Hello my name is Julie, I live in Seal Beach California, I am 47 and I’ve been singing all of my life. I started singing at home with my family and it has always been my passion. Both my parents were musically inclined and they taught me and my sisters a great deal about many genres of music and a lot about the history of music. In my home you would be as likely to hear Mozart as you would be to hear Marvin Gaye, Santana, or Trini Lopez…and of course Elvis. My father wanted to be sure that we knew all about great music. As a result, my taste in music is very broad and I am able to produce a lot of different sounds in my voice. I sang in choir for a long time and sang many solos. In my 20′s and 30′s I sang opera professionally, but I really enjoy singing jazz and blues more.
Some years ago, I decided to put music on hold because I really wanted to have children. I have two beautiful girls now (ages 10 and 12) and I have taught them to sing and enjoy music as much as I do. I frequently used music to help my children and I get through the hard times when I was a single mom raising them on my own. Instead of focusing on negatives, I would teach them songs and we would sing them together for fun. At this time, I would like to inspire my children to pursue their gifts and would also love to be able to show them that music is something they can do throughout life. The artist in me is alive and well and I have had many thoughts over the past few years of performing again. I truly miss it. This time, I would like to identify what kind of music is best for me. I can sing many things, but I would like to know if there is one kind of music that is better than another in my voice. I may need some objective/subjective input on that.

Hi! This request for an audition is not for myself, but my daughter, Christina Peterson. Christina doesn’t know I am submitting this. The reason why I am replying to this instead of her is because she is very humble. She does not brag on herself or tell people how “great” she sings or plays. So I will.
When you hear Christina sing, there is a beautiful and unique quality about her voice that you notice right away. It is powerful and soothing at the same time. She has perfect pitch and can jump in and sing harmony to any song she hears. She has a God-given musical talent.
She has been singing since she could talk. At age 15 she asked for an acoustic guitar for Christmas. She practiced for hours a day and taught herself to play. She has also taught herself the piano and currently working on the violin. She has won talent contests. Christina has also written many original songs that are quite good.
Christina has been the Worship Leader at our church for the last 2 1/2 years. She plays and sings in the local youth bands as well.
So you see, not only does Christina have the natural ability, she also has experience on stage.
I believe God put her on this earth with this musical talent to be heard and I’ll tell you why, Christina was born to my husband and I against all odds because the doctors said that Ron and I couldn’t have children. Without the aid of any medical intervention what-so-ever she was born.
Christina was born with hearing problems that we weren’t aware of until her early teen years. She has been losing her hearing slowly since birth but can still hear perfectly now with the use of hearing aids. Surgery is not a good option for her right now but maybe someday.
Please consider my daughter because it would be a shame to let this very gifted young women get away.

My name is Felix but, I go by my nickname “Feel”. I’m 42, raised and reared in the South Bronx, an only child of my parents, and a Veteran of two tours of Iraq. They way I acquired my name was based on how people would absorb my emotions through song. I truly feel that my best form of expression has been through my singing ability.
As a child I was sickly and my Mom always had a deep rooted belief in healing through prayer and promise. I remember her always asking of God to heal me and that once I was healed, I would sing in his name and express myself through this gift. I’ve kept that promise till this very day. I won’t claim that I’m awesome or the greatest person to ever perform. However, I do wish to have the opportunity to share my talent and improve it with the proper coaching.
Do I wish to make it big as a singer? I most certainly do but, I want it as the blessing that I deserve to give back to my Mom. She did it all to ensure my health and well being and I want to give her something back. I would just love the idea of developing songs that express my ideals, visions, and compassion. My son, Derek Walton is a 16 year old vocal music major and dance minor at the Philadelphia High School for Creative and Perfomring Arts in Philadelphia. Derek has an amazing voice….he is compared to the likes of Otis Reading, John Legend and David Ruffin. He is a member of the All City Chior, Concert Choir, which travels for school and sings for dignitaries visiting Philadelphia. He has had lead roles in “13″ the musical and Les Miserable, both of which are broadway musicals performed at his school.

