a reboot of the cult classic 1974 film  of the same name that starred Academy Award nominee James Caan as a college literature professor whose addiction to gambling affects both his relationship to his girlfriend and family and then leads him to go on the run when debt rises with some very bad men. This thrilling tale of the deep rabbit hole of addiction will be directed by the wildly talented Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The Escapist, Turn) and will feature Wahlberg (The Fighter, Transformers: Age of Extinction, 2 Guns) alongside a who’s who of film acting luminaries including 2 time Oscar winner Jessica Lange (American Horror Story, Tootsie, Blue Sky), Brie Larson (21 Jump Street, United States of Tara, Don Jon), Michael K. Williams (Boardwalk Empire, The Wire, The Incredible Hulk), Leland Orser (ER, Taken, Seven) and the legendary John Goodman (Roseanne, Argo, Monsters, Inc.). This is shaping up to be one of the hottest releases of the new year and an absolutely outstanding opportunity for several talented acting hopefuls.

Casting calls for The Gambler will be taking place very soon for a number of roles and submissions from actors of all ages are being accepted today. 3. Patrick Caldwell

Hey my name’s Patrick Caldwell, I’m 19 from Perth in Western Australia. To put it bluntly, I’ve studied drama for 15 years, mostly stage, and I just feel that TV/movies are for me. I’m young, fresh-faced and ready. I understand the struggles of having little due to living with a man with a brain disorder due to drinking too much when I was 12 and due to that I’ve been exposed to such a high level of legal, political and dramatic battles that no 12 year old should had to of experienced. Through it all though, I’m still smiling, laughing and just enjoying life. I’d say my sense of humour is somewhat ‘taboo’ as I say the first things on my mind (it’s a blessing a curse, believe me). At the same time though I know when it’s time to mess around and time to work. I’m not saying I’m the guy for this movie or that I’ll get you guys an Oscar, what I’m saying is, I can give you reality.
All I ask in return is a chance.

Follow my twitter @rckcldwll11 I won’t let you down.
