  4. Taheerah Naylor

HI.. My name is Taheerah I’m a 23 years old.. Music is a passion for me.. Music has been an important part of my life for as long as I could remember. Since i was 2 according to my mother. Lol It helped make sense of the harddships in life I endured. Made the world not so cold.. I could listen to Donny Hathaway, Amy Winehouse, Whitney Houston and they sung how I felt. My joy. They knew my pain, they understood my dismay.. I wasnt alone.. I want to give that back to someone that might share my story.. Which is to much to add here LOL I’ve found myself questioning my talent as of late due to now being a single mother and the complexaty of breaking out and getting affordable vocal training were I’m from. I mean it would be pretty kool to follow the amazing career of the late great Whitney Houston..

  5. Sha'Rita Williams

When Whitney passed and I learned that she didn’t come out with her first album until age 24, I really began to think that maybe its not too late. Then one of my fav artist of all time joins forces with a singing competion. I would love to be mentored by such a powerful songstress. Yes, I would be so grateful and love to. This would be my first time every singing in any type of competition. I would love to do it with you guys. I know I can bring it, I sing that’s what I do, and that is why I believe I should be considered to be apart of this competition. Thank you Rita

  6. Sha'Rita Williams

Hello: E Network, Nigel and my girl Mary J Blige. My name is Sha’ Rita Williams and I love to sing. Every since I could remember I could sing. I was in my church choir, devotional leader, and even made songs out of sentences I would in books when I was a little girl. I always watched competitions and would want to go and try out, but my fear of all the ppl and being told “no I’m not good enough” held me back. Lately pursuing my God given talent has really been on my heart, as if to tell me It’s My Time. On top of that I’ve been writing even more and I’m much better now then when I used to write songs about reading my school books and doing my math.

I would cherish this experience mainly because I’ve been supported by everyone except for my mother to lift my voice and songwrite on melodies I think up everyday. But I am determined to show her I can make a future in the music industry and make it a stable career for myself.

  15. Joe Huckabee

Thank You Soooo much for this show. It’s about time that there is a legitimate show that bands and not just vocalists have a chance. My 2 sons are the founding members of their band “SUNSET CANNONS” right here in L.A. They have been gigging together since they were 10 and 13 (7 years now). Myself being a musician for the the last 30+ years, I am their biggest fan and toughest critic. My oldest son plays lead guitar and vocals and my younger son is drums and vocals. Their songs are catchy with great hooks and their live show is high energy. I believe that their sound and energy are absolutely infectious and just need the right exposure.
Thank you for your time and consideration,

    Sincerely,
    Joe Huckabee

  16. Lisa Johnson

I have been singing ever since I could talk. Please consider me for this once in a lifetime opportunity. I would never work harder for anything else, it would mean the world to me.

  18. Cynthia Vanessa

I would really love to bring the attention on anyone reading this post to please consider hearing the talent of KIDD WES. He is a 24 year old male, born in Houston, TX, now residing in Sunny Miami, FL. I am so excited to see there are shows coming up like this to bring thousands of artists the opportunity to shine. Kidd Wes, has been a hip hop artist since his middle school years. I see the hard work he puts day in and day out and it is crazy how he will NOT give up no matter the road blocks that come his way. I have seen people walk in and out on him and phantoms me how no matter the circumstances he knows there will be better days. It will be a blessing to consider him. Kidd Wes soon would like to drop a new mix-tape and we hope you give him this opportunity to shine. #youngworld! Thank you for your consideration! Many blessings

  19. Tyreika Renee'

I am a R&B solo artist , who have been singing since the age of 5. I have been pursuing my singing career for the last 7 years. Singing is my life! I wake up in the morning and go to bed with music on mind. I’m not just a singer, but a songwriter and performer as well, and that’s what makes me an “Artist”.

I’ve performed at several events and when I’m on stage, nothing else matters! I refuse to give up on my dreams and aspirations, in which I know someday will become a reality.

