National Theatre Tour AuditionsJoy Dewing Casting and Troika Entertainment are seeking Los Angeles-based Non-Equity singers and dancers for roles in the national tour of Kinky Boots. Casting directors are holding an open casting call for singers and dancers. Auditions are being held on Monday, August 7th, 2017. Singers will audition at 10:00 am and dancers audition at 2:00 pm. The team is looking for a male in his late 20’s to early 30’s for the role of Charlie Price. They are also looking for an African American male in his 30’s for the role of Lola/Simon. Men are being cast to portray angels and male swings. For the role of Don the team is in need of a Caucasian male in his 30’s and 40’s. An emotionally and physically challenging role requires the body of a boxer, with the soul of a Diva to play this scene-stealing drag performer. Must have a killer voice with power blues and gospel chops. Lola dances in very high heels and so has to move well. This role calls for a STAR. This is the Tony Award Winning role originated by actor Billy Porter.[DON] Male, 30s – 40s, Caucasian. Lola’s nemesis. Burly hyper-masculine bear of a factory worker.[TRISH] Female, 40s, any ethnicity. Factory worker with a husband and kids to worry over.[ANGELS] Males, 20s – 30s, any ethnicity. These are the six drag performers who populate THE BLUE ANGEL NIGHTCLUB. They need to be versatile, but also terrific dancers, singers and actors. This ain’t a job for no wall-flowers.
