School Of Rock – Nickelodeon

In 2003 the world was won over by the scruffy charm and extensive musical talents of Jack Black and the impressive group of musical prodigies featured in the box office hit School Of Rock and now Nickelodeon is set to transform it’s timeless story into a weekly comedy series and casting calls for a number of different roles for actors, musicians and singers will soon be taking place. This could be an incredible chance for a talented group of aspiring entertainers to show their gifts to millions of fans around the globe in Nick’s next sure to be hit musical comedy series. Auditions are set to take place very soon for this direct-to-series pickup and interested performers can submit themselves today for consideration for all available roles.

Nickelodeon’s School Of Rock will once again focus on the hilarious premise of the film, wherein unemployed wannabe rock star Dewey Finn (played by Black in the film but set to be re-cast for the series) poses as a substitute teacher at a prestigious private school. Woefully unprepared and bored with his new duties, Dewey decides to tap into some of the musical

talent of his students and soon an act where he is the lead singer and guitarist and enters ‘School Of Rock’ into a battle of the bands competition. This outstanding project is based on the Golden Globe nominated movie directed by Richard Linklater (Bad News Bears, Dazed and Confused, Boyhood) and is being brought to the small screen by himself and Academy Award winning mega-producer Scott Rudin (Moneyball, The Social Network, The Truman Show) and will be written by the team of Steve and Jim Armogida (Grounded for Life, Crash & Bernstein, My Family).

I came across these casting pages reminiscing on my life and schoolwork and just had the feelings everyone gets at one or more points in their life. “I want to be famous”… ” I want to be known” … “I want to be a millionaire” but this time instead of going back to studying I decided I might as well try something. “Just fill out a simple application and hope me life changes” is what I told myself. The fact that our life has a degree plan as soon as we exit our mothers womb sickens me a little. of course the 1% got out of it… but we are all raised the same. go to school (which I am currently in college), Obtain a degree in something you like but do not love(computer programming was my option) then live your life as an average and for the most.. repetitive person. I DO NOT want to be average which is the main reason why computer science is my major. second reason is because I just plain like programming (I plan to make apps and such). I can go on and on but I’m going to get straight to the point I see this as a wonderful and fun opportunity to build a career upon. I will admit I do not have ANY experience acting but Danny Porush did not have any experience in stocks before he met Jordan Belfort. With that being said… If given the opportunity It will be a done deal for me to devout all of my effort (would not want to go back to being average Joe).
