  1. James Dean Kostos

Hello, my name is James, my best friend Francesca would be a great candidate for this show. Her vocals are amazing!! Her range and tone would blow you away. I have been pressuring her for a few years now to pursue singing. We have made some friends in the local music scene and even recorded some songs, some of which we have wrote together. She has no idea Im submitting this… haha. I would just hate to see a talent so beautiful wasted. Her voice needs to be heard. Shes 25 years old, talented and beautiful. Would love to hear back, I know she has what it takes to be a super star!

  2. Brooke

I have been singing ever since I can remember. All of my life I’ve dreamed of signing, performing, onstage. Singing runs in my family, and most times, I feel like the underdog. I want to do something and prove/showcase what I can do. I want to prove that you don’t have to be from a big city to live your dream. I want to inspire young girls to follow their dreams and chase after their passions. Singing is my passion. I want to prove to all of the nay-Sayers that I can do whatever it is that I set my mind to. I want to prove all of my bullies wrong. I want to be a role model to younger girls, that’s what I try to do anyway. Most of all, though, I want to sing my heart out and follow my dream. Please consider me to me a part of this amazing opportunity; it would definitely be a blessing.

  3. Michele Blanchflower

Bonjour, my name is Michele Blanchflower and I am 23 years old. Singing is my escape from reality, it brings people together and diminishes pain. There is nothing else I can envision myself doing with my life. My family and I live in a very small town on a farm in Ashburnham, MA. There have been many times of strife and triumph which have caused me to be resilient and built to take on new challenges. Like anything else in life, singing is something that needs to be nurtured and constantly worked on. I believe I have potential to be successful and I would be grateful if I was granted the opportunity to express myself musically. I had put-off my dreams for a long-time so I could go to college and take care of my mother. It would mean everything to me to make her proud. Here is a link to my singing:

I really hope to hear from you,it would be a dream come true.
    Thank you for your consideration.

  4. Jessa

Hi all, my name is Jessa and I am 11 years old. I have been singing since I have been 6 years old. All I ever want to do is sing all day. I started playing guitar this past Christmas 2013. I was in a talent show when I was in 2nd grade, and I was in a local Idol contest in my hometown back on 3/21/14 and won 1st place. I have a video up on youtube.com at the Apollo Idol contest if you interested in watching.
I know I’m only 11 and have a lot to learn and understand, but I love to perform for people, and I would love to represent my hometown with my singing ability! I know I can succeed at what I set my mind to. Please consider me for your show. Thank you.

  7. Brianna Goins

Hey there. My name is Brianna Nicole Goins and I’m from Greensboro, NC. I’m 19 years old and have never dreamt of doing anything but singing since I was 5. Along the road I’ve met hardships and self doubt, but no matter how hard my life may seem to get it always leads me back to music. Over time being homeless and constantly put down for everything you are and do can take its toll on you. After a while I believed everything I loved doing I could never be good at so what is the point? I tried being someone I’m not thinking that this was a smarter future; a better choice. However long I tried to deny this to myself in the end it was no use because the point is whether you believe you’re good enough or not you can’t go along coasting life pretending to be something you’re not.

  8. Whitney

  10. Randy Heyer

This is the most exciting news I have heard in a very long time! A vocal competition produced by Queen Latifa! Of all of the superstars out there, today, she has a reputation for being fair and equitable, “almost to a fault” and this is an extrememly rare trait for entertainment celebrities. It automatically creates a credibility factor that television competitions struggle with, especially vocal contests! I am really looking forward to this opportunity and to the challenge. My dream has always been, to entertain huge crowds of people with my singing voice. As far as the other, vocal competitions that I have tried out for, all I have even wanted was a fair chance to show what I can do and I never felt I ever had that chance, with them. However, with the format presented here, I truly feel that I do.have a chance and for that, I thank you, very much! In my particular case, I was an extremely late bloomer due to several factors that I had no control over and then, some very poor decisions made on my part, based on beliefs and viewpoints developed within that environment. However, I have garnered a huge benefit out of this situation and that is; an extremely powerful, 4-1/2 octave vocal range that has grown stronger, more mature, and even more versatile than ever, in recent months. I can perform Operatic (Classical), Pop, Rock, R&B, Blues, Country, “Oldies”, (from the 50’s through today’s hottest songs) and Standards (Ballads). I will give more details as time goes along but for now, I just want to mention that I live in West Palm Beach, Florida. Please come and check me out. No matter what your expectations will be, I promise I will pleasantly, surprise you. Additionally, this area is a well-spring for undiscovered talent. Please let me know what to provide, in order for you to consider me for your show and I will be happy to send it along as per your instructions. Good luck and I look forward to meeting all of you and showing you what I can do. Thank you, again!

