My mom and I watch it during the day and save the recordings for my sister’s to watch when they get home from school, it is a real family event at our house. I would like to a part of this amazing story. The chaos, the drama, the love and understanding, the daily changes….but the strong family unit…this is my family every day. Wisdom YarboroughHi, my name is Wisdom Yarborough. I’m 18 years old, and ever since I was very young, I knew that acting was for me. Before I discovered acting, I had nowhere to go and no one to turn to. At school I was picked on and bullied for being different. I had an active imagination and sometimes, I allowed that imagination to run wild, which other children thought was weird. So I was isolated from my peers, and from it, the early seeds of depression were planted. Everyday it felt like I was putting on a mask, having to act normal, just to fit in. And it made me unhappy. But the first time I ever did a play, I got to do something that I never thought I’d ever be able to do; I got to be myself. When I’m on stage, I may become a different persona, but I am not wearing a mask. People tell you to jump out of your comfort zone when you’re in theater, but for me, it never feels like I’m jumping out of my comfort zone, but rather I’m jumping in. The stage is my home. I don’t care if it’s theater, TV and movie, or just voice acting. Acting is my passion, and getting to go out and be myself in the way that I always wanted to be, to be as unique and weird as I’m supposed to be, and for once, have people staring in awe instead of horror or mockery, that is the greatest gift acting has given me. Because when I was alone, and scared, and I felt like I had to hide who I was, it was acting that allowed me to be myself, and be true to the colorful and creative girl I always was.The fosters is a show about love and acceptance, no matter the person. The Fosters has taught so many important lessons, like how you don’t need to be related by blood to have a strong family; how the people who love and cherish you can be closer than your biological parents. How, with all your faults and imperfections, you are still loved and not alone, and that your past doesn’t have to shape who you are. How it’s not wrong to question or find yourself when you’re young, and that people shouldn’t make you feel afraid of who you are. This show has given people so much, myself included, a lot of great lessons and Morales and now I want to be a part of that. I love getting a reaction out of the audience. Whether good or bad, I like making the audience feel something deep in my performance. I give my 110% when I act, because I want to one day be able to create my own stories and shows that will help shape and inspire a new generation of thinkers and will help to create a more open and accepting world, especially to the LGBT community; a community that I am an active supporter and member of. And the first step to that, to that better world, is by showing the audience that I know what it’s like, to be vulnerable, scared, and lost at times, to show them that I’ve been where they are, and through the depths of hell, I pulled myself tooth and nail back up into fighting stance, and refused to fall back down no matter how many time the world tried to push me down again. It would be an honor to come on to the Fosters, and show the world what I have to offer, the messages I want to bring, the smiles (or even the tears) I want to invoke from the audience. Chloë TeicherMy name is chloë. I’m 14 year old living in New York at the time. My mom was an actress growing up and she helps me put my energy towards Acting, singing and dancing. My dad was adopted and was treated great with one of the parents. I understand the emotions of one feeling disconnected and the one feels hopefully I can put all of that into my acting skills. Raquel camposHello my name is Rachel and was wondering if maybe just maybe this could get me closer to my dream. I’m 15 born in LA California, but moved to Houston TX 6…7 years ago. Im 5’9″ or 5’10” at the most. Brown eyes. Long…like very long brown hair. I’ve always wanted to act but I would always think it was a phase so I would push it away but then I realized that my family are the people pushing it away. Recentlyi opened up to them and told them everything I felt about acting and my dream and life. They told me that it was my life so I honestly think that this is my opportunity to break free. My family doesn’t really support my dream or any of the others I’ve had and it upsets me because they’re family but at the end of the day I’m the only one that can make myself happy…even if that means to have to break from my family’s “flock”. I’m willing to work my hardest to make my dream come true. The closest I’ve came to acting is theatre arts class (which I take now in tenth grade). I’m the shyest human being alive but when I act…I know it’s meant for me to do. Acting makes me feel whole…even if it’s onlly for a couples of minutes…I actually feel happy.
