I work as both an actress and a sign language interpreter (working between British Sign Language and English) and have been signing for almost 14 years.I’m from the north-east of the UK, and now work and live in London. I’m 31 years old and have a playing age of 27-35.I started signing when I was introduced to the Deaf community in Sri Lanka, when I was 18 years old working as a volunteer in a deaf school there. So I learnt Sri Lankan Sign first, then British Sign Language, and have since learnt some ASL, Filipino sign language, and have worked with deaf communities in Mexico and Japan briefly. I love to sign!I’ve been acting since I was 4, and it is my passion. So to merge acting and sign language more would be just awesome. But hey, I have hearing courses to attend at RIT, so of course, I gotta wear hearing aid and use my mouth to talk since I don’t trust interpreter that well (since I care about my grades). Krystal DuBoseHello, my name is Krystal. Im from Clearwater, FL. I do not have professional acting experience besides doing an unpaid extra opportunity for the movie The Watch with Ben Stiller. Aside from that, ive doing theatre plays in middle school, A play at camp when i was young, and musicals and plays in middle and high school. Im 29 years old and will be 30 this year. I hope to attend acting classes within a year or so. Ive always dreamed of being an actress and would love to work on the set of switched at birth to start an acting resume. Im 5’5, dark brown eyes, dark brown hair, light brown skin, average built. I’m a big fan of the show. What attracted me to the show was Daphne character and her signing. My favorite character though is Bay. She’s has an outgoing attitude. She free and caring. She is artistic. One of my biggest dreams is to learn asl fluently. This show, has taught me SOOO much about the language, benefits, struggles and culture of being deaf. It opened my mind to a whole new world I’d never known about. I dont know anyone who is deaf or been around anyone deaf expect seeing them in the streets or a couples at church when i was little or on tv.This opportunity would not only bring more opportunities for me and my family members but more importantly, bring more education, training, and understanding to a culture and lifestyle so foreign to me. Elizabeth SwensonHi! My name is Elizabeth, and I am a huge Switched at Birth fan! Please consider me for any roles. It would be an honor and a dream come true to work with the cast in any way. I am almost 13, but I can play older/younger roles as needed. I have little acting experience, but I have acted before, and would love to again, especcially on this show! I can memorize lines quickly, will work super hard, can play the clarinet and irish dance, (if either of thise skills are required), and I can sing fairly well too. Although I am not fluent by any means, I know some basic ASL, and can quickly learn. I can play hearing/deaf if necessary. I do not (as far as I know) have a hearing problem, butand t would a dream to come on the shw and work with everyone. I know this is a long shot, and I don’t knoe if any casting directors fror anyone from the show is reading this, but if you are, please consider me. All I need is a xhance. Jillian snyderI’m 12 years old my grandma died September 3, 2013 I didn’t think I could ever be happy. Shortly after she passed they should her house I didn’t fid out until 5 days it was for sale. I didn’t know what to think but that was all I had of her I really shut down after that didn’t tell anyone about how I felt. But I started watching your shows and it made me happy again. I wa bullied in school I didn’t think I was pretty no matter how many people told me. Watching your show showed me not everyone is perfect and that everyone makes mistakes. Louise KnoeryHello, My name is Louise, I’m turning 18 in June. I’m deaf since I was born. I have hearing aids since I was 2. I’m french but I can speak english. I don’t use signs language but cued speech. I’m actually a student at high school and I will be gratuated in June. Acting is one of my hobbies. I want to show that deaf people can do it, can succeed. Watching this TV show is really amazing because I feel what deaf people feel and it shows also what deaf people are able to do. We can do a lot to things as hearing people. Since I’m watching this TV show I learn some things of ASL and I would totally love to learn more. I’m playing a little guitar and I also sing.. You may find this awkward but I’m working really hard on it. People said that I would never talk but today I’m talking and I can speak an another language than French and I wouldn’t be there writing this. People said I couldn’t go to school but I will be gratuated in June. I love music, I’m composing and writting my own songs and I also love riding horses. I am someone who is really strong-willed and never give up. When I started watching this TV show, I can really connect myself to Daphne. Her relationship with Regina reminds me of the relationship I have with my mother. It’s really amazing to watch a tv show about deaf universe. I know there’s not a lot of chances you choose me because I’m French but if you choose me I promise I won’t dissapoint you. I am a hardworker. I am learning sign language in case that does happen. I have never acted before, but I have always wanted to. It is something I’ve always thought about doing, but just haven’t done. ‘Switched at Birth’ is my favorite show. I love seeing that there is a show about deaf people and that the show is so popular.