  11. Myesha Henderson

Pleaseeeeee come to Youngsville,NC! It’s always been my dream to sing. Please come and trust me you won’t be disappointed!!!! I live in a small country town that no one knows about. I just want to make it out! I’m also in college, I’d just love to make my dreams come true.

  12. Angi

Please come to Charlotte,NC! 27 yr old Mom of 4, been my dream my whole life.

  13. Nicole B

Greetings!!! It would be so wonderful if the show came to Jackson, North Carolina (27845 Zip Code) for auditions. I’m not opposed to traveling somewhere else to audition, but there is such great talent in my hometown that has yet to be discovered. I’m one of those great talents! I love music! I love how music makes me feel! I love to sing gospel and r&b soul music. I love songs that inspire/encourage/uplift. I believe I’m supposed to be a singer. I’m on my way. 🙂

  14. Jennifer Mayberry

first let me just say thank you lord..
my daughter and I have been on the web for months in search of a contest that is in search of singers.. came across a few but either for me it just didn’t feel right or the deadline for entries had already expired 🙁

my daughter just turned 16 this month. she is an excellent student and has a passion, or shall I say lives to perform.
she has performed in school talent show, the community talent review, for family and whoever wherever.. I mean, when it comes to singing and performing, the girl is TTG and that stands for TRAINED TO GO! (Hahaha.)

I completely understand that one of your goals for this new show is to set it off with some mad and unique talent so that the show stands out on my own against other singing competition shows.. therefore I would love to present to you my baby girl- Jennell Wadell Davis. I wish she was awake so that she could have done this comment section on her own but enough is enough we wait no more…
is there somewhere we can enter a video submission??

  15. charles Caldwell

  17. Katja

Hi, I’m Katja! I’m 27 years old & I live in Edison, NJ. I’d be perfect for the Star Next Door because, at first meeting, people are 1. surprised that I look at least 10 years younger than my actual age and 2. surprised at my love for singing and performance. Usually a shy & quiet girl, I’m told I appear as a different, more confident person on stage. I also don’t know many people around my neighborhood, so it’d really be a big surprise to them if they saw me on the Star Next Door.

I know I still have a lot of room for growth & being coached by such prominent talent would be a dream. Singing is my absolute passion & I cannot live without it. Please please pick me!

  18. Linda C. C.

Hello, I am Linda C.C. from Los Angeles, CA. I am very nice. I enjoy singing anywhere there is music playing. My family introduced me to karaoke singing in 2012. My youngest cousin inspired me to take on karaoke singing. I began singing karaoke at home and at Round1 in the Puente Hills Mall. Now, it is one of my favorite past times. I sing in english and spanish songs from many genres Top40, rock, and pop. Sometimes, I sing songs from Jewel, No Doubt, and Shakira. I would like to be considered for this show so I can have fun, entertain, and be around what I love music.

  19. Ebony Mccoy

Hello, as a child all i ever wanted to be was an entertainer. I performed in my first talent show at the age of 6 at my elementary school singing No, No, No by Destiny’s child, from that day on i just knew that i was gonna be a Superstar. I would perform outside on the front porch or beside the fire place with a karaoke machine that my mother had bought me with hopes of making to the Apollo theater, As i got older those dreams seemed to fade and real life hit. I ended up in the Military Serving my beloved country as a Marine, but now as a veteran I feel like its my time to see if my talents are worthy of gracing Americas ears, I sure would love a chance to showcase my gift!

I’m a 34 year old stay-at-home mom/former high school teacher/minister’s wife in Sugar Land, Texas who loves life, loves music, and loves trying new challenges! Like many others here, I have sung my entire life in choirs, an acapella group, in church, and even on a record with some friends. I just want to make a joyful noise everyday, and continue learning how to grow as a musician and person. Come visit me in Texas, y’all!

  28. Amanda Gum

I am 29. I am married. I have a beautiful baby boy and a wonderful step-daughter. I am a teacher at Braxton Co. High school in West Virginia. I guess you could say I have achieved the American dream! But, I have that “what-if” hanging over my head. I have always wanted to try to make it in the music industry but I have never had any proper training, so I was always scared to try. I come from a very musical family and I grew up singing in church. I love singing with my family, we always have a great time when we are together. I have been in a few bands and in my wilder year, I sang in bars (and still do from time to time lol). So I’m not a stranger to the stage. Music is something that I definitely love!

  33. Sienna M

Since the age of at least 5, i’ve known my calling in life to sing. I can sing all genres, but i know my calling is singing for the Lord. when im singing, i feel so alive and like nothing in the world can stop me. I love sharing my gift with my peers at school. Im in chorus at my school for the 2nd year. I get humbled every time i hear people praising my vocals! Im a shy person but when i sing, it’s like wow, why am i shy? Im not cocky, but i know im good and would be even better with professional help! I want to get out in the industry while im young. I’ve always wanted to be a child star. making my chorus teacher and my mother proud is all I want. while singing for Lord.I have a gift and i believe people can get saved and delivered form my ministry. 34. LaRhonda Carlton

Would be very appreciative if given the chance to portray my talent.

