Lydia VanDerKampI am so greatful to ABC for making dreams come true. This is a wonderful opportunity, and I appreciate it. Everyone dreams of something. Even as a young child, I knew I was different. I watched Shirley Temple and desired to be like her–a triple threat. Singing is second nature to me. I enrolled in dance at age 4 and continued for 11 years. Then, in 7th grade I got my shot at the stage, and I grew to love it. In high school, I was the lead in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella.” Being on stage helps me come alive. It is second nature to me. In my later years, as I went through college and grad school, I veered more to my musical side and continued being on the stage through singing and playing the piano. I loved it. I would love to be on a show like Nashville that showcases all of my talents. However, I also adore “Once Upon a Time.” Who doesn’t love a classic? And, if you ask anyone that knows me well, they will tell you how much I love “old stuff.” I love vintage clothing and period clothing, and I loved being apart of madrigals and being in a different world and being a person you would never be in real life. I really understood myself when I played the character Bonnie in “Anything Goes.” I talked in a shrill, outlandish voice, something I never even knew I could do until I tried. I also know a good plot when I see one. I have a B.A. in English, and one of the best story lines I have ever seen, no hurt to ABC, is Mad Men. It has a storyline that keeps you begging for more. “Once Upon a Time” also does this for me, and honestly, I haven’t seen this in a good while. I also love watching characters like Carol Burnett and Lucille Ball, as they paved the way for women not only as actresses but as comedians as well. Again, I really appreciate this and hope you consider me, as growing up in a middle class family means nothing is free and there are no connections. Amber ParkinHi! I’m 15, and 3/4 important of course.. My name is Amber. I will say this now as I do not want to waste your time, I live in the UK. I have always loved performing and acting, I insist on singing in the shower even though it does sound like a cat. I love acting in particular because of the affect on an audience you can have! For example I am aware when watching that programmes like, ‘once upon a time’ are not real but for that hour you feel drawn in inexplicably it does feel like you could be in the middle of it. Characters can have an amazing affect on people, Lana Parilla never fails to make me cry and the same with Rumplestiltskin and Belle. These actors/actresses help people to be engrossed in something that isn’t their everyday boring life but have the skill to draw you into this beautiful fantasy world, who wouldn’t want to live in Storeybrooke or the Enchanted Forest. I would love to act to have this same affect on people to make people laugh, to cry and everything in-between. I am also experienced in modelling. I’m 5’3, and I get the most compliments about my eyes. Obviously I live in the UK so this whole thing is very unlikely but things so far have always taught me to try! I study both drama and film studies currently as well as other subjects, though I study drama, which is mostly theatre acting, I have always loved the subtleness of acting on screen every move can be seen however with theatre everything has to be overexhaggerated and do not notice small differences that can be shown to an audience through a tv. Natalie HuMy name is Natalie Hu and I am from Los. Altos California, which is in the Bay Area. If I had to choose a show to be on, I would pick once upon a time because I love fantasy. Honestly I don’t have a lot of eperience, but through this I hope to learn a lot about the industry of acting. Oh yeah and I am only 11! You may not pick me because of my lack of age, but that doesn’t stop me. There is a sang to never work wig children and animal, but u want to change that. I want this so badly, and ever scince I was born, my dad would always taper with his camcorder and I grew up being in front of the camra. When I grow up, my parents, being a typical Asian, want me to be a doctor, but scone the age of FIVE, I knew I wanted to have a job that has to do with film. If I get in, I will probably be the youngest contestant, but I any to learn from the best, and professional actors. I want this bad. I have a lot of confidence that I will do well in the competition, but there is a small amount of confidence that I will get picked. I decided to sigh up because this competition I looking for fresh faces, and from my knowledge of the industry, I know that it takes a lot of work, time, money, and other things, just to get the slightest role in something. LeticiaI’m only 13 and I love Once Upon A Time. I have a huge imagination and I see life as a movie/show. I love thinking of new things that will challenge me to be a better person. I am uncertain of what I want to be in life but I don’t want to grow up and let go of my wild imagination. Since I am so young there could be some positives and negatives.