  20. Mary Ann Cooper

I was singing before I even knew how to talk. Music has been my passion, my inspiration, and my outlet for so many years. Though I’ve had wonderful opportunities to perform songs at recitals, churches, and coffee shops, I cannot even begin to imagine what an opportunity like this could mean for my career as a musician! I love folk music, and I have a very jazzy voice — or so I’ve been told. I feel I should be considered for this, because I am extremely dedicated to doing everything I can to make the most of the gift I’ve been given: music. I taught myself how to play guitar when I was fourteen, and I’ve been writing songs since I was sixteen. Now nineteen years old, I have written about twenty songs, and I try my best to capitalize on every opportunity I am given to share them with people. Coming from a small town in Alabama, however, such opportunities are difficult to come by. Having the opportunity to be on this show would open so many doors for me and my music, and I truly hope I will be considered!

  24. Kamry Leigh Uhazie

I tried out for idol last year and was rejected by Nigel (HIMSELF). He said he thought I needed a little more experience in front of a crowd. I should have but didn’t tell him that I’ve been singing and dancing in front of hundreds and at times a couple of thousand people. I opened for Joe Diffie years ago and many local bands (Poverty Neck Hillbillies, NOMAD, etc.). I’ve written several songs and would love, love, love to open for ANYONE. I love all kinds of music and would feel comfortable singing any type. I just feel I’m destined to perform my love which is singing (but I can also dance (my fav is jazz and hip hop). You can see me by Youtubing Kamry Uhazie where I performed songs written by Walter Shrum (a family friend). These were done when I was ten and since then the money has run out for making videos and recording but I am still writing and singing. Won’t you please give me a chance and have one of your producers listen to my singing. Nigel – I’d love to meet you again. When the word at Idol tryouts in Pittsburgh got out that you were there I got so excited because I loved watching So You Think You Can Dance, Idol, and all the other make or break shows. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

  25. Azusa Dance

I would love the opportunity to share and showcase my talent, but also learn how to be a better person and performer. I have enjoyed some opportunities locally and would love to have a chance to do some phenomenal work elsewhere with some professionals in the industry. Most importantly, I enjoy singing and performing for it is fun and an extension of who I am. This would be another fun way to learn more and understand, from others that enjoy what they do and touch so many people.

  28. Paige White

My name is Paige & I’m 18. I’m a small town musician with the dream to make it big. I grew up performing, because it’s what I love. I’ve always been my own person, even though I didn’t show it at first. It took me till my 7th grade year to finally show who I was. That was the year of 2006, when my life changed. If none of you know, that’s when Hannah Montana came out. At first, I didn’t really want to watch the show until my cousin convinced me. I then watched the pilot & right then & there, it was just something about Miley that really stuck to me. I got really picked on for being a Hannah Montana fan for the rest of Jr. High, but nothing stopped me. When I started putting my music up on the internet, I started getting badly cyber bullied. I had people every day telling me to go kill myself. It ended up in a really bad depression, to the point where I got really suicidal. The only person I felt like I had was Miley. Everything about her, no matter what it was, made me feel better about myself. She was the only one to put a smile on my face. I just finished my senior year of high school & I am much better. I got my wrist tattooed with Miley’s signature. It’s something to look at when I’m feeling down, when I may feel the urge to cut, or even when I’m playing the guitar. It makes me happy & it has a lot of meaning to me. To this day, I’ve improved a lot on my voice from when I started. People say I improve every time I post a video. My biggest dream is to not only meet & thank Miley for what she’s done, but to sing with her or even open up for her, would be the biggest honor of my life. I hope to one day get that chance.