  35. Sara Hockett

I have been singing since the dawn of time, because I’ve seen that right? I am 18 years young and have experienced many thought-provoking challenges with which I have used music to persevere through. I have always had a passion for music. Music is transcendental and takes me to a place I could never reach without the sound of one’s voice or the beat of an instrument. However, I do not play an instrument. I have taken piano lessons and am aware that I have a 2 octave range as far as my vocal abilities, but I haven’t played in years. When I was in fourth grade, I cut a deal with my piano instructor that if he let me do a solo, at the time I sang “Silent Night”, I would play for him in the Christmas recital. In learning the extent of my capabilities, he allowed me to sing another classic the next year. I was overjoyed. Somewhere from 9 to almost 19, I developed “stage fright”. Maybe, I kept myself away from the stage because I couldn’t act and felt no transition in the industry, or because I feared others would be disapproving of what they heard or what they saw, or because I lacked confidence in my voice or stage presence, or because singing makes me vulnerable, and tender, but what is more beautiful than a transparent person? A person that openly shares their life because they know it will edify themselves and enrich another. Now, I want to live my life–to be alive– and not live based on the contingency that people may not like the sound of my voice because it is too operatic, or too high, or has too much vibrato, all comments I have received. I am okay with others not loving my musical style because I love it. I am okay with others not loving the way I look because I love the way I look. What better time to follow my dreams than now? To give someone a piece of myself, the most vulnerable and emotionally rich part of myself, for five minutes, less than five minutes, in song, is worth the possibility of disappointment because I never disappoint myself after I have the courage to sing for someone else. In life, risks must be taken. This is one risk I am willing to take. The criticism I receive may hurt at first, it may sting, it may burn, it may scar me for eternity, but it will darn well help me perfect my craft. As Jim Morrison said, “O great creator of being grant us one more hour to perform our art and perfect our lives.” Give me one hour, and I will give you my story, my sweat and tears, my conviction, and what I treasure above all–my life.

    -S.H. Griffin, Georgia

  42. Caroline Bailey

Hi, I’m not doing this to tell you all the interesting things I have on my résumé, because I don’t have one. I’m doing this to be completely honest, I’m an open book. I don’t have much experience but I have talent. I can sing, I can dance, and I can act. All I ever really think is why can’t I do that, I don’t want to just spend my whole day looking for auditions I can do. I have no friends I have good grades and I just really want this. I’ve always admired kids in plays on broadway or a community theatre for goodness sake. I just think that if this happens my moment will just come, I want this way more than anyone else. I don’t know HOW to start because workshops and classes aren’t getting me anywhere. I just really need that thing, that moment, and I think this is it. Please if you can pick me I’d be on cloud 9. I will do what you say and not take no as an answer unless supposed to. ( I’m 14 years old by the way )

I’d like for you to come to Our little town of Dayton Ohio and see the talent that we have. It’s not often that we get to be apart of the many talent searches out there and it would be that glimmer of hope that can put a spark back into the eyes of the people here. We do have a lot of talented people here who don’t have the means to travel out of state to these auditions. Come and see what the world is missing out on, you’d be very pleased.

  61. Calvin

Hi, im doing this on behalf of my aunt Asia, she is 19 years old and all she ever wanted to do was sing. She always nervous though to perform in front of people but she recently started to open it. She told us that she wanted to go on a show and sing but didn’t know which one. She does not know that i am doing this and it would be A LOT to her and her family if she got choose to be on this show, I know she has what it takes to be The Star Next Door she has everything that people are looking for now. Now a days there are not a lot of African American singers as there were before and i think it would be a great choice if she came and showed you her AMAZING and POWERFUL voice. This really would mean a lot to my family if she got picked. Especially all the things that we are going through right now.

  62. Patricia Peter

This little girl has been to hell and back in her short life but maintains a sunny outlook on life. Zoe deserves the chance to have her voice heard. I know I am a proud grandmother; however, my feelings do not change the fact that she can SING! Please let her sing for you – you will not be disappointed.

    Cordially,

    Carol Taylor

  64. PATTY PERRIN

Greetings my name is Patty Perrin and I live in Winston Salem, N.C. I have been singing seems like forever and a day. For years I have always felt I had what it took to be nationally known but my downfall was my fear of succeeding. I never liked being judged when it came to my vocals because I felt it downplayed what you new you were capable of. My mother always said you are going to be a great singer. For years she supported me as I performed in various groups and choirs, being my number one fan. However not long ago my mother died still believing I would be great but unfortunately she would never get to see it come to pass. I hold my\self at fault because I let my fear of success rob me of any chance I had to felt out there. Well after she passed away I stopped working, singing and performing and managed to keep myself hostage in my home for two years not leaving out to do anything but grieve. What managed to bring me out of bondage was God, my music and my mothers voice that was telling me to go get it ,its not too late. So when I seen this opportunity I decided to let go of my fears and not let her wish be in vain. I have strength now and I’m wiling to put myself out there so the world can see what I have to give. Please choose me and give me an opportunity to make my dreams come true….Thank you for taking time out to read what’s in my heart.

