Sun off from the TV Land series Hot In Cleveland starring Betty White, Wendy Malick and Valerie Bertanelli and created by the shows producers, Soul Man will follow Cedric The Entertainer as Boyce “The Voice” Ballentine who has a spiritual calling to quit his successful career as a raunchy soul singer and return to his hometown to become the head preacher at his father’s church. Boyce and his family must go from a superstar lifestyle in Las Vegas to the humble but fulfilling existence in St. Louis. Laughs will be plentiful as Cedric interacts with his hilarious family played by Niecy Nash (Reno 911!), Jazz Raycole (My Wife And Kids), John Beasley (The Sum Of All Fears) and Wesley Jonathan (City Guys). This will be a chance for Disney talent evaluators to find new and exiting performers for all of their quality productions.