  36. Jenny Muleka

Born Jenny Engai Muleka, i’m 17 years old born April 9th 1995. Growing up, I was always ahead of my time and constantly “going against the grain.” My godmother, Lisa, Marr has a tremendous influence on me spiritually, which is why I plan on succeeding in everything I do because of her great teachings — and as a reminder to stay grounded in my faith within God I amend to my prayers. My Mother has always taught me to challenge myself, be well-rounded and balanced, and to be the best at whatever I set out to do (even rapping). I currently resides in Seattle, WA, but I make home where my family is which is in Congo central Africa, and by family that includes my parents, sisters, brother, friends and my fans – who are making my dreams a reality. My music reflects on my own life experiences and it expresses me & my dreams alongside my life music is really the only thing that truly defines me, I love what I do (Rapping) because when I am rapping I just feel invisible at times and I love every ounce of being on the mic, I take my talent as wonderful gift not to many people have, I see it as my way throughout my family struggles and hard times. I know I’m not best & that there will always be better but I hold a high state of mind that pushes me to do better and become better not only on the mic but towards my peers, once again I love Rap & being that I’m still young I want to take every opportunity there is on becoming “the best youngest teen female rapper” out!! Because not only isn’t there enough female rappers out there being recognized, there isn’t any teen ones. So why not take podium on being first, everything is possible when u have faith & big dreams. So my prayer is that I won’t be judged for my lyrics, but for the expression of my talent and vision that spans far beyond my years, and hopefully with this opportunity I hope to get music out there perform to the world and receive the chance and opportunity to be mentored by an Artist such as Nicki Minaj it would be like a dream come true and everything a girl with big dreams could ever wish for, I LOVE her music.

  37. Erica (E')

Hello Nigel, Mary J. Blige and all respective members,
My name is Erica, soloist with a female group called SULTRI, in the Washington, DC area. As long as I can remember, being a soloist and song-writer has been a passion of mine, but with life comes unforeseen hiccups. I am a single mom, with immeasurable dreams for me and my daughter’s, and with my dreams being fore-filled, so may theirs. For the past 10yrs time nor opportunity has presented themselves, in a way that my dream to become a national recording artist, has come true. My story of struggle, fear, love, hurt and pain, await the ears and opportunity, of hundreds to continue to be encouraged and uplifted thru my passion.
It would be an unbelievable opportunity, to be mentored by one of the best in the business, Mary J. Blige, if you’d have me. Just a little sample of what I have copy written:
“…….I will let u go, explore the places u know of and if you loose your way and stray….”
    -KatFactory-

With great energy and chemistry on stage, we have been able to create a big fan base and following, and we get great feedback at our shows from people.
I am influenced by singers and musicians like Johnny Cash, Miranda Lambert, Brad Paisley and Elvis Presley. I have worked hard to develop my talents and play the piano, guitar, fiddle and mandolin. I sing original songs I write and also cover songs.
I have been to Nashville several times for vocal classes, music critiques, and have sang some of my original songs at the Bluebird Café. In 2011 I was a semi-finalist in a songwriting contest by the Dallas Songwriters Association in Texas.
I have tried to get my band to open for big name acts at local county fairs and other venues, but find it is really difficult because many times they bring their own opening act or their record label won’t allow another band to set up and disturb the equipment already on stage, so I feel this opportunity is what I have been working towards my whole life and I feel I am ready to move on to that level in the music industry.
My dream opening act would be for Brad Paisley or Jason Aldean but I love all kinds of music genres. I would love the opportunity to be involved with your new show. Thank you very much.

  52. L Frost

L Frost … Singer, Rapper, Dancer, Songwriter, Choreographer, Performer … E!’s Opening Act!

He has humbly taken the industry by storm. Having worked with artists like Ginuwine, Chris Brown, Darrin Henson, and Usher; winning the 2011 Monsters of Hip Hop Freestyle competition; his photo graces the Merriam-Webster Dictionary’s top ten list as the representation of Hip Hop and the Paper Jamz Microphone Pro Series toy; posted on billboards across the nation for Step Up 3D; and priding himself on being a positive role model, with his “No Alcohol, No Smoking,” image… L Frost is a force that can’t be stopped and being on this show would be the beginning of an amazing musical career for him!

  53. Catie Waters

Hi, I am a Latin American Jazz Artist that would love a chance/opportunity to be mentored by Mary J. Blige. I love her soulful music!

