Casting Call for Boys Ages 9-13 for Movie in New York

Amazon’s upcoming feature film “Wonderstruck” is now filming in New York City and casting directors are looking for boys to play Boy Scouts. The movie that stars Julianne Moore is in need of boys who are ages 9 to 13 years old.

About “Wonderstruck”

The film will tell the story of a young boy in the Midwest and a young girl in New York simultaneously and how their lives intersect fifty years later. The movie is based on a children’s book. According to Variety, “Wonderstruck” traces the gradually weaving stories, though set 50 years apart, of two deaf children who both wish their lives had been different: Rose dreams of a mysterious actress, Ben of the father he has never known. Their stories will finally intertwine as both children set out on quests to find what they are missing: A family. Wonderstruck is starring Julianne Moore and Michelle Williams.

What They Are Looking For

The casting directors are looking for non-union boys of any ethnicity to play Boy Scouts. They are in need of boys who are ages 9 to 13 years old. The shoot will be taking place on Saturday, June 25th. This will be a night shoot, the start time will most likely be 5pm to 1:30am.

This scene takes place in 1977. Must have some length to their hair. Hair should be shaggy and come over the ears or styled in a kinky or curly afro. No crew cuts, shaved heads, etc.

Dyed & highlighted hair is fine but no bright unnatural colors (blue, pink, purple, green, etc).