We are identical twins. We call ourselves Double Trouble and have been singing together since we were 12.We recently auditioned for X-Factor.We made it to the live rounds and performed before an audience and the judges. We love to sing and plan on continuing to pursue our dream.

  70. Aleena Diomande

I am going to be 13 in March 2014 and have been singing my entire life! I started “jabber” singing with my grandmother and now I sing for God! I am an active member of my youth group and have the opportunity to sing solos in church performances and bring special music at our church. I can read music, have at least a 6 octave range and play the piano as well as sing! I am looking for an opportunity to grow as a singer and recognize this as an opportunity God has given to those of us looking to move ahead in the industry. I look forward to the chance to submit a video of my singing ability.

  71. Tyra Barnhill

My name is Tyra Barnhill, but I prefer to go by my first and middle name, Tyra Anntrell. I am 17 years old and I have been singing for as long as I can remember. I started competing with my voice about a year ago. I am from ohio, and I competed in canton idol, in which I placed third in my age category. I also competed in Wooster quota idol where I placed top 8. This would mean so much to me. . My voice is all I have. About three years ago, I was diagnosed with major depressive disorder. I found out that my brain doesn’t make certain chemicals it needs to make my daily thought processes function correctly. I have battled suicide attempts, self harm and three different eating disorders. As difficult as my life has been the last few years, my voice is truly what has gotten me through it all. My music is what takes the pain away, and it has brought me out of the rut I was in. Singing has given my life purpose. Please choose me. You could even go to my YouTube account. TyraAnntrellExplicit. I know my voice is not perfect yet but I believe I have potential and I want to share it with the world.

  72. Shannan Crayton

Hello Loves! My name is Shannan Crayton, and I want to do nothing but sing and entertain people. I’ve wanted to sing since I was a little girl. I’m 25 and it is so hard to find a break. Every time I go out with my family or we have functions, I’m picked to do the Beyonce’ songs and dances. I have put my dreams on hold fo others and had a lot of happiness taken away from me. Through all of the hard times music was always my pick me up. God has blessed me with this talent, and I know that a singing career is meant for me. I have not been able to find true love in real life, but I’ve found it in music which is my life. I would love to participate in this show, for which I know it is meant for me to participate in.

  73. Mz Rikki

Hello my name is Rikki from Pennsylvania. This competition would mean much to me and give me lots of hope. Music has been my passion since I can remember and I just knew that I would be a star. Only when I had kids did I get discouraged and feel as it would never be an accomplishment. Well today I am ready to get my head back in the game. If given the chance to perform and show the world the confidence I have gained, then I will be ready to give my all!!!

  74. Keila Feaster for my 8 year old son Jorden Feaster

Hi, I am doing this on behalf of my son Jorden who is 8 years old. He has been musically inclined since he was a baby, as during my pregnancy I continued to sing and praise God at church as if I was not with child. I also used to put him in his walker in front of the tv watching our church dvds as a means to get work down because it would keep him quiet. He used to clap and try to sing along around the age of 1. As he grew my husband and I noticed how he was able to maintain his rhythm at such a young age and he began playing the tambourine and drums on beat by age 2 and singing church songs. At the age of 4 Jorden sang his first song for an adult gospel choir and has been turning heads across South and North Carolina with his strong and powerful voice and love for singing. He is the youngest leader for our church Adult choir and does not have a shy bone in his body. He is able to determine if he is on beat, on tune, in the right key and knows when and how to create his own runs in songs. He loves gospel, but he also loves the Jackson Five’s One More Chance and Earth Wind and Fire’s Shining Star. Since he was young he has maintained he wants to be a superstar and singer. He has even sung 2 gospel songs on Charlotte, NC #1 Radio Station for Hip Hop and R&B WPEG Power 97.9 on No Limit Larry and the Morning Maddhouse. This would mean so much to my son as he takes forever to get dressed for school because he is singing while bathing, brushing his teeth, and putting on his clothes. lol This is my baby’s passion and once I noticed his musical abilities I made a vow to do everything in my power to make his dreams come true! He’s so serious, he even understands Rhonda Byrnes’s concept of The Secret and wrote his goals for 2014 and of course being a famous singer was on the list! I pray God guides you all our way to help my son’s dream become a reality!!!

  75. Otu