I love jazz music with everything in me. I am a jazz artist because I feel the words and music are meaningful and speak to the soul. I am very interested in history, civil rights, and being a positive light/influence to others. I connected with jazz at a very early age because I could identify with the artists/musicians that experienced trial, tribulation, and adversity. Music helped me get through some tough times and I will forever love it! Music is a powerful inspiration tool that can build bridges, instill healing, and change lives.

My dream is to see jazz return to the forefront of the music world. My original work has R&B and hip hop/groove undertones. I love soulful music!

    All my best,

    ♫Catie

  54. Jay Michael Smith

Hi, my name is Jay Michael Smith. I am an aspiring Rap/Hip Hop/ R&B artist. But I want to take myself to the next level. I want to enter this competition as a rookie, and come out as the music industry’s next big thing. I can sing very well, just not very high notes. I can rap really good and I mainly base them on what i did, am doing, or how i’m feeling and why. I’m a REAL rapper. I wont JUST rap about what I have, but the things that I just said. I’m wanting to enter this competition so I can give my moma and I everything we need and deserve. I’m also doing so I can maybe meet my crush, Zendaya Coleman! But I want this for my mother and me, so PLEASE consider choosing me for this competition. Thanks!

  55. J.D Tharpe

For off, thank you E! for a show like this. As every struggling music group or act knows, it is hard to make it in this industry. You have provided another means of helping those who really love to make music.
With that said, we would very much love to be considered for this show. We are a country/ rock music group based in Los Angeles called the Foothill Billy Band. We have been around a little more than a year and have made a great impact of the country music scene with our music and high energy live preformances. We preform charity events every year for schools, shelters, and non-porfits. we look forward to becoming a potental musical group for your show. Thank you once again.

  56. G William Boyd

Hi, I am an 18 year old rock artist from Dallas, Texas. I play guitar, keyboard, sing and song write. I graduate from high school in 5 days and am currently working my tail off to launch my music career. There are so many avenues out their today for artists to share their music that it is just crazy hard to get yourself noticed. I just keep pursuing my passion of creating great melodic rock music and I have great parents and friends who are all doing all they can to support my efforts. I love to perform live most of all and book as many gigs as I can around Dallas. My shows include covers from the likes of Muddy Waters and Pink Floyd to the current sounds of Oasis, Muse, The White Stripes and my own originals. The one thing I have learned is that to really build my fan base, I need to get to venues where the people are! While playing to small crowds that you bring in yourself is great practice, I want to move it to the next level. I need to make a living and can not imagine doing that any other way. My dream Opening Act would be either Metallica or KoRn. I dream big!

I am continuously looking for opportunities to improve my skills and get the much needed exposure to launch my career. Thanks so much for considering my music.
    ~ G

Foothill Billy Band is a currently gigging, unsigned Country/Rock/Blues band from San Gabriel Valley. We’ve got shows scheduled at Viper Room, Whiskey-A-Go-Go and Hard Rock Cafe Citywalk in May and June. We’ve been featured on callywoodmusic.com and are being played on an indie station in Charleston, South Carolina. Last summer we recorded and released our first self produced single called “If You Couldn’t Say Goodbye”. During the the months of July, August and September of 2011, we donated all proceeds from the sales of that single to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Foothill Billy Band would love to give our best shot at being considered for “Opening Act” on E!

  62. Josh Holiday

This competition sounds like a miracle waiting to happen! Drake is one of my favorite artists. Part of my purpose in life is to allow God to use my soulful voice as a white guy to help bring people together.

  63. Eddie Carver

Need to check out Nick Carver of The Nick Carver Band. He has videos on you tube. He was just picked out of thousands to be viewed by Lionel Ritchie for the show Duets, before Lionel dropped out of the show. Nick won the 2011 national rising star for Gigmaster as the #1 wedding band and #1 cover band. His band also was invited to play at the CMA music fest last year. He would be a great opener for Jason Aldean or Brad Paisley.

  64. Nick Carver

I have been singing and performing since the age of 10 and now have built up my band to be the number 1 booked band nationally for Gigmasters. I would like to further my career as a number 1 recording Nashville artist. If I could open for Brad Paisley or Jason Aldean, this would give me exposure to show my talent.

