ErinThis show makes me laugh a lot and brings back several good memories from my past, and being on this show would be amazing. I’ve recently started working on a couple of short films, and I realized that I could perhaps take my acting to a whole other level. I’m currently 16 years old, 5’6, and 113 pounds. My hair’s naturally brown and it’s pretty long. I’m great in music, and despite the fact that I love to sing, singing is definitely not my strongest point. I used to be pretty shy, but taking a summer acting class a couple years back had made me step outside of my little bubble. I’m now pretty outgoing and can crack a smile on anybody’s face. The thing about being an Actor is not to play the role of the Character, It’s to Become the role of the Character. I have to forget everything and just think only like the role I’m becoming. MannyHey ABC,I look strangely like Jason from Laguna Beach and people tell me it all the time. Along with this, multiple people have told me I look like Dylan from the show. An episode where Alex starts to have a thing for me and doesn’t realize Dylan and I are extremely alike, along with Phil having a man crush on me and Dylan finding out and getting jealous sounds like a riot. Then at the end of the episode, Dylan and I finally see each other and it turns out we’re cousins. It’s discovered Dylan has a unique family just like the Dunphy’s. Just a thought. I try to say that I really know what I’m saying, but it’s just funnier to sound like I don’t.I’ve always had a strong desire to turn acting into a career but was strongly influenced by my family not to pursue it because it is an unstable career. But after trying other types of careers I’ve found that my dry humor will probably cause problems for me, making any other career unstable.I’ve always looked for opportunities at school for some sort of comedic relief role but the musicals that were chosen never needed a strong actor for the part so they chose the better singers every time.When modern family first aired I didn’t think much of it. I thought it was just going to be any other family/drama show. But after taking the time to watch only one show I became consumed. It showed a family that was almost identical to my family, unfortunately. And it shows other families with abnormal circumstances in a very comically normal light.Other than just loving the show, I’ve found that every episode leaves me sullen because I feel that I could fit into any role that could be needed for a male teenager. Obviously I’m not the one that makes up the characters, but in each episode I can see myself being an adopted teen for the Pritchett or Tucker family, or some sort of teen friend or boyfriend of one of the Dunfey’s.Thank you very much for your time. Kathy CadileHi. This show is amazing. I have to admit I did not watch it from the beginning, think it was opposite something else I watched but my son told me about it so I started to see what he was all excited about. Forget it, I was hooked. Now I watch all the reruns, marathons, every time it is on I’m glued to the TV. This show is so funny and just hysterical. I can see why it has won so many Emmys. My husband and I are retired now and we would love to be extras on the show or by some luck of the draw maybe even have a small part in it. This would be outstanding. We have worked so hard all our lives raising 3 children sometimes working 2 to 3 jobs to support them and now we have the time to enjoy some of the things we said we would do when we moved to California over 20 years ago. Being on this show would be absolutely awesome. I know so many people want to be part of the show and why not, it is such a great show. We have been married 43 years and have 3 children and 3 grandchildren and would make a good set of grandparents if the need for that role came up or also as extras which is what we originally thought of. Fiona FanHi,I’m Fiona Fan, I’m 13 years old (born January 10, 2000), and around 5’4″. Or at least that’s what I think the symbols are. Also, in case it’s not obvious, I’m a girl. I’m Asian Canadian, I was born in Vancouver, Canada, and have lived in Vancouver, Bejing, and Toronto. I can speak fluent English, Mandarin-Chinese, and French, and I know Latin as well. Anyways, I think I should be considered to be a part of the casting call for Modern Family for a few reasons. I’m not going to say that I think I’m definitely 100% the perfect person, since I’m sure that there are many other amazingly talented people. But, I think I would be a great person to be considered, because I have had some acting experience before. I’ve been in numerous school plays, to start with, and also, I was cast as MeiYing, the female lead, in The Karate Kid in 2010. I met up with the casting director, PoPing Auyeung, in Vancouver during spring break. We talked about the upcoming movie, and she came over to my house and videotaped