Mia VaughnMy name is Mia, and I am 13 years old. Since I was born I’ve been around music and dancing, but I found acting by myself. I was fascinated that you could transform into a totally different person, one that might not even exist, and go out of character just as easily. I put myself into acting at a young age, around third grade, and haven’t stopped since. I am now in seventh grade and have been in multiple theater productions and workshops. I have taken acting and modeling classes at John Robert Powers in Boston, and have also participated in a film making workshop. I have been in four theater productions with South Coast Children’s Theater, including my upcoming production of Willy Wonka, in which I have the lead. I am familiar with directing and screenplay writing, most of which I did at my school. I go to an independent all-girl private school, so I have an advanced education. Along with my acting experience, I have singing and dancing experience as well. I have taken dancing lessons 11 out of 13 years of my life, and I am a fast learner when it comes to it. Though I am, without a doubt, a way better singer than I am a dancer. My father is a music producer and DJ, so he always has me in his studio behind a microphone. I am also associated with Daniel Watson of Okword Music Group in my local area. I have taken lessons for about 3 years, but also have sessions with my voice coach, Brent Tavares. I also receive lots of support and advice from the members of the old group, the Tavares Brothers. My father was also in a rap group, Joint Ventures, before I was born, so I was raised around that as well. I know that when an upcoming star is put around celebrities, they may not act professional. That is always a concern when you are putting people with no experience next to people that are well known and do have a lot of experience. I can assure you that I do not attack or pester celebrities. I see them as regular people that are doing their job. They may be rich and famous, but they are still human. If you consider me for any part in this upcoming show I will be utterly grateful.
