I’ve always struggle in life and felt by myself . Not having support from my mom or dad toward my music career I used that to keep me pushing. I knew that singing in school talent shows, being apart of any singing functions would get me close to fulfilling my dreams. God was my only way. I started a gospel group with my cousin. We would sing around town. The group was called “seeds of grace”. My uncle was our manager. But the group split and I was left by myself. I decided to write songs and was offer to sing for up coming rap artist and do there hooks. I then decided to write music and record music and placed it on myspace. I noticed I had good feed back. So I then decided to sing other peoples songs and place them on youtube. when my baby girl was 2 months I audition for the tv show laurienne gibson project and made it to the second round, God showed me that it wasn’t my time yet. few months later I was cast in Nelly, Ti and 2 chainz video COUNtry A N for a cameo and a dance scene. I love dance but god has given me the gift to do both and to become an opening act will also allow me to show my daughter it’s never to late to dream. Kandice has the most raw and undeniable talent of anyone I have ever had the priveledge of knowing. LindyWell first off, my favorite thing to do is sing! 2nd, my biggest fear is to sing. When i am alone i sing to myself or sing cover songs, but stop as soon as someone enters the room. I would love to build up a confidence but dont know if i can unless i unleash myself and let others hear me. In my heart i believe i have the potential, but around people i feel as though ill never have the guts or talent to express myself. I am 17 years old and like many other applicants I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t singing.I have been writitng many new songs the past few months inspirired by my mothers curernt stuggle with breast cancer, and many other songs that are about my basic experiences being a teenager.I love the blues, and many other types andgenres, including rock and pop. I have been performing locally in Northern Nevada for several years. I have participated in fundraising events, such has Kids and Horses Minden Nevada, Northern Nevada Sierra Star Search, Relay for Life, Reno Alzheimers Research, Cystinosis Research Foundation of Southern California, The National Anthem for the 2011 Jr. Natl’ Womens’ Golf Tournament,and also, invited to Sing The National Anthem for 550 troops returning from Iraq, National Anthem at the Carson Valley Magiko Event, Starbound Vocal Competition, and Spotlight Vocal competition in Reno Nevada, Magic on the Mic Reno Nevada Freight House. My most recent success was this past November 2011, I put together, organized and promoted a fundraiser for The World Food Program where myself along with eight other performers helped to raise awareness and money for those struggling from the drought in Africa. Comma Coffee was generous enough to host the event! I often sing at local mics here in Reno, Carson City ,Minden and my favorite spot, The Red Dog Saloon in Virgina City. I recorded my first demo Cd in 2008, and just finished my new EP this spring, with my original music,recorded in San Francisco at Broken Radio Recording Studio. Love to sing, and write! When I could not express words the notes floated of my tongue. At the age of 20 yrs old i survived cancer, got an opportunity to graduate with a Mechanical Engineering degree and 4 yrs later, I am cancer free and a full time engineer. The instant my family new I was healing, was the instant they heard me try and sing….To sing is to uplift and to encourage.
