At school, I get good enough grades but I feel like I want to break through my barrier of being controlled and being told what to do. I have always loved acting, dancing and singing. Debbie ArnoldHello my name is Debbie and I have a beautiful little 8year old soon to be nine. Her name is Alexis. She has been doing dance since she was 3. She has sky blue eyes and long brown hair. This probably doesn’t matter but she has been in pageants since she was months old. Just wanted to let you know this because by doing these pageants has given her the chance to be very confident in herself. She is a straight A student and she reads on 6th grade level and just finished 2nd grade. She is so out going and she is bound and determined to be an actor. She recently won a full paid scholarship to The Performing Option in New York for musical theatre in which she will be attending July 10-23 2013. She has been involved in so many things to much to mention. She dreams of being an actor. As her parents we will do all that we can to assist her in doing this. Again, Alexis is very outgoing and she never gets nervous about being on stage. In which she has been on stage numerous times (excluding pageants) . She has modeled on one of our local TV shows here in Kingsport, Tn. She has the patience of Job so to speak. She modeled for Justice Clothing Store as a manikin for 3 hours with 3 changes of clothes and 2 6 min breaks and not once did she complain. We are very proud of her. Veronica LoweI believe I should get a shot, because girls who are “average sized” or “curvy” aren’t represented well in children’s shows. I remember watching something with my nieces and there was an anorexia joke made to the effect of, “Oh I don’t have time to eat, I only have time for looking good.” I think more body types should be presented to children and people in general so that they know looks aren’t the only thing they are good for. They can be any shape or size, gender, nationality, anything and still be beautiful and have value for being themselves and not just because they are nice to look at.
