Michael WilliamsI believe that i should be considered because singing/music is what i love. I’ve come to realize that i have an ability to sing, pretty much anything that i invest the time to learn. It hit me when others around me would inform me of how nice my singing was. (Majority Male! : O) That was an inspiring factor which encouraged me to continue singing even more. One thing i struggled with was that I’ve always considered myself a”mimic”, wondering if i were ever to find my own, true voice. Well I’ve recently discovered what i believe is my own voice and I’ve got some ways to go. As far as singing someone else’s song or “mimicking?!” I have absolutely no problem with that. Who knows, maybe my “lil struggle” had something to do with The Lord possibly opening an opportunity for me to take advantage of one of my greatest abilities. Chelsea RoweChelsea Marie Rowe, 20. My dream has always been to sing. My dad sang country and made a few cassettes back in the 90’s with his beautiful voice so I hope mine is up to par. I sing for my Grandpa Virgil because he always told me I had a beautiful voice but I was always too afraid to sing for him when he asked. Now that he has passed, I regret not giving him a chance to truly hear my voice and keep trying to serenade him in the heavens. I also sing for my love for music. I love pop, country, and hip R&B, and have had idols like Alicia Keys, Beyonce and Jessica Simpson since sixth grade when I entered Choir and have tried to model a soulful voice after the beautiful ladies. I even made a CD when my family visited Nashville, Tennessee when I entered seventh grade. Kelly Clarkson had just won American Idol and was my Life Idol, so I sang three of her songs in a booth in the Tennessee mall and recorded them on a CD to bring back to play for my class. Devin LeMaitreMy name is Devin LeMaitre. I’m 16 and I play piano along with being a minor percussionist. I’ve been performing pretty much my whole life. First as a pianist and for the last 6 and a half years I’ve been singing as well. I was signed to a minor record label only to be dropped a year later due to low sales and personal issues. Since then I’ve been doing everything musical by myself. Im sort of an underdog pianist in the band I’m in so I dont count that as an event I should mention. I do covers on YouTube solo performances ever once in a while. Ive been told I sound like Chris Brown, John Legend, Aloe Blacc, Chester See, The Weeknd, Usher, The Lead Singer of Foster The People, Imagine Dragons, Linkin Park, The Neighbourhood, and a lot of other singers and rappers. I do impersonations constantly and that probably has sometging to do with why I can impersonate so many big names. When I saw this add I knew it was something that would be right down my ally. This gift has been has been compared to many true male singers from Jeffrey Osborne to James Ingram but mainly the legendary LUTHER VANDROSS, never forgetting my gospel roots. Having had a horrific childhood (being adopted into an abusive family where I was physically, mentally, emotionally and sexually abused), disowned by my family for being gay in my teenaged years, being diagnosed in the mid 80s with a terminal illness expected not to live past 1995 and the succumbing to the horrors of addiction to cope with all this, it’s been my own voice that’s carried me thru (and God) that’s carried me. Having been told my voice has affected many whom heard me, I only want to inspire or empower ALL wether via the gift of song or my personal testimonials, regardless of whence one has traveled thru life’s journey, NEVER give up on self, your dreams, your talents and aspirations! Mine is touching those thru song and my personal experience. I’d like to share it with the world and that’s why I’d like to be considered for your show.