my audition. After 2 months, she told me that it was decided for me to play MeiYing, except I was required to give up my Canadian passport and get a Chinese passport instead. My family and I decided that it would’ve been better to save my Canadian passport, so they had to find someone else. I really love acting, and although it’s a little embarrassing to admit, I always repeat lines that people in shows say in front of a mirror, just for fun. A few actors/actresses I admire are Adam Sandler, Lindsey Lohan, and Jonah Hill, and some of my favourite shows/movies are Pretty Little Liars, Modern Family, and 21 Jump Street. I also watch a lot of TSN, since I’m a professional figure skater. Last year, I placed third in the entire “state” of Ontario, and seventh at Nationals. So currently, I am seventh place in the whole country of Canada, competing against 200 people against female skaters ranging from 10-18 years old. I don’t want to sound like I’m bragging (well, now that I’m reading it again it kind of seems like I am) but figure skating is a huge accomplishment in my life, and I’m extremely proud of it. Next, I am a great student. In elementary school, getting good grades wasn’t THAT much of a big deal, but recently I’ve been pretty ecstatic to see my grades higher than the average student. To start of, I skipped a grade. The principal at my school then, York House School (ranked top 3 private girl school in Canada) told my mom that I should consider skipping a grade, as my class was too easy. I skipped a grade, and although I am a year younger than all my classmates, I still excel in my subjects. I have all A’s (90+), and now I will attend Crofton House School, which is the “best” all girl school in Canada. In fact, I’ll be starting there in 2 days! Although for my whole life, I have attended either a private school or an international one (basically public, but still classified as private, I think), I have watched way too many TV shows and movies to know what it’s like at a co-ed, non-uniform school. Finally, if I am asked to play a part as a certain person, I would have no problem in doing so. As I stated above, I’m frequently practicing lines, and repeating after actors/actresses while they’re acting. I’m able to act as many different people, while at the same time, knowing exactly who I am on the inside. That sounded really deep, but as you can probably see, or read, I sound really formal and sophisticated right now. Right? That was what I was attempting to go for. But I am different around my friends, around my parents, with my teachers, or with my brother. I always show myself to people I am with, although I may simply act a little different with different people. To be honest, I really don’t care if people judge me, because in the long run, what they’re judging me for isn’t going to affect my future (me being weird and too comfortable around strangers/acquaintances, for example). Anyways, I really tried to seem mature while writing this, even though I don’t think that worked really well. And I’m really proud of myself for not typing “lol” or “haha” at the end of every single sentence. To sum up, I just hope that I will at least be CONSIDERED to be a part of this casting call. I don’t want to seem conceited or extremely cocky, but what other people think about me is that I’m outgoing, funny, and friendly. Basically, I’m just out there, and sometimes that may be a bad thing. But I can speak many different languages, and I really hope that me being Asian won’t be an obstacle for my possible future roles. I am a figure skater, I have had experience with acting, and what really boosted my confidence was getting the role of MeiYing in The Karate Kid 3 years ago. Sorry if this is super long, I totally understand if you don’t think I would be a good part of Modern Family, but I just hope that it isn’t because of my race, or where I live, as many people have told me it would be a barricade. I hope, with all my heart, that I’ll get a reply, but I know there’s a ginormous amount of people in America that have TONS of talent and potential! The perfectly true-to-life script and naturalistic acting of Modern Family is almost like having a second family – albeit a rather madcap, American one! I am often taken aback at just how realistic the show is, whether it’s the precise timing of the exquisite actors or the subtle facial expressions. Modern Family is like an escape from the sometimes monotonous nature of life in a London suburb. The viewer is transported to the world of the Dunphys and Pritchetts.I have always wanted to be an actress. I’ve been in a couple of theatre companies, but my move to boarding school at the age of 13 meant I had to give those up. I regularly perform in school productions. I’m studying drama at GCSE and plan on doing it at A-Level. My current goal is to be accepted into RADA to study for a degree in Acting.
