Also, Robert Shaw’s performance as “Quint” in “Jaws” was the starting point for my focus in acting and realistic performance and portrayal. Over the years I have been handed a strong deal of pain and adventure. A year ago, this month, my best friend and neighbor, Michael B., passed away tragically from an incident that took place in his own backyard. I made a promise to him that wherever I went in life, I would always take him with me. Now that he is physically gone, I want to go as far as I possibly can in life, to take Michael with me, and spread his message. This particular incident is the biggest drive behind my life. It has allowed me to put myself in other people’s shoes, and truly experience a full deal of emotions, first hand. This experience, I believe makes me a particularly good candidate. Rob DiNannoMy name is Rob DiNanno, I am from a small town just outside of Boston, and I am 18 years old this month. I have much more life experience than most people my age, and I believe it has helped me to understand how to put myself in other people’s shoes. A year ago, June 7, my best friend and ‘brother’, Michael B., was in a horrible accident at his own home. He is also my neighbor. June 11, 2011, Michael passed away. Growing up, I have always enjoyed watching and dissecting movies, especially any production of Steven Spielberg. It has been a dream of mine to be in a Spielberg action film, ever since I saw “Raiders of the Lost Ark”, as a five year-old boy. I have been well experienced in real world situations, and film industry projects. As a high school student, I enrolled in four years of a video production course, ranked highest in the country. I have a lot of hands-on experience in acting, and technically composing motion pictures, professionally. On a side note, I am a member of a band, currently preparing for a big push, “Silhouette Rising”. We have been played on several radio stations around the country, and are about to settle a record deal. I believe that this is a great opportunity for me, because I have a true passion for filmmaking, a strong work ethic, and a mature, yet child-like personality. A huge part of this opportunity, for me, is to also help spread the incredible story of my best friend. At the age of just 14, he had his whole life planned out. He wanted to save lives, being a pediatric cardiologist. There is currently a program being built under his name, at Children’s Hospital of Boston.
