Melanie SmithHelp. I sincerely feel I was switched at birth or abducted. My “mother” states she went into the nursery when nurses weren’t around and says she took a baby back to her room without permission. I have always wondered if she took the right one, she had just had an emergency vertical c-section so she was drugged up. She said nurses were flying past her door in a frantic mode looking for a baby, and she said, “I’m glad mine is in here.” I was the baby they were looking for. Later she had another baby though she says she was told she wasn’t suppose to, and had many miscarriages and finally Jenny who died the day after open heart surgery when she was five. So – anyway, I look NOTHING like her or my supposed bio dad. She had very blonde hair and blue eyes, and he had black hair and blue eyes. I have golden brown hair and emerald green eyes. Everyday, I just go home and practice lines and lines and lines:) I can hear perfectly fine. Age: 13 (almost 14 February 14th!) People see my youngest as 13 and oldest as 16! My cousin and I were in dance class at my old school and we were the best in the group of like 10 or 15 other different aged kids. In KINDERGARDEN I memorized (Luke 2:6-14) and said it in front of the whole school + parents. In 1st grade I memorized a felt poem and said it to the whole school + parents. In 4th grade I sang a song for the talent show, there was about 20-40 people there. In 8th grade I memorized the first part of the “For score and seven years ago” speech that Abraham Lincoln said and said it at our closing program (about 50 + people were there). And if course at every program that my schools have done their is ALWAYS singing so I have LOTS of practice. ALL IS 100% TRUE!!!!! I am currently watching the episodes on Netflix. I have pretty good speech thanks to years of classes and determination.I’m very athlectic, I played softball and basketball for years and was on the team with the regular students. I became the the role model for all the deaf students on campus because they always feared they would never fit in or be able to do what normal kids can. That is until high school, when I started to get bullied really bad. I went into a dark time and my family had to take me to counseling. I wanted to kill myself but my mom made me stick it through. The girls were so mean and did horrible things to embarrass me! I didn’t let it stop me, so I graduated and also received a certificate in media and graphic arts. I produced short films through the Adobe youth voices which were shown at the local theatre.I have my own movie called dead air that I’m very proud of. I love acting and would love to one day make my dream come true! I’ve always loved pretend to be one of favourite character from a movie, growing up, and always wanted to act, sing and dance. But one thing always stopped me, I was born with minor hearing. Some of my hair cells were damaged. So I had hearing aids since I was 5. They discovered it later. I never got used to the idea that I was deaf, I just wanted to be mike the other kids. But with or without the hearing aids, I still felt different. I can hear fine without hearing, just not great with loud places or whisper. But I have trained myself to hear differently. The first real school play I did, was amazing. I really felt like an actor or actor in the making. When it comes to the finished products, I always seem to get more into the details then others. I really focus on what the actor does, and where the camera is. And the special effects and what nots. I really love the idea of the show, included a topic that not many people are that aware of. And it helped me with accepting, I guess. I’m working on it. I speak 3 languages: English, Dutch and French. I once studied sign, but somehow stopped. I’m a fast learner, I prefer to learn out in the world rather than in a classroom. I’m very hyperactive, spontaneous, creative, optimistic and hard working. I also play the guitar and learning piano. Now, I don’t really know what I’m supposed to expect from this reply or from this website, but this is something I really would love to be able to be apart of, and be apart and meet people like myself. I love to travel, but I still wouldn’t be able to just fly to LA or move there just like that. So I couldn’t know how to start. Or if I could even start. One day out of the blue (my character no name) shows up and she is 10 (but i look older then 10 and im almost 11) she shows up at The Cracked Mug asking for Regina and then Will become suspicious and tells his father and his father questions Regina and under pressure she gathers the Kennish’s and Daphne and Bay and Will and his father and she discusses what the issue was and Daphne gets really angry but very excited for a relative and Bay gets to meet (my character) first because they are blood related and Bay becomes a over-protecting sister and takes (my character) to L.A and they live in an apartment close to Emmet’s college. And one day Bay went to take a hike to get her mind off Emmet, when she was gone (my character) went through her laptop found out about the college incident and about her fight with Emmet so (my character) goes to Emmet’s room and asks him all these things and she doesnt know ASL very well so they type it on their phones and when Emmet becomes annoyed of all the questions he kicks (my character) out and she goes to the apartment where she finds Bay crying. I just want to say that audition on show or movies never came to my mind till now. I guess cause I don’t have other choice to know what to do after high school. And I seriously love to be around deaf people cause they makes me feel belong. I’m so proud of being hard of hearing and having both worlds, hearing and deafies, I love it so much.