If your looking for something real and if you love the sound of passion in an artist, Ryan Scott has been making his way to the stage. Ryan is a rap hip hop artist from Michigan who is currently producing his new upcoming mixtape “CrossRoad” to drop this early this summer.

Ryan Scott has something to tell his fans, “To be somebody somewhere, is what this is all abou. 69. Leslie Hanson

Hello! My name is Leslie Hanson and I would be so honored to be considered to audition for the upcoming reality show “Opening Act”. I have been singing since I muttered the chorus of the traditional hymn, Amazing Grace, at the early age of 2. I grew up in metro Atlanta, Georgia – loving music, dressing up in big-collared shirts and embellished velvet capes (sewn by my great aunt Frankie) pretending to be Elvis, as I performed impromptu mini concert for my grandparents on Sunday afternoons. In my late teen years, my great uncle had a cover band in the Atlanta area called “Ruby Red”, and he would let me sing with them from time to time. It was my dream – ……………MY ULTIMATE DREAM. In my late 20s, I scoured local papers and ads for female vocalists – any band that may be looking for a singer. Fortunately, I found a couple of variety bands that I’ve been singing with for years. Both are wedding/party bands – one is 70s disco/funk; the other oldies/classic rock/jazz. This has satisfied my desire for many years, and has given me the beautiful gift of “experience”, but I am now looking for the next step. I know that my potential is infinite if I can just get in front of the right people. God gave me a voice and I want the world to hear it! I am confident that my personality and vocal ability will make for a great candidate for your competition, and I would appreciate any consideration. Thank you!

  70. Justin van Sant

First of all, when it comes to country music, I can sing. More importantly, I am a good person with a huge heart. I hold doors for ladies, I respect my fiancee, I try not to lie, cheat or steal. I try and live every day like I am thankful to have it. I deserve a shot because the good guys CAN finish first!

  71. Ajo

    Like Lauryn Hill? Rihanna?
    Caribbean-inflected R&B meets Hip Hop

  72. Maya Perez

Born to perform is an understatement when describing 11 year old aspiring singer, Maya Perez. Maya eats, sleeps and breathes singing and dancing. Her future goals and dreams include entertaining at live concerts and broadway productions.

  73. Carl Jacob Bring

I feel I have the commitment, talent, passion and most of all substance to have America and the rest of the world on there feet cheering as I thrill em with a lil bit of country Rock N’ Roll!

  74. Lauren Funk

My name is Lauren Funk, I am nineteen years old and I am from Ottawa, Illinois. I should be considered for Opening Act because i love singing, writing, and performing country music. I have been singing since i was eleven and I also play guitar. My ultimate dream is to be a country recording artist and to someday play at the Grande Ole Opry. Brad Paisley is one of my heroes, he is the reason I started playing the guitar. It would be an honor to open for him, play in front of thousands of people every night, and learn about the business from such a talented artist.

  75. Sherrice Richards

I’m so excited about this new show. I’ve been singing and playing drums in church since I was 8yr old. But until recently, I never took my voice seriously. I always just loved to sing for the honor and glory of God only. I’ve been hiding behind the choir and running from my calling for so long that I when people would give me complements I would just blush them off. I never took anyone’s feedback serious at all.

Last year I was accented into Full Sail University in to the Recording Arts degree program, and I started this school not knowing that it would bring me back to my first love…Singing! Since I’ve started Full Sail, I’ve seeing so much growth and maturity and improvement in myself and in my voice. I’ve been opening up more and more and applying the feedback. I just want to sing now more then I ever did as a little girl in church.

I would be honored to make it on this new show. Even if I don’t make it far at all, just for a chance to audition is blessing all by itself. I’m so shy and afraid of what people think of me and my voice. But I believe that God blessed me to be a blessing to others, who am I to not use my gifts.

I hope you find favor in me and I pray God bless everything and everyone involved with this new show.
    Muah…God Bless!