Often described as the little girl with the big voice, 21 year old Dani Atkinson explains, “I wasn’t like most kids, I was more serious, old for my age. I was fair and protective. I listened, took everything in. Quiet, but not shy. I was lucky, didn’t have to find myself. I always knew who I was, I always knew what I wanted.” Growing up admiring the voices of Elvis Presley, Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, and Heart, Dani was always waiting for it to be her turn. Realizing her talents at such a young age, her parents took her to perform at local fairs, festivals, community functions and contests, where she was frequently being approached with further opportunities. At 14, she began writing her first album, “Flying Far Away,” which sparked interest from major record labels. Looking for any opportunity to perform, Dani had also fallen in love with musical theater. She performed in A Chorus Line, Aida, Bye Bye Birdie (Kim McAfee), Peter Pan (Wendy), and Beauty and the Beast (Belle) for which she won the award Best Actress in Dutchess County. This led to her acceptance into her dream school, the prestigious NYU Tisch School of the Arts, where she is pursuing a BFA in Drama. Studying practical aesthetics in David Mamet’s, Atlantic Acting Program, she has trained with Kristen Johnston (3rd Rock from the Sun, The Exes) and vocal coach Wendy Parr. Recently, Dani was voted into America’s Got Talent’s Top 20 Youtube Contest, filmed aBlackberry Commercial, and was cast in a featured role alongside Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts in Elizabeth Bank’s & Steven Brill’s film Red Band, set to be released in January 2013. In November 2011, Dani entered Z100′s Hometown Hero Competition. Finishing in the Top 10, she was awarded an even bigger prize when she was contacted by EvoMusic’s David Andronico & Peter Macchia. The three met and with instant chemistry began writing her next album, “Just Me.” Describing her album as an “awakening,” Dani has written lyrics as a way of getting through times of heart break, reminding her that music is all she needs. Performing showcases around NYC at clubs such as The Iguana, Dani is more than ready to be heard. Currently living in Stormville, New York, Dani is the Star Next Door. As someone once said, “Dani has stardust on her shoulders.”
I have been singing all my life, but just have not gotten that big break. At fifty years of age, I believe NOW is my season for fame! I have been told that I look like Queen Latifah (but since I am the elder, I think she may resemble me). Simply put, I’m ready! Hi! My name is Jervelle I’m 25 yrs old and a native of Trinidad and Tobago but currently lives in charlotte nc.I’ve been singing at the age of 6. I believe everybody was born to different things and I WAS BORN TO SING AND MAKE MUSIC.I believe when you know within your spirit what your destined to do nobody can take that from you and your dream never dies. After dropping out of college and moving to the states to pursue my dreams in becoming R&B/ pop singer, everybody called me crazy except my mother who is now deceased. She believed in me! But somehow life took it turns, after my mom passed I felt defeated, like there was no hope and ended up being in a physical abusive relationship for 5 yrs, my confidence, self esteem, free spirit……it was no longer there. Finally, with the power of prayer I said enough is enough and found the strength to get out of that unhealthy relationship. Yep I DID IT! I think this will be an amazing show and a great opportunity to prove that no matter what situations life brings it’s only you that have the power to change things.

Hi, I’m Taylor, 21. Learning what it really means to be an adult. I’m a singer. I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember. Looking back the thing that I remember most from my childhood was always putting on shows for my family. Getting up on that fireplace like it was my stage and singing my favorite songs for them. I was always told how beautiful of a voice I have. Not just from my family but from my teachers at school and by the time I was in high school most of the students in my choir class said so as well. In beauty school I was often asked to sing a song as the morning warm up for the school and people would actually cheer for me as if they were at a concert. It felt right. Like that’s where I belonged, up on a stage singing. It felt like home.
